1 - حدثنا الشيخ الجليل أبو جعفر محمد بن علي بن الحسين بن موسى ابن بابويه القمي (رضي الله عنه)، في دار السيد أبي محمد، قال: حدثنا إبراهيم بن إسحاق الطالقاني (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا أبو أحمد عبد العزيز بن يحيى بن أحمد بن عيسى الجلودي البصري بالبصرة سنة سبع عشرة وثلاث مائة، قال: حدثنا الحسين بن حميد، قال: حدثنا يحيى بن عبد الحميد الحماني، قال: حدثنا قيس بن الربيع، عن الاعمش، عن عباية بن ربعي، عن ابن عباس، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): إن الله عزوجل قسم الخلق قسمين: فجعلني في خيرهما قسمة، وذلك قوله عزوجل في ذكر أصحاب اليمين وأصحاب الشمال، وأنا من أصحاب اليمين، وأنا خير أصحاب اليمين، ثم جعل القسمين أثلاثا، فجعلني في خيرها ثلثا، وذلك قوله عزوجل: (فأصحاب الميمنة ما أصحاب الميمنة * وأصحاب المشئمة ما أصحاب المشئمة * والسابقون السابقون) (1)، وأنا من السابقين، وأنا خير السابقين، ثم جعل الا ثلاث قبائل، فجعلني في خيرها قبيلة، وذلك قوله عزوجل:  (وجعلناكم شعوبا وقبائل لتعارفوا إن أكرمكم عند الله أتقاكم) (1)، فأنا أتقى ولد آدم وأكرمهم على الله جل ثناؤه ولا فخر، ثم جعل القبائل بيوتا، فجعلني في خيرها بيتا، وذلك قوله عز وجل: (إنما يريد الله ليذهب عنكم الرجس أهل البيت ويطهركم تطهيرا) (2).

إن الله عز و جل

Abu Ja`far Muhammad b. `Ai b. al-Husayn b. Musa b. Babuwayh (ra) narrated to us in the house of Sayyid Abi Muhammad. He said: Ibrahim b. Ishaq al-Talaqani (ra) narrated to us. He said: Abu Ahmad `Abd al-`Aziz b. Yahya b. Ahmad b. `Isa al-Juludi al-Basri narrated to us in Basra in 317 AH. He said: Al-Husayn b. Humayd narrated to us. He said: Yahya b. `Abd al-Hamid al-Hamani narrated to us. He said: Qays b. al-Rabi` narrated to us from al-A`mash from `Abaya b. Rabi`i from Ibn `Abbas. He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Allah divided the creation into two parts, and he put me in the better part. That is His saying with regards to the companions of the right and the companions of the left – I am from the companions of the right, and I am the best of the companions of the right. Then, He made the two parts into thirds, and He put me in the better third. That is His saying, “The companions of the right, how blessed will they be. The companions of the left, how miserable will they be. The foremost will be the foremost” (56:8-10). I am from the foremost, and I am the best of the foremost. Then, He made the three into tribes, and He put me in the best tribe. That is His saying, “We made you into nations and tribes so that you may recognize. Surely, the noblest of you in the sight of Allah are the most Godfearing of you.” (49:13) I am the most Godfearing of the descendants of Adam, and I am the noblest of them in the sight of Allah – and I do not boast. Then, He made the tribes into families, and He put me in the best of families. That is His saying, “Allah only desires to keep the uncleanness away from you, O people of the House, and to purify you with a thorough purification” (33:33)

2 - حدثنا أبي (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن الحسن المؤدب، عن أحمد بن علي الاصبهاني، عن إبراهيم، بن محمد الثقفي، قال: حدثنا محمد بن علي، قال: حدثنا ابن هراسة الشيباني، قال: حدثنا جعفر بن زياد الاحمر، عن زيد بن علي ابن الحسين بن علي (عليهم السلام)، أنه قرأ: (وكان أبوهما صالحا فأراد ربك أن يبلغا أشدهما ويستخرجا كنزهما) (3) ثم قال زيد: حفظهما الله بصلاح أبيهما، فمن أولى بحسن الحفظ منا! رسول الله جدنا، وابنته أمنا، وسيدة نسائه جدتنا، وأول من آمن به وصلى معه أبونا (4).

أنه قرأ...ثم قال

My father (ra) narrated to us. He said: `Abdullah b. al-Hasan al-Mu’addab narrated to us from Ahmad b. `Ali al-Isfahani from Ibrahim b. Muhammad al-Thaqafi. He said: Muhammad b. `Ali narrated to us. He said: Ibn Harasa al-Shaybani narrated to us. He said: Ja`far b. Ziyad al-Ahmar narrated to us from Zayd b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. `Ali (as). He recited, “Their father had been a righteous man, so your Lord intended them to reach maturity and then extract their treasure.” (18:82) Then, Zayd said: Allah protected them because of the righteousness of their father; so, who is more deserving of protection than us?! The Messenger of Allah is our grandfather, his daughter is our mother, the Mistress of his Women is our grandmother, and the first to believe in him and pray with him is our father.

3 - وبهذا الاسناد، عن إبراهيم بن محمد الثقفي، عن علي بن هلال الاحمسي، قال: حدثنا شريك، عن عبد الملك بن عمير، قال: بعث الحجاج إلى يحيى بن يعمر، فقال له: أنت الذي تزعم أن ابني علي ابنا رسول الله؟ قال: نعم. وأتلو عليك بذلك قرآنا، قال: هات. قال: أعطني الامان. قال: لك الامان. قال: أليس الله عزوجل يقول: (ووهبنا له إسحاق ويعقوب كلا هدينا ونوحا هدينا من قبل ومن ذريته داود وسليمان وأيوب ويوسف وموسى وهارون وكذلك نجزى المحسنين) (5) ثم قال: (وزكريا ويحيى وعيسى) (6)، أفكان لعيسى أب؟ قال: لا.  قال: فقد نسبه الله عزوجل في الكتاب إلى إبراهيم. قال: ما حملك على أن تروي مثل هذا الحديث؟ قال: ما أخذ الله على العلماء في علمهم أن لا يكتموا علما علموه (1).

By this isnad from Ibrahim b. Muhammad al-Thaqafi from `Ali b. Hilal al-Ahmasi. He said: Sharik narrated to us from `Abd al-Malik b. `Umayr. He said: Al-Hajjaj sent for Yahya b. Ya`mur, and he said to him: Are you the one that alleges that the two sons of `Ali are the sons of the Messenger of Allah? He said: Yes, and I could recite that from the Quran for you. He said: Give it. He said: Grant me protection. He said: Protection is yours. He said: Doesn’t Allah say, “We bestowed him with Ishaq and Ya`qub, and We guided all of them. And Nuh, We guided before; and among his descendants, Dawud, Sulayman, Ayyub, Yusuf, Musa, and Harun – thus We reward the doers of good” (6:84)? Then, he said, “And Zakariyya, Yahya, and `Isa” (6:85) – did `Isa have a father? He said: No. He said: Yet Allah attributed him to Ibrahim in the scripture. He said: What caused you to narrate this? He said: Allah did not command the scholars to conceal knowledge from being taught.

4 - حدثنا محمد بن موسى بن المتوكل (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا محمد ابن أبي عبد الله الكوفي، عن موسى بن عمران النخعي، عن عمه الحسين بن يزيد النوفلي، عن علي بن سالم، عن أبيه، عن أبي حمزة الثمالي، عن سعد الخفاف، عن الاصبغ بن نباتة، عن عبد الله بن عباس، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): لما عرج بي إلى السماء السابعة ومنها إلى سدرة المنتهى، ومن السدرة إلى حجب النور، ناداني ربي جل جلاله: يا محمد، أنت عبدي وأنا ربك، فلي فاخضع، وإياي فاعبد، وعلي فتوكل، وبي فثق، فإني قد رضيت بك عبدا وحبيبا ورسولا ونبيا، وبأخيك علي خليفة وبابا، فهو حجتي على عبادي، وإمام لخلقي، به يعرف أوليائي من أعدائي، وبه يميز حزب الشيطان من حزبي، وبه يقام ديني، وتحفظ حدودي، وتنفذ أحكامي، وبك وبه وبالائمة من ولده أرحم عبادي وإمائي، وبالقائم منكم اعمر أرضي بتسبيحي وتهليلي وتقديسي وتكبيري وتمجيدي، وبه اطهر الارض من أعدائي وأورثها أوليائي، وبه أجعل كلمة الذين كفروا بي السفلى وكلمتي العليا، وبه احيي عبادي وبلادي بعلمي، وله (2) اظهر الكنوز والذخائر بمشيئتي، وإياه أظهر على الاسرار والضمائر بإرادتي، وأمده بملائكتي لتؤيده على إنفاذ أمري وإعلان ديني، ذلك ولي حقا، ومهدي عبادي صدقا (3).

Muhammad b. Musa b. al-Mutawakkil (ra) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Abi `Abdillah al-Kufi narrated to us from Musa b. `Imran al-Nakha`i from his uncle al-Husayn b. Yazid al-Nawfali from `Ali b. Muslim rom his father from Abi Hamza al-Thumali from Sa`d al-Khaffaf from al-Asbagh b. Nubata from `Abdullah b. `Abbas. He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: When my Lord took me up to the seventh heaven, and from it to the Lote Tree of the Furthest Boundary, and from the Lote Tree to the veils of light, my Lord called to me: “O Muhammad! You are My Servant, and I am your Lord. Submit to Me, worship Me, rely on Me, and trust Me, for I am pleased with you as a servant, a beloved, a messenger, and a prophet, and with your brother `Ali as a vicegerent (khalifa) and a gate (bab). He is My Proof over My servants and the Imam of My creation. Through him, My friends will be distinguishable from My enemies, and My Party will be distinguishable from the Party of Satan. Through him, My religion is established, My limits are preserved, and My judgments are carried out. Through you, him, and the Imams from his descendants, My male and female servants receive My mercy. Through the Qa’im from you, I will establish My glorification, My praise, My sanctification, My acclamation, and My exaltation in My Earth. Through him, I will purify the Earth from My enemies, and I will bequeath it to My friends. Through him, I will make the words of those who disbelieve in Me the lowest, and I will make My words the highest. Through him, I will bring life to My servants and My countries with My knowledge. By My will, I will reveal the treasures and the resources for him. By My wish, I will reveal the secrets and the consciences to him. I will support him with My angels to aid him in carrying out My order and announcing My religion. Truly, he is My friend; verily, he is the guide (mahdi) of My servants.”

5 - حدثنا محمد بن علي ماجيوليه (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا علي بن إبراهيم بن هاشم، عن أبيه، عن محمد بن أبي عمير، قال: ما سمعت ولا استفدت من هشام بن الحكم في طول صحبتي إياه شيئا أحسن من هذا الكلام في صفة عصمة  الامام، فإني سألته يوما عن الامام، أهو معصوم؟ قال: نعم. فقلت: وما صفة العصمة فيه، وبأي شئ تعرف؟ قال: إن جميع الذنوب لها أربعة أوجه لا خامس لها: الحرص والحسد، والغضب، والشهوة، فهذه منفية عنه، فلا يجوز أن يكون حريصا على هذه الدنيا وهي تحت خاتمه، لانه خازن المسلمين، فعلى ماذا يحرص؟ ولا يجوز أن يكون حسودا، لان الانسان إنما يحسد من هو فوقه، وليس فوقه أحد، فكيف يحسد من هو دونه؟ ولا يجوز أن يغضب لشئ من أمور الدنيا، إلا أن يكون غضبه لله عزوجل، فإن الله عزوجل قد فرض عليه إقامة الحدود، وأن لا تأخذه في الله لومة لائم ولا رأفة في دينه حتى يقيم حدود الله عزوجل، ولا يجوز أن يتبع الشهوات ويؤثر الدنيا على الآخرة، لان الله عزوجل حبب إليه الآخرة كما حبب إلينا الدنيا، فهو ينظر إلى الآخرة كما ننظر إلى الدنيا، فهل رأيت أحدا ترك وجها حسنا لوجه قبيح، وطعاما طيبا لطعام مر، وثوبا لينا لثوب خشن، ونعمة دائمة باقية لدنيا زائلة فانية؟ (1).

في طول صحبتي إياه شيئا أحسن من هذا الكلام في صفة عصمة الإمام فإني سألته...قال

Muhammad b. `Ali Majiluwayh (ra) narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. Ibrahim b. Hashim narrated to us from his father from Muhammad b. Abi `Umayr. He said: During my long friendship with Hisham b. al-Hakam, I have not heard nor benefited from anything more than I did from these words regarding the immaculate nature of the Imam. One day, I asked him about the Imam: is he immaculate? So Hisham said: Yes. So, I said: So, what is the description of his immaculateness? And how is it recognized? Hisham said: Surely, all sins are due to the following four, and there is no fifth: greed, jealousy, anger, and lust. None of these exist in an Imam. An Imam cannot be greedy toward this world while it is [all] under his ring, for he is the treasurer of the Muslims. So why should he be greedy? An Imam cannot be jealous, since man would be jealous of what is above him, not what is lower than him. However, there is no one higher than an Imam. So how could he be jealous of anyone who is lower than himself? An Imam cannot get angry at any worldly affairs unless it be for what angers Allah. Allah has made him responsible in establishing the limits. Thus, he becomes angry at the blamers, and he befriends others for their religion, so that the limits of Allah are established. An Imam cannot follow lusts, since he has already preferred the Hereafter over this world. Surely, Allah has made the Hereafter beloved to him, just as He made this world beloved to us. So, he looks to the Hereafter the way that we look at this world. Have you seen anyone who abandoned a beautiful face for an ugly face, or tasty food for bitter food, or soft clothes for rough clothes? Everlasting blessings are for the everlasting world, while this world is transient and fleeting.

1004 / 6 - حدثنا محمد بن إبراهيم بن إسحاق (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا محمد ابن حمدان الصيدلاني، قال: حدثنا محمد بن مسلمة الواسطي، قال: حدثنا يزيد بن هارون، قال: أخبرنا خالد الحذاء، عن أبي قلابة عبد الله بن زيد الجرمي، عن ابن عباس، قال: لما مرض رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) وعنده أصحابه، قام إليه عمار بن ياسر (رضي الله عنه)، فقال له: فداك أبي وأمي يا رسول الله، من يغسلك منا، إذا كان ذلك منك؟ قال: ذاك علي بن أبي طالب، لانه لا يهم بعضو من أعضائي إلا أعانته الملائكة على ذلك. فقال له: فداك أبي وأمي يا رسول الله، فمن يصلي عليك منا إذا كان ذلك منك. قال: مه رحمك الله. ثم قال لعلي (عليه السلام): يا بن أبي طالب، إذا رأيت روحي قد فارقت جسدي فاغسلني وأنق غسلي، وكفني في طمري هذين، أو في بياض مصر، وبرد يمان، ولا  تغال في كفني، واحملوني حتى تضعوني على شفير قبري، فأول من يصلي علي الجبار جل جلاله من فوق عرشه، ثم جبرئيل وميكائيل وإسرافيل في جنود من الملائكة لا يحصي عددهم إلا الله عزوجل، ثم الحافون بالعرش، ثم سكان أهل سماء فسماء، ثم جل أهل بيتي ونسائي الاقربون فالاقربون، يومئون إيماء، ويسلمون تسليما، لا تؤذوني بصوت نادبة ولا رنة (1). ثم قال: يا بلال، هلم علي بالناس، فاجتمع الناس فخرج رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) متعصبا بعمامته، متوكئا على قوسه حتى صعد المنبر، فحمد الله وأثنى عليه، ثم قال: معاشر أصحابي، أي نبي كنت لكم! ألم أجاهد بين أظهركم، ألم تكسر رباعيتي، ألم يعفر جبيني، ألم تسل الدماء على حر وجهي (2) حتى لثقت (3) لحيتي، ألم أكابد الشدة والجهد مع جهال قومي، ألم أربط حجر المجاعة على بطني؟ قالوا: بلى يا رسول الله، لقد كنت لله صابرا، وعن منكر بلاء الله ناهيا، فجزاك الله عنا أفضل الجزاء. قال: وأنتم فجزاكم الله. ثم قال: إن ربي عزوجل حكم وأقسم أن لا يجوزه ظلم ظالم، فناشدتكم بالله أي رجل منكم كانت له قبل محمد مظلمة إلا قام فليقتص منه، فالقصاص في دار الدنيا أحب إلي من القصاص في دار الآخرة على رؤوس الملائكة والانبياء. فقام إليه رجل من أقصى القوم يقال له سوادة بن قيس (4)، فقال له: فداك أبي وأمي يا رسول الله، إنك لما أقبلت من الطائف استقبلتك وأنت على ناقتك العضباء  وبيدك القضيب الممشوق (1)، فرفعت القضيب وأنت تريد الراحلة فأصاب بطني، فلا أدري عمدا أو خطأ. فقال معاذ الله أن أكون تعمدت. ثم قال: يا بلال، قم إلى منزل فاطمة فأتني بالقضيب الممشوق. فخرج بلال وهو ينادي في سكك المدينة: معاشر الناس، من ذا الذي يعطي القصاص من نفسه قبل يوم القيامة؟ فهذا محمد (صلى الله عليه وآله) يعطي القصاص من نفسه قبل يوم القيامة! وطرق بلال الباب على فاطمة (عليها السلام) وهو يقول: يا فاطمة، قومي فوالدك يريد القضيب الممشوق. فأقبلت فاطمة (عليها السلام) وهي تقول: يا بلال، وما يصنع والدي بالقضيب، وليس هذا يوم القضيب؟ فقال بلال: يا فاطمة، أما علمت أن والدك قد صعد المنبر وهو يودع أهل الدين والدنيا! فصاحت فاطمة (عليها السلام) وهي تقول: واغماه لغمك يا أبتاه، من للفقراء والمساكين وابن السبيل يا حبيب الله وحبيب القلوب؟ ثم ناولت بلالا القضيب، فخرج حتى ناوله رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله)، فقال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): أين الشيخ؟ فقال الشيخ: ها أنا ذا يا رسول الله، بأبي أنت وأمي؟ فقال: تعال فاقتص مني حتى ترضى. فقال الشيخ: فاكشف لي عن بطنك يا رسول الله، فكشف (صلى الله عليه وآله) عن بطنه، فقال الشيخ: بأبي أنت وامي يا رسول الله، أتأذن لي أن أضع فمي على بطنك؟ فأذن له، فقال: أعوذ بموضع القصاص من بطن رسول الله من النار يوم النار. فقال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): يا سوادة بن قيس، أتعفو أم تقتص؟ فقال: بل أعفو يا رسول الله. فقال (صلى الله عليه وآله): اللهم اعف عن سوادة بن قيس كما عفا عن نبيك محمد. ثم قام رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) فدخل بيت ام سلمة وهو يقول: رب سلم أمة محمد من النار، ويسر عليهم الحساب. فقالت أم سلمة: يا رسول الله، ما لي أراك مغموما متغير اللون! فقال: نعيت إلي نفسي هذه الساعة، فسلام لك مني في الدنيا،  فلا تسمعين بعد هذا اليوم صوت محمد أبدا. فقالت أم سلمة: واحزناه حزنا لا تدركه الندامة عليك يا محمداه. ثم قال (صلى الله عليه وآله): ادعي لي حبيبة قلبي (1)، وقرة عيني فاطمة تجئ. فجاءت فاطمة (عليها السلام) وهي تقول: نفسي لنفسك الفداء، ووجهي لوجهك الوقاء يا أبتاه، ألا تكلمني كلمة؟ فإني أنظر إليك وأراك مفارق الدنيا، وأرى عساكر الموت تغشاك شديدا. فقال لها: يا بنية، إني مفارقك، فسلام عليك مني. قالت: يا أبتاه، فأين الملتقى يوم القيامة؟ قال: عند الحساب. قالت: فإن لم ألقك عند الحساب؟ قال: عند الشفاعة لامتي. قالت: فإن لم ألقك عند الشفاعة لامتك؟ قال: عند الصراط، جبرئيل عن يميني، وميكائيل عن يساري، والملائكة من خلفي وقدامي ينادون: رب سلم أمة محمد من النار، ويسر عليهم الحساب. فقالت فاطمة (عليها السلام): فأين والدتي خديجة؟ قال: في قصر له أربعة أبواب إلى الجنة. ثم أغمي على رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله)، فدخل بلال وهو يقول: الصلاة رحمك الله، فخرج رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) وصلى بالناس، وخفف الصلاة. ثم قال: ادعوا لي علي بن أبي طالب وأسامة بن زيد، فجاءا فوضع (صلى الله عليه وآله) يده على عاتق علي (عليه السلام)، والاخرى على اسامة، ثم قال: انطلقا بي إلى فاطمة. فجاءا به حتى وضع رأسه في حجرها، فإذا الحسن والحسين (عليهما السلام) يبكيان ويصطرخان (2) وهما يقولان: أنفسنا لنفسك الفداء، ووجوهنا لوجهك الوقاء. فقال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): من هذان يا علي؟ قال: هذان ابناك الحسن والحسين. فعانقهما وقبلهما، وكان الحسن (عليه السلام) أشد بكاء، فقال له: كف يا حسن، فقد شققت على رسول الله. فنزل ملك الموت (عليه السلام)، فقال: السلام عليك يا رسول الله. قال: وعليك  السلام، يا ملك الموت، لي إليك حاجة. قال: وما حاجتك يا نبي الله؟ قال: حاجتي أن لا تقبض روحي حتى يجيئني جبرئيل (عليه السلام) فيسلم علي واسلم عليه، فخرج ملك الموت وهو يقول: يا محمداه، فاستقبله جبرئيل في الهواء، فقال: يا ملك الموت، قبضت روح محمد؟ قال: لا يا جبرئيل، سألني أن لا أقبضه حتى يلقاك فتسلم عليه ويسلم عليك. فقال جبرئيل: يا ملك الموت، أما ترى أبواب السماء مفتحة لروح محمد، أما ترى الحور العين قد تزين لروح محمد؟ ثم نزل جبرئيل (عليه السلام) فقال: السلام عليك يا أبا القاسم. فقال: وعليك السلام يا جبرئيل، ادن مني حبيبي جبرئيل، فدنا منه، فنزل ملك الموت فقال له جبرئيل: يا ملك الموت، احفظ وصية الله في روح محمد، وكان جبرئيل عن يمينه وميكائيل عن يساره وملك الموت آخذ بروحه (صلى الله عليه وآله)، فلما كشف الثوب عن وجه رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) نظر إلى جبرئيل (عليه السلام)، فقال له: عند الشدائد تخذلني! فقال: يا محمد، إنك ميت وإنهم ميتون، كل نفس ذائقة الموت. فروي عن ابن عباس أن رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) في ذلك المرض كان يقول: ادعوا لي حبيبي، فجعل يدعى له رجل بعد رجل فيعرض عنه، فقيل لفاطمة (عليها السلام): امضي إلى علي، فما نرى رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) يريد غير علي (عليه السلام)، فبعثت فاطمة إلى علي (عليه السلام) فلما دخل فتح رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) عينيه وتهلل وجهه، ثم قال: إلي يا علي، إلي يا علي، فما زال (صلى الله عليه وآله) يدنيه حتى أخذه بيده، وأجلسه عند رأسه، ثم أغمي عليه، فجاء الحسن والحسين (عليهما السلام) يصيحان ويبكيان حتى وقعا على رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) فأراد علي (عليه السلام) أن ينحيهما عنه، فأفاق رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) ثم قال: يا علي، دعني اشمهما ويشماني، وأتزود منهما ويتزودان مني، أما إنهما سيظلمان بعدي ويقتلان ظلما، فلعنة الله على من يظلمهما، يقول ذلك ثلاثا. ثم مد يده إلى علي (عليه السلام) فجذبه إليه حتى أدخله تحت ثوبه الذي كان عليه، ووضع فاه على فيه، وجعل يناجيه مناجاة طويلة حتى خرجت روحه الطيبة (صلى الله عليه وآله)، فانسل علي (عليه السلام) من تحت ثيابه، وقال: أعظم الله أجوركم  في نبيكم، فقد قبضه الله إليه. فارتفعت الاصوات بالضجة والبكاء، فقيل لامير المؤمنين (عليه السلام): ما الذي ناجاك به رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) حين أدخلك تحت ثيابه؟ فقال: علمني ألف باب، يفتح لي كل باب ألف باب (1).

و عنده أصحابه قام إليه عمار بن ياسر فقال له...قال

Muhammad b. Ibrahim b. Ishaq (ra) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Hamdan al-Saydalani narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Maslama al-Wasiti narrated to us. He said: Yazid b. Harun narrated to us. He said: Khalid al-Hadha’ informed us from Abi Qilaba `Abdullah b. Zayd al-Jarmi from Ibn `Abbas. He said: When the Messenger of Allah (s) became ill, and his companions were with him, `Ammar b. Yasir (ra) went to him and said to him: May my mother and my father be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah – which one of us will give you your funeral bath if this (death) were to happen? He said: That is `Ali b. Abi Talib, for he will have no concern for any part of my body except that the angels will assist him in that. So, he said to him: May my mother and my father be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah – which one of us will pray over you if this were to happen? He said: Cease; may Allah have mercy on you. Then, he said to `Ali (as): O Ibn Abi Talib! Once you see that my spirit has departed from my body, then bathe me carefully, and shroud me with these two for my burial. Do not make my shroud extravagant. Then, carry me until you place me at the edge of my grave. The first one who will pray over me is the Powerful [God] from above His Throne. Then, Gabriel, Michael, and Israfil [will pray over me] among angelic soldiers – none can enumerate them except Allah. Then, those that encircle the Throne, then, the inhabitants of heaven. Then, my Ahl al-Bayt and the women who are near [to me] – they should gesture with a nod and give their salaam, and they should not harm me with a mournful or despondent voice.  Then, he said: O Bilal! Gather the people for me. So, he gathered the people. The Messenger of Allah (s) went out grasping his turban and leaning on his bow, until he climbed the pulpit. He praised Allah and commended Him, then said: O my companions! What kind of a prophet was I to you! Did I not fight alongside you? Did I not break my tooth [in the Battle of Uhud]? Did my forehead not get dusty? Did blood not run down on my hot face until it covered my beard? Did I not suffer hardship and difficulty with the ignorant of my nation? Did I not tie a painful stone to my stomach? They said: Of course, O Messenger of Allah. You were patient for Allah, and you prohibited the things Allah deemed immoral. We [pray that] Allah grants you the best of rewards. He said: May Allah reward you too. Then, he said: Surely, my Lord ruled and declared that no wrongdoing of an oppressor will go unaddressed by Him. So, I adjure you by Allah – which of you men have experienced a wrongdoing from Muhammad so that I may expiate for him? Expiation in the abode of this world is dearer to me than expiation (punishment) in the abode of the Hereafter upon the heads of the angels and the prophets. So, a man called Suwada b. Qays, who was from the furthest part of the community, came to him and said to him: May my mother and my father be your sacrifice, O Messenger of Allah! When you proceeded from Ta’if, I met you whilst you were upon your she-camel al-`Ada’. In your hand was a long pole. You raised the pole – and you had wanted to disembark – and it hit my stomach. I do not know if it was done intentionally or by accident. So, he said: God forbid that it was intentional. Then, he said: O Bilal! Go to the house of Fatima and bring me the long pole. So, Bilal went and called out in the middle of Medina: O people! Which of you gives expiation for others before the Day of Resurrection? This Muhammad (s) gives expiation for others before the Day of Resurrection! Then, Bilal knocked on the door of Fatima (as), saying: O Fatima! Stand up, for your father wants the long pole. So, Fatima (as) came forward, saying: O Bilal! What will my father do with the pole, when this is not a day for the pole? So, Bilal said: O Fatima! Do you not know that your father has climbed the pulpit to bid farewell to the people of the religion and this world?! So, Fatima (as) screamed, saying: How overwhelming is your grief, father! Who will be there for the poor, the needy, and the wayfarers, O Beloved of Allah, and O beloved of the hearts? Then, she gave him the pole, and he went out until he gave it to the Messenger of Allah (s). So, the Messenger of Allah (s) said: Where is the elder? So, the elder said: I am here, O Messenger of Allah – may my father and my mother be your sacrifice. So, he said: Come and seek expiation from me until you are satisfied. So, the elder said: Uncover your stomach for me, O Messenger of Allah. So, he (s) uncovered his stomach. The elder said: May my mother and my father be your sacrifice, O Messenger of Allah! Do you permit me to place my lips on your stomach? So, he permitted him. So, he said: I seek refuge from the Fire on the Day of the Fire for the place of expiation on the stomach of the Messenger of Allah. So, the Messenger of Allah (s) said: O Suwada b. Qays! Will you forgive me, or will you seek expiation? So, he said: Rather, I will forgive, O Messenger of Allah. So, he (s) said: O Allah! Forgive Suwada b. Qays just as he forgave Your Prophet, Muhammad. Then, the Messenger of Allah (s) stood up and entered the house of Umm Salama, saying: O Lord! Safeguard the Nation of Muhammad from the Fire and ease the Judgment for them. So, Umm Salama said: O Messenger of Allah! Why do I see that you are gloomy, and that your colour has changed?! So, he said: I mourn for myself at this hour. Peace be unto you from me in this world, for you will never hear the voice of Muhammad again after this today. So, Umm Salama said: O grief! You do not realize the sorrow over you, Muhammad. Then, he (s) said: Call for the love of my heart and the joy of my eye Fatima to come. So, Fatima (as) came, saying: May my self be sacrificed for your self! May my face be a shield for yours. Will you not speak to me? For surely, I am looking at you and I see that you are leaving this world, and that the soldiers of death have overcome you intensely. So, he said to her: O daughter! I am departing from you, so peace be unto you from me. She said: O father! Where shall I meet you on the Day of Resurrection? He said: At the Judgment. She said: What if I do not find you at the Judgment? He said: [Then] at the intercession for my Nation. She said: What if I do not find you at the intercession for your Nation? He said: At the Path, with Gabriel on my right, Michael on my left, and the angels behind me and before me calling out: “O Lord! Safeguard the Nation of Muhammad from the Fire and ease the Judgment for them.” So, Fatima (as) said: Where is my mother Khadija? He said: In a palace that has four gates to Paradise. Then, the Messenger of Allah (s) swooned. Bilal entered, saying: Prayer [time] – may Allah have mercy on you. So, the Messenger of Allah (s) went out and led the people in prayer. He lightened the prayer, then said: Call for `Ali b. Abi Talib and Usama b. Zayd for me. They came, and he (s) put one hand on the shoulder of `Ali (as) and one hand on the shoulder of Usama. Then, he said: Come with me to Fatima. So, they went with him until he put his head in her lap. Al-Hasan and al-Husayn (as) wept and screamed, saying: May we sacrifice our selves for your self! May our faces be a shield for yours. So, the Messenger of Allah (s) said: Who are these, `Ali? He said: These are your two sons al-Hasan and al-Husayn. So, he embraced them and kissed them both. Al-Hasan (as) was weeping more intensely, so he said to him: Stop, Hasan, for you have broken [the heart] of the Messenger of Allah. Then, the Angel of Death (as) came down and said: Peace be unto you, O Messenger of Allah. He said: And also with you, O Angel of Death. I have a need from you. He said: What is your need, O Prophet of Allah? He said: My need is that my spirit is not taken until Gabriel (as) comes to me and gives his salaam to me and I give my salaam to him. So, the Angel of Truth went out, saying: O Muhammad! I will meet Gabriel in the air. So, he said: O Angel of Death! Did you take the spirit of Muhammad? He said: No, Gabriel. He asked me to not take his spirit until he meets you, receives your salaam, and gives his salaam. So, Gabriel said: O Angel of Death! Do you not see that the gates of Paradise are open for the spirit of Muhammad? Do you not see that the houris have adorned [themselves] for the spirit of Muhammad? Then, Gabriel (as) came down and said: Peace be unto you, Aba’l Qasim. So, he said: And also with you, Gabriel. Come closer to me, my beloved Gabriel. So, he came closer to him. Then, the Angel of Death came down. Gabriel said to him: O Angel of Death! Uphold the will of Allah with regards to the spirit of Muhammad. Gabriel was to his right, Michael was to his left, and the Angel of Death took his spirit (s).  When the veil was lifted from the face of the Messenger of Allah (s), he looked to Gabriel (as) and said to him: Adversity has befallen me! So, he said: O Muhammad! Surely, you are dead, and they are dead. Every soul shall taste death. Ibn `Abbas narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s) would say during that illness: Bring my beloved to me. So, they would bring man after man, and he would turn them away. So, it was said to Fatima (as): bring `Ali. We did not see that the Messenger of Allah (s) wanted anyone other than `Ali (as). So, Fatima sent for `Ali (as). When he entered, the Messenger of Allah (s) opened his eyes and his face lit up. Then, he said: To me, `Ali; to me, `Ali. He (s) did not stop getting closer to him until he took his hand and sat him down at his head. Then, he fainted. Then, al-Hasan and al-Husayn (as) came, screamed, and wept until they embraced the Messenger of Allah (s). `Ali (as) wanted to stop them, but the Messenger of Allah (s) awoke and said: O `Ali! Let me smell them and let them smell me. Let me seek contentment through them and let them seek contentment through me. Surely, they will be wronged after me, and they will be killed unjustly. So, may the curse of Allah be upon those who oppress them. He said this three times. Then, he reached his hand out to `Ali (as), and he pulled him beneath the garment that was on him. He put his mouth to his ear and whispered a prolonged whispering to him; till his pure spirit left him (s). Then, `Ali (as) came out from beneath his garments and said: May Allah make your rewards grand with regards to your Prophet, for Allah has brought him to Himself. Then, the voices rose in clamour and weeping. Then, it was said to Amir al-Mu’minin (as): What did the Messenger of Allah (s) whisper to you when you were beneath his garments? So, he said: He taught me one thousand doors, each door of which opens another thousand doors.

7 - حدثنا محمد بن الحسن بن أحمد بن الوليد، قال: حدثنا الحسن بن متيل، قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسين بن أبي الخطاب، عن موسى بن سعدان، عن عبد الله بن القاسم، عن عمر بن أبان الكلبي، عن أبان بن تغلب، قال: قال أبو عبد الله الصادق (عليه السلام): إن أربعة آلاف ملك هبطوا يريدون القتال مع الحسين بن علي (صلوات الله عليه) فلم يؤذن لهم في القتال، فرجعوا في الاستئذان، وهبطوا وقد قتل الحسين (عليه السلام)، فهم عند قبره شعث غير يبكونه إلى يوم القيامة، ورئيسهم ملك يقال له منصور (2).

Muhammad b. al-Hasan b. Ahmad b. al-Walid narrated to us. He said: Al-Hasan b. Matil narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Husayn b. Abi’l Khattab narrated to us from Musa b. Sa`dan from `Abdullah b. al-Qasim from `Amr b. Aban al-Kalbi from Aban b. Taghlub. He said: Abu `Abdillah al-Sadiq (as) said: Four thousand angels came down to fight alongside al-Husayn b. `Ali (as), but they were not permitted to fight. So, they went back to seek permission, and they came down [again], but al-Husayn (as) had been killed. So, they are at his grave, disheveled and weeping, until the Day of Resurrection. Their chief is an angel called Mansur (the victorious one).
