1 - حدثنا الشيخ الفقيه الجليل أبو جعفر محمد بن علي بن الحسين بن موسى بن بابويه القمي (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا أبي (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثني محمد بن أبي القاسم، عن محمد بن علي الكوفي، عن نصر بن مزاحم، عن أبي عبد الرحمن المسعودي، عن العلاء بن يزيد القرشي، قال: قال الصادق جعفر بن محمد (عليهم السلام): حدثني أبي، عن أبيه، عن جده (عليهم السلام)، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): شعبان شهري، وشهر رمضان شهر الله عز وجل، فمن صام يوما من شهري كنت شفيعه يوم القيامة، ومن صام يومين من شهري غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه، ومن صام ثلاثة أيام من شهري قيل له: استأنف العمل، ومن صام شهر رمضان فحفظ فرجه ولسانه وكف أذاه عن الناس، غفر الله له ذنوبه ما تقدم منها وما تأخر وأعتقه من النار، وأحله دار القرار، وقبل شفاعته في عدد رمل عالج من مذنبي أهل التوحيد (1).

Abu Ja`far Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. Musa b. Babuwayh al-Qummi rh) narrated to us. He said: My father (rh) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Abi’l Qasim narrated to me from Muhammad b. `Ali al-Kufi from Nasr b. Mazahim from Abi `Abd al-Rahman al-Mas`udi from al-`Alaa’ b. Yazid al-Qurashi. He said: Al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad (as) said: My father narrated to me from his father from his grandfather (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Sha`ban is my month, and Ramadan is the month of Allah. Whoever fasts a day in my month, I will intercede for him on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever fasts two days in my month, his past sins will be forgiven. Whoever fasts three days in my month, it will be said to him: “Resume your deeds” (i.e. you will start anew). Whoever fasts the month of Ramadan, guards his private, holds his tongue, and stops harming people, Allah will forgive his past and future sins, and He will make him free from the Fire, and He will put him in the Abode of Settlement, and He will accept his intercession for as many monotheist sinners as there are grains of sand.

2 - حدثنا محمد بن موسى بن المتوكل (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا علي بن الحسين السعد آبادي، عن أحمد بن أبي عبد الله البرقي، عن عبد العظيم بن عبد الله  الحسني، عن محمد بن علي بن موسى بن جعفر بن محمد بن علي بن الحسين بن علي بن أبي طالب، عن أبيه (عليهم السلام)، قال: دخل موسى بن جعفر (عليهما السلام) على هارون الرشيد، وقد استخفه الغضب على رجل، فقال له: إنما تغضب لله عز وجل، فلا تغضب له بأكثر مما غضب لنفسه (1)

موسى بن جعفر عليه السلام

على هارون الرشيد و قد استخفه الغضب على رجل فقال له

Muhammad b. Musa b. al-Mutawakkil (rh) narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. al-Husayn al-Sa`d al-Abidi narrated to us from Ahmad b. Abi `Abdullah al-Barqi from `Abd al-Athim b. `Abdullah al-Hasani from Muhammad b. `Ali b. Musa b. Ja`far b. Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. `Ali b. Abi Talib from his father (as). He said: Musa b. Ja`far (as) visited Harun al-Rashid, and he eased his anger against a man. So, he said to him: Only get angry for the sake of Allah. Do not get angrier on His behalf than He gets for Himself.

3 - حدثنا محمد بن الحسن (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسن الصفار، قال: حدثنا العباس بن معروف، قال: حدثنا محمد بن يحيى الخزاز، عن غياث بن إبراهيم، عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد، عن أبيه، عن جده (عليهم السلام)، قال: مر رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) بقوم يربعون (2) حجرا، قال: ما هذا؟ قالوا: نعرف بذلك أشدنا وأقوانا. فقال (صلى الله عليه وآله): ألا أخبركم بأشدكم وأقواكم؟ قالوا: بلى، يا رسول الله. قال: أشدكم وأقواكم الذي إذا رضي لم يدخله رضاه في إثم ولا باطل، وإذا سخط لم يخرجه سخطه من قول الحق، وإذا قدر لم يتعاط ما ليس له بحق (3).

بقوم يربعون حجرا فقال

Muhammad b. al-Hasan (rh) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan al-Saffar narrated to us. He said: Al-`Abbas b. Ma`ruf narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Yahya al-Khazzaz narrated to us from Ghiyath b. Ibrahim from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad from his father from his grandfather (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) passed by a people who were lifting a boulder competitively. He said: What is this? They said: Through this, we will know who is strongest among us. So, he (s) said: Shall I not inform you of who is strongest among you? They said: Of course, O Messenger of Allah. He said: The strongest among you is him who, when he becomes pleased, does not sin and transgress; and when he becomes discontented, does not allow his disconnectedness to lead him to say other than the truth; and when he comes to power, does not deal in that which he has no right in.

4 - حدثنا محمد بن أحمد السناني، قال: حدثنا محمد بن أبي عبد الله الكوفي، عن موسى بن عمران النخعي، عن عمه الحسين بن يزيد النوفلي، عن محمد بن سنان، عن المفضل بن عمر، عن يونس بن ظبيان، عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد (عليهم السلام)، أنه قال: الاشهار (4) بالعبادة ريبة، إن أبي حدثني عن أبيه، عن جده، عن علي (عليهم السلام): أن رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) قال: أعبد الناس من أقام الفرائض، وأسخى الناس من أدى زكاة ماله، وأزهد الناس من اجتنب الحرام، وأتقى الناس من قال الحق فيما له وعليه، وأعدل الناس من رضي للناس ما يرضى لنفسه، وكره لهم ما يكره لنفسه، وأكيس الناس من كان أشد ذكرا للموت، وأغبط الناس من كان تحت التراب قد أمن العقاب ويرجو الثواب، وأغفل الناس من لم يتعظ بتغير  الدنيا من حال إلي حال، وأعظم الناس في الدنيا خطرا من لم يجعل للدنيا عنده خطرا، وأعلم الناس من جمع علم الناس إلى علمه، وأشجع الناس من غلب هواه، وأكثر الناس قيمة أكثرهم علما، وأقل الناس قيمة أقلهم علما، وأقل الناس لذة الحسود، وأقل الناس راحة البخيل، وأبخل الناس من بخل بما افترض الله عز وجل عليه، وأولى الناس بالحق أعلمهم (1) به. وأقل الناس حرمة الفاسق، وأقل الناس وفاء الملوك، وأقل الناس صديقا الملك وأفقر الناس الطمع، وأغنى الناس من لم يكن للحرص أسيرا، وأفضل الناس إيمانا أحسنهم خلقا، وأكرم الناس أتقاهم، وأعظم الناس قدرا من ترك ما لا يعنيه، وأورع الناس من ترك المراء وإن كان محقا، وأقل الناس مروءة من كان كاذبا، وأشقى الناس الملوك، وأمقت الناس المتكبر، وأشد الناس اجتهادا من ترك الذنوب. وأحلم الناس من فر من جهال الناس، وأسعد الناس من خالط كرام الناس، وأعقل الناس أشدهم مداراة للناس، وأولى الناس بالتهمة من جالس أهل التهمة، وأعتى الناس من قتل غير قاتله، أو ضرب غير ضاربه، وأولى الناس بالعفو أقدرهم على العقوبة، وأحق الناس بالذنب السفيه المغتاب، وأذل الناس من أهان الناس، وأحزم الناس أكظمهم للغيظ، وأصلح الناس أصلحهم للناس، وخير الناس من انتفع به الناس (2).

أنه قال

Muhammad b. Ahmad al-Sinani narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Abi `Abdullah al-Kufi narrated to us from Musa b. `Imran al-Nakha`i from his uncle al-Husayn b. Yazid al-Nawfali from Muhammad b. Sinan from al-Mufaddal b. `Umar from Yunus b. Thibyan from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad (as) that he said: Gaining fame through worship is a suspicion. Surely, my father narrated to me from his father from his grandfather that `Ali (as) [said]: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: The most servile of people is one who establishes the obligations. The most generous of people is one who gives the zakat of his wealth. The most ascetic of people is one who avoids the forbidden. The most Godfearing of people is one who speaks the truth, whether it is for him or against him. The most just of people is one who wants for people what he wants for himself and hates for them what he hates for himself. The most mannered of people is one who frequently remembers death. The most blessed of people is one who, when he is under dust, seeks refuge from punishment and hopes for reward. The most heedless of people is one who does not benefit from the world’s changes from state to state. The greatest danger to the world is one who does not consider this world to be a danger to him. The most knowledgeable of people is one who adds the knowledge of the people to his knowledge. The boldest of people is one who conquers his desires. The most dignified of people is one who is most knowledgeable, and the least dignified of people is one who is least knowledgeable. The least delightful of people is one who is envious. The least affable of people is one who is stingy. The stingiest of people is one who is stingy in that which Allah has obliged for him. The most rightful of people is the most knowledgeable of them. The least sanctified of people is the depraved (fasiq). The least loyal of people are the kings. The least trustworthy of people is the king, and the poorest person is the greedy. The wealthiest person is one who is not a prisoner to his own protectiveness. The best person in faith is the best of them in character. The noblest of people is the most Godfearing. The greatest of people in strength is one who leaves what does not concern him. The most pious of people is one who abandons argumentation, even if he is right. The least chivalrous of people is a liar. The most wretched of people are the kings. The most abhorrent of people is the prideful. The most striving of people is one who abandons sin. The most forbearing of people is one who runs from the ignorance of the people. The happiest of people is one who mixes with the noblest people. The most intellectual of people is the politest to the people. The most blameworthy person is one who sits with those who blame. The most notorious of people is one who kills someone who was not fighting him or strikes someone who was not striking him. The person most worthy of pardon is one who is most capable of punishing others [but refrains]. The person most worthy of guilt is the foolish slanderer. The lowest of people is one who insults people. The most determined of people is one who withholds his anger. The most righteous of people is one who is righteous to the people. And, the best of people is one whom the people benefit from.

5 - حدثنا محمد بن علي (رحمه الله)، عن عمه محمد بن أبي القاسم، عن محمد بن علي الكوفي، عن محمد بن سنان، عن المفضل، عن جابر بن يزيد، عن أبي الزبير المكي، عن جابر بن عبد الله الانصاري، قال: قال النبي (صلى الله عليه وآله): إن الله تبارك وتعالى اصطفاني واختارني وجعلني رسولا، وأنزل علي سيد الكتب، فقلت: إلهي وسيدي، إنك أرسلت موسى إلى فرعون، فسألك أن تجعل معه أخاه هارون  وزيرا، تشد به عضده، وتصدق به قوله، وإني أسألك يا سيدي وإلهي أن تجعل لي من أهلي وزيرا، تشد به عضدي. فجعل الله لي عليا وزيرا وأخا، وجعل الشجاعة في قلبه، وألبسه الهيبة على عدوه، وهو أول من آمن بي وصدقني، وأول من وحد الله معي، وإني سألت ذلك ربي عز وجل فأعطانيه. فهو سيد الاوصياء، اللحوق به سعادة، والموت في طاعته شهادة، واسمه في التوراة مقرون إلى اسمي، وزوجته الصديقة الكبرى ابنتي، وابناه سيدا شباب أهل الجنة ابناي، وهو وهما والائمة بعدهم حجج الله على خلقه بعد النبيين، وهم أبواب العلم في أمتي، من تبعهم نجا من النار، ومن اقتدى بهم هدي إلى صراط مستقيم، لم يهب الله عز وجل محبتهم لعبد إلا أدخله الله الجنة (1).

Muhammad b. `Ali (rh) narrated to us from his uncle Muhammad b. Abi’l Qasim from Muhammad b. `Ali al-Kufi from Muhammad b. Sinan from al-Mufaddal from Jabir b. Yazid from Abi’l Zubayr al-Makki from Jabir b. `Abdullah al-Ansari. He said: The Prophet (s) said: Surely, Allah selected me, chose me, and made me a messenger. He revealed the Master of Books to me. So, I said: “My God and My Master! Surely, you sent Musa to Pharaoh, and he asked You if You could make his brother Harun a vizier to reinforce him and give further credibility to his words. O My Master and My God! I ask you to make for me a vizier from my family to reinforce me.” So, Allah made `Ali my vizier and my brother, and He emboldened his heart, and He dressed him in prestige over his enemies. He was the first to believe in me and the first to believe in Allah’s oneness with me. I asked my Lord for that and He granted it to me; so, he is the Master of Deputies. Following him is happiness and dying in obedience to him is martyrdom. His name in the Torah is attached to my name. His wife is the great saint, my daughter. His sons are the Masters of the Youth of Paradise, and they are my sons. He, his sons, and the Imams after them are the Proofs of Allah over His creation after the prophets. They are the gates of knowledge in my Nation. Whoever follows them will be delivered from the Fire, and whoever believes in them will be guided to the Straight Path. Allah does not cause a worshiper to love them except that He will bring him to Paradise.
