1 - حدثنا الشيخ الجليل أبو جعفر محمد بن علي بن الحسين بن موسى ابن بابويه القمي (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن بكران النقاش بالكوفة، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن محمد الهمداني، قال: حدثنا علي بن الحسن بن علي بن فضال، عن أبيه، عن أبي الحسن علي بن موسى الرضا (عليه السلام)، قال: إن أول ما خلق الله عز وجل ليعرف به خلقه الكتابة حروف المعجم، وإن الرجل إذا ضرب على رأسه بعصا، فزعم أنه لا يفصح ببعض الكلام، فالحكم فيه أن تعرض عليه حروف المعجم، ثم يعطى الدية بقدر ما لم يفصح منها. ولقد حدثني أبي، عن أبيه، عن جده، عن أمير المؤمنين (عليه السلام)، في ألف ب ت ث، أنه قال: الالف آلاء الله، والباء بهجة الله، والتاء تمام الامر بقائم آل محمد (صلى الله عليه وآله)، والثاء ثواب المؤمنين على أعمالهم الصالحة، ج ح خ فالجيم جمال الله وجلال الله، والحاء حلم الله عن المذنبين، والخاء خمول ذكر أهل المعاصي عند الله عز وجل، د ذ فالدال دين الله، والذال من ذي الجلال والاكرام، ر ز فالراء من الرؤوف الرحيم، والزاي زلازل القيامة، س ش فالسين سناء الله، والشين شاء الله ما شاء وأراد ما أراد، وما تشاؤون إلا أن يشاء الله.  ص ض فالصاد من صادق الوعد في حمل الناس على الصراط وحبس الظالمين عند المرصاد والضاد ضل من خالف محمدا وآل محمد، ط ظ فالطاء طوبى للمؤمنين وحسن مآب، والظاء ظن المؤمنين بالله خيرا وظن الكافرين به سوءا، ع غ فالعين من العالم، والغين من الغني، ف ق فالفاء فوج من أفواج النار، والقاف قرآن على الله جمعه وقرآنه، ك ل فالكاف من الكافي، واللام لغو الكافرين في افترائهم على الله الكذب، م ن فالميم ملك الله يوم لا ملك غيره، ويقول الله عز وجل: (لمن الملك اليوم) ثم ينطق أرواح أنبيائه ورسله وحججه فيقولون: (لله الواحد القهار) فيقول الله، جل جلاله: (اليوم تجزى كل نفس بما كسبت لا ظلم اليوم إن الله سريع الحساب) (1)، والنون نوال الله للمؤمنين ونكاله بالكافرين، وه فالواو ويل لمن عصى الله، والهاء هان على الله من عصاه، لا ي لام ألف لا إله إلا الله، وهي كلمة الاخلاص، ما من عبد قالها مخلصا إلا وجبت له الجنة، ي يد الله فوق خلقه باسطة بالرزق سبحانه وتعالى عما يشركون. ثم قال (عليه السلام): إن الله تبارك وتعالى أنزل هذا القرآن بهذه الحروف التي يتداولها جميع العرب، ثم قال: (لئن اجتمعت الانس والجن على أن يأتوا بمثل هذا القرءان لا يأتون بمثله ولو كان بعضهم لبعض ظهيرا) (2).

Abu Ja`far Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. Musa b. Babuwayh al-Qummi (ra) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Bukran al-Niqashi narrated to us in Kufa. He said: Ahmad b. Muhammad al-Hamadani narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. al-Hasan b. `Ali b. al-Faddal narrated to us from his father from Abi’l Hasan `Ali b. Musa al-Rida (as). He said: Surely, the first thing that Allah created to teach His creation writing was the alphabet. If a man is struck on the head with a staff, and it is thought that he cannot pronounce some words, then the ruling is that he is presented with the letters of the alphabet, and the culprit pays a fine for everything that he cannot pronounce. My father narrated to me from his father from his grandfather from Amir al-Mu’minin (as) regarding alif ba’ ta’ tha’ (the alphabet). He said: “A” is the signs (alaa’) of Allah. “B” is the delight (bahja) of Allah. “T” is the perfection (tamam) of the Order through the Qa’im of the Family of Muhammad (s). “Th” is the good deeds (thawab) of the believers for their righteous actions. “J” is the beauty (jamal) of Allah and the majesty (jalal) of Allah. The “Ḥ” is the forbearance (hilm) of Allah over the sinners. The “Kh” is the absence (khumul) of the people of sin in the remembrance of Allah. The “D” is the religion (din) of Allah. The “Dh” is the One of Majesty and Nobility (Dhul Jalali wal Ikram). The “R” is from the Kind, the Merciful (al-Ra’uf al-Rahim). The “Z” is the earthquakes (zalazil) of the Resurrection. The “S” is the splendour (sana’) of Allah. The “Sh” is that Allah wills (sha’) what He wishes and decrees what He decrees. You do not will unless Allah wills. The “Ṣ” is the truthful promise (sadiq al-wa`d) that the people will be carried over the Path (sirat) and the transgressors will be trapped at the lookout (mirsad). The “Ḍ” is: whoever turns away from Muhammad and the Family of Muhammad has gone astray (dal). The “Ṭ” is Tuba is for the believers “and a goodly reward” (13:29). The “Ṭh” is the good impression (thun) that believers have of Allah and the poor impression that the disbelievers have of Him. The “ʿA” is knowledge (`ilm). The “Gh” is the Needless (al-ghani). The “F” is a crowd (fawj) from the crowds of the Fire. The “Q” is that the responsibility of the collection and the recitation of the Quran is on Allah. “K” is the Sufficient (al-Kafi). “L” is the disbelievers’ slander (laghw) of Allah. The “M” is the mastery (mulk) of Allah on a Day where there is no mastery except His. Allah says, “To whom is the mastery [of all things] today?” (40:16) Then, the spirits of His prophets, His messengers, and His Proofs will say: “For Allah, the One, the Triumphant.” (40:16) So, Allah will say: “This Day, every soul will be recompensed for what it earned. No injustice today! Surely, Allah is swift in account.” (40:17) The “N” is what the Allah will give (nawal) the believers and His torment (nakal) of the disbelievers. The “W” is woe (wayl) to one who disobeys Allah. The “H” the humiliation (han) that Allah will cause those who disobey Him. The “L” is one thousand la ilaha illallah, which is the saying of sincerity – there is no worshiper who says it sincerely except that Paradise becomes obligatory for him. The “Y” is the hand (yad) of Allah, which is above His creation, distributing sustenance – may He be glorified of those who associate partners with Him. Then, he (as) said: Surely, Allah revealed this Quran with these letters that all the Arabs use. Then, he said: “If mankind and the Jinn gathered in order to produce the like of this Quran, they would not produce the like of it, even if they supported one another.” (17:88)

2 - حدثنا الحسن بن عبد الله بن سعيد العسكري، قال: حدثنا محمد بن أحمد بن حمدان القشيري، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن عيسى الكلابي، قال حدثنا موسى ابن إسماعيل بن موسى بن جعفر بن محمد بن علي بن الحسين بن علي بن أبي طالب (عليه السلام) سنة خمس ومائتين، قال: حدثني أبي، عن أبيه، عن جده جعفر بن محمد، عن أبيه، عن آبائه، عن علي بن أبي طالب (عليهم السلام)، قال: قال رسول  الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): من قرأ في دبر صلاة الجمعة بفاتحة الكتاب مرة و (قل هو الله أحد) سبع مرات، وفاتحة الكتاب مرة و (قل أعوذ برب الفلق) سبع مرات وفاتحة الكتاب مرة و (قل أعوذ برب الناس) سبع مرات لم تنزل به بلية، ولم تصبه فتنة إلى يوم الجمعة الاخرى، فإن قال: اللهم اجعلني من أهل الجنة التي حشوها بركة وعمارها ملائكة مع نبينا محمد (صلى الله عليه وآله) وأبينا إبراهيم (عليه السلام)، جمع الله عز وجل بينه وبين محمد وإبراهيم في دار السلام (صلى الله على محمد وإبراهيم وعلى آلهما الطاهرين) (1).

Al-Hasan b. `Abdullah b. Sa`id al-`Askari narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Ahmad b. Hamdan al-Qushayri narrated to us. He said: Ahmad b. `Isa al-Kilabi narrated to us. He said: Musa b. Isma`il b. Musa b. Ja`far b. Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. `Ali b. Abi Talib (as) narrated to me in 205 AH. He said: My father narrated to me from his father from his grandfather Ja`far b. Muhammad from his father from his forefathers from `Ali b. Abi Talib (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Whoever recites, after the Friday prayer, the Fatiha once, qul huwallahu ahad seven times, the Fatiha once, qul a`uthu bi rabb al-falaq seven times, the Fatiha once, and qul a`uthu bi rabb al-nas seven times will not be afflicted with a calamity or a temptation until the next Friday. If he says: “O Allah! Make me from the people of Paradise, which is filled with blessing and is built by angels, with our Prophet Muhammad (s), and our father Ibrahim (as). (Allahumma ja`alni min ahl al-jannati lati hushuha baraka wa `ammaraha mala’ika ma` nabiyyina Muhammadan salla llahu `alayhi wa aalih wa abina Ibrahim `alayhis salam)”, Allah will make him among Muhammad and Ibrahim in the Abode of Peace – may the blessings of Allah be upon Muhammad and Ibrahim and their pure families.

3 - حدثنا أبي (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا سعد بن عبد الله وعبد الله بن جعفر الحميري جميعا، عن يعقوب بن يزيد، قال: حدثنا محمد بن أبي عمير، عن علي بن أبي حمزة، عن أبي بصير، عن أبي حمزة الثمالي، عن زين العابدين علي بن الحسين (عليهما السلام)، قال: كان في بني إسرائيل رجل ينبش القبور، فاعتل جار له فخاف الموت، فبعث إلى النباش، فقال له: كيف كان جواري لك؟ قال: أحسن جوار. قال: فإن لي إليك حاجة. قال: قضيت حاجتك. قال: فأخرج إليه كفنين، فقال: أحب أن تأخذ أحبهما إليك، وإذا دفنت فلا تنبشني. فامتنع النباش من ذلك، وأبى أن يأخذه، فقال له الرجل: أحب أن تأخذه، فلم يزل به حتى أخذ أحبهما إليه. ومات الرجل، فلما دفن قال النباش: هذا قد دفن، فما علمه بأني تركت كفنه أو أخذته، لآخذنه، فأتى قبره فنبشه، فسمع صائحا يقول ويصيح به: لا تفعل، ففزع النباش من ذلك، فتركه وترك ما كان عليه، وقال لولده: إي أب كنت لكم؟ قالوا: نعم الاب كنت لنا. قال: فإن لي إليكم حاجة. قالوا: قل ما شئت، فإنا سنصير إليه إن شاء الله. قال: فأحب إذا أنا مت أن تأخذوني فتحرقوني بالنار، فإذا صرت رمادا فدقوني (2)، ثم تعمدوا بي ريحا عاصفا، فذروا نصفي في البر، ونصفي في البحر، قالوا: نفعل.  فلما مات فعل به ولده ما أوصاهم به، فلما ذروه قال الله جل جلاله للبر: اجمع ما فيك، وقال للبحر: اجمع ما فيك. فإذا الرجل قائم بين يدي الله جل جلاله. فقال الله عز وجل: ما حملك على ما أوصيت به ولدك أن يفعلوه بك؟ قال: حملني على ذلك - وعزتك - خوفك. فقال الله جل جلاله: فإني سأرضي خصومك وقد آمنت خوفك، وغفرت لك (1).

قال

My father (ra) narrated to us. He said: Sa`d b. `Abullah and `Abdullah b. Ja`far al-Himyari narrated to us together from Ya`qub b. Yazid. He said: Muhammad b. Abi `Umayr narrated to us from `Ali b. Abi Hamza from Abi Basir from Abi Hamza al-Thumali from Zayn al-`Abidin `Ali b. al-Husayn (as). He said: Among the Children of Israel was a man who would exhume graves. So, a neighbour of his became ill and feared death. So, he sent for the exhumer and said to him: “How was my neighbourliness toward you?” He said: “It was the most beautiful neighbourliness.” He said: “Then I need something from you.” He said: “Your need is fulfilled.” He said: So, he brought out two shrouds for him and said: “I want you to take the one that is more beloved to you, so that when I am buried, you do not exhume me.” So, the exhumer refrained from that and refused to take it. So, the man said to him: “I would love for you to take it.” So, he did not stop with him until he took the one that was more beloved to him. So, the man died. When he was buried, the exhumer said: “He has been buried, so how would he know whether I left his shroud or took it? I will take it.” So, he went to his grave and exhumed it, when he heard a voice screaming: “Do not do it.” So, the exhumer was surprised by that, so he left him and abandoned what he was doing. He said to his children: “What kind of father was I to you?” They son: “You were the best of fathers to us.” He said: “Then I need something from you.” They said: “Say what you wish, for we will fulfill it, God-willingly.” He said: “When I die, I want you to take me and burn me with fire. When I become ashes, put me down, then cast me in a stormy wind – half toward the earth, and half toward the sea.” They said: “We will do so.” When he died, his children did what he advised them to do. When they cast him, Allah said to the earth: “Gather what is in you”, and He said to the sea: “Gather what is in you”. Then, the man stood before Allah. So, Allah said: “What caused you to advise your children to do this to you?” He said: “By Your glory, fear of You caused me to do this.” So, Allah said: “I will satisfy your victims, accept your fear, and forgive you.”

4 - حدثنا جعفر بن علي بن الحسن بن علي بن عبد الله بن المغيرة الكوفي (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثني جدي الحسن بن علي، عن جده عبد الله بن المغيرة، عن إسماعيل بن مسلم، عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد، عن أبيه، عن آبائه (عليهم السلام)، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): إذ أعد الرجل كفنه، كان مأجورا كلما نظر إليه (2).

Ja`far b. `Ali b. al-Hasan b. `Ali b. `Abdullah b. al-Mughira al-Kufi (ra) narrated to us. He said: My grandfather al-Hasan b. `Ali narrated to me from his grandfather `Abdullah b. al-Mughira from Isma`il b. Muslim from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad from his father from his forefathers (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: When a man prepares his shroud, he is rewarded for every time he looks at it.

5 - حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن يحيى العطار (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا سعد بن عبد الله، عن أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى، عن أبيه، عن محمد بن أبي عمير، عن علي ابن أبي حمزة، عن أبي بصير، عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد، عن آبائه، عن علي (عليهم السلام)، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): إن في الجنة غرفا يرى ظاهرها من باطنها، وباطنها من ظاهرها، يسكنها من أمتي من أطاب الكلام، وأطعم الطعام، وأفشى السلام، وصلى بالليل والناس نيام. فقال علي (عليه السلام): يا رسول الله، ومن يطيق هذا من أمتك؟ فقال: يا علي، أو ما تدري ما إطابة الكلام؟ من قال إذا أصبح وأمسى: سبحان الله، والحمد لله، ولا إله إلا الله، والله أكبر، عشر مرات. وإطعام الطعام: نفقة الرجل على عياله، وأما الصلاة بالليل والناس نيام: فمن صلى المغرب والعشاء الآخرة وصلاة الغداة في المسجد في جماعة، فكأنما أحيا الليل كله، وإفشاء السلام: أن لا يبخل بالسلام على أحد من المسلمين (3).

Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Yahya al-`Attar (rh) narrated to us. He said: Sa`d b. `Abdullah narrated to us from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. `Isa from his father from Muhammad b. Abi `Umayr from `Ali b. Abi Hamza from Abi Basir from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad from his forefathers from `Ali (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Surely, in Paradise there is a room whose outside could be seen from its inside, and whose inside could be seen from its outside. Those of my Nation who purified their words, fed people food, spread peace, and prayed at night while the people slept will inhabit it. So, `Ali (as) said: O Messenger of Allah! Who will be able to do this from your Nation? So, he said: O `Ali! Do you not comprehend what the purification of words is? It is saying, when you awake and when you go to sleep, “May Allah be glorified, praise be to Allah, there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest (subhanallah, walhamdulillah, wa la ilaha illallah, wallahu akbar)” ten times. Feeding people food is the expense of a man on his family. As for praying at night when the people are asleep: whoever prays Maghrib, the final `Isha’, and the morning prayer in the mosque in congregation, it is as though he kept vigil all night. As for spreading peace: it is not being stingy in greeting every single Muslim with the salaam.

- حدثنا الحسين بن أحمد بن إدريس (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا أبي، عن أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى، عن الحسن بن علي بن فضال، عن الحسن بن الجهم، عن الفضيل بن يسار، قال: قال الصادق جعفر بن محمد (عليهما السلام): ما ضعف بدن عما قويت عليه النية (1).

He said: Al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad (as) said: The body does not weaken if one strengthens it with his intention.

7 - حدثنا الحسين بن إبراهيم بن ناتانة (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا علي بن إبراهيم، عن أبيه، عن الحسن بن علي بن فضال، عن غالب بن عثمان، عن شعيب العقرقوفي، عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد (عليهما السلام)، قال: من ملك نفسه إذا رغب، وإذا رهب، وإذا اشتهى، وإذا غضب، وإذا رضي، حرم الله جسده على النار (2).

Al-Hasan b. Ibrahim b. Natana (rh) narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. Ibrahim narrated to us from his father from al-Hasan b. `Ali b. Faddal from Ghalib b. `Uthman from Shu`ayb al-`Aqraqufi from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad (as). He said: Whomever exercises control over himself when he desires, when he is terrified, when he craves, when he is angry, and when he is pleased, Allah will forbid his body from the Fire.

8 - حدثنا علي بن أحمد بن موسى (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن أبي عبد الله الكوفي، عن سهل بن زياد الآدمي، عن مبارك مولى الرضا، عن الرضا علي بن موسى (عليهما السلام)، قال: لا يكون المؤمن مؤمنا حتى يكون فيه ثلاث خصال: سنة من ربه، وسنة من نبيه، وسنة من وليه، فأما السنة من ربه فكتمان سره، قال الله جل جلاله: (عالم الغيب فلا يظهر على غيبه أحدا * إلا من ارتضى من رسول) (3)، وأما السنة من نبيه فمداراة الناس، فإن الله عز وجل أمر نبيه (صلى الله عليه وآله) بمداراة الناس، فقال: (خذ العفو وأمر بالعرف وأعرض عن الجاهلين) (4)، وأما السنة من وليه فالصبر في البأساء والضراء، يقول الله عز وجل: (والصابرين في البأساء والضراء وحين البأس أولئك الذين صدقوا وأولئك هم المتقون) (5).

`Ali b. Ahmad b. Musa (ra) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Abi `Abdillah al-Kufi narrated to us from Sahl b. Ziyad al-Adami from Mubarak the servant of al-Rida from al-Rida `Ali b. Musa (as). He said: A believer cannot be a believer until he has three characteristics: (1) A quality from his Lord, (2) a quality from his Prophet, and (3) a quality from his wali. As for the quality from his Lord, it is to conceal his secret. Allah says, “He is the Knower of the Unseen, disclosing it to no one.” (72:26) As for the quality from his Prophet, it is to be friendly with the people, for Allah ordered His Prophet (s) to be friendly with the people, saying, “Take to clemency, enjoin in established virtues, and veer away from the ignorant.” (7:199) As for the quality from his wali, it is to be patient during distress and affliction. Allah says, “Those who are patient during distress and affliction and time of tribulation: these are the ones who have been sincere, and these are the ones who have been Godfearing.” (2:177)

9 - حدثنا أحمد بن هارون الفامي (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن عبد الله بن جعفر الحميري، عن أبيه، عن محمد بن الحسين بن أبي الخطاب، عن الحسين  بن علوان، عن عمرو بن ثابت، عن داود بن عبد الجبار، عن جابر بن يزيد الجعفي، عن أبي جعفر محمد بن علي الباقر عن آبائه (عليهم السلام)، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) للحسين (عليه السلام): يا حسين، يخرج من صلبك رجل يقال له زيد، يتخطى وهو وأصحابه يوم القيامة رقاب الناس، غرا محجلين يدخلون الجنة بلا حساب (1).

Ahmad b. Harun al-Fami (ra) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. `Abdullah b. Ja`far al-Himyari narrated to us from his father from Muhammad b. al-Husayn b. Abi’l Khattab from al-Husayn b. `Ilwan from `Amr b. Thabit from Dawud b. `Abd al-Jabbar from Jabir b. Yazid al-Ju`fi from Abi Ja`far Muhammad b. `Ali al-Baqir from his forefathers (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said to al-Husayn (as): O Husayn! A man called Zayd will come from your loins. He and his companions will surpass the necks of the people on the Day of Resurrection. They will be shining believers who will enter Paradise without judgment.

10 - حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن رزمة القزويني، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن عيسى العلوي الحسيني، قال: حدثنا عباد بن يعقوب الاسدي، قال: حدثنا حبيب بن أرطاة، عن محمد بن ذكوان (2)، عن عمرو بن خالد، قال: حدثني زيد بن علي (عليه السلام) وهو آخذ بشعره، قال: حدثني أبي علي بن الحسين (عليهما السلام) وهو آخذ بشعره، قال: حدثني الحسين بن علي (عليهما السلام) وهو آخذ بشعره، قال: حدثني علي بن أبي طالب (عليه السلام) وهو آخذ بشعره، عن رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) وهو آخذ بشعره، قال: من آذى شعرة مني فقد آذاني، ومن آذاني فقد آذى الله، ومن آذى الله لعنه الله ملء السماء وملء الارض (3).

Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Razma al-Qazwini narrated to us. He said: Ahmad b. `Isa al-`Alawi al-Husayni narrated to us. He said: `Abbad b. Ya`qub al-Asadi narrated to us. He said: Habib b. Arta narrated to us from Muhammad b. Dhakwan from `Amr b. Khalid. He said: Zayd b. `Ali (as) narrated to me while he was grasping his hair: My father `Ali b. al-Husayn (as) narrated to me while he was grasping his hair. He said: Al-Husayn b. `Ali (as) narrated to me while he was grasping his hair. He said: `Ali b. Abi Talib (as) narrated to me while he was grasping onto his hair from the Messenger of Allah (s) while he was grasping onto his hair. He said: Whoever assails one hair of mine will have assailed me, and whoever assails me has assailed Allah. Whoever assails Allah, then Allah’s curse of him will fill the heavens and fill the Earth.

11 - حدثنا محمد بن علي ماجيلويه (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثني عمي محمد بن أبي القاسم، قال: حدثني أحمد بن أبي عبد الله البرقي، عن أبيه محمد بن خالد، عن خلف بن حماد الاسدي، عن أبي الحسن العبدي، عن الاعمش، عن عباية ابن ربعي، قال: إن شابا من الانصار كان يأتي عبد الله بن عباس، وكان عبد الله يكرمه ويدنيه، فقيل له: إنك تكرم هذا الشاب وتدنيه، وهو شاب سوء يأتي القبور فينبشها بالليالي! فقال عبد الله بن عباس: إذا كان ذلك فأعلموني. قال: فخرج الشاب في بعض الليالي يتخلل القبور، فاعلم عبد الله بن عباس  بذلك، فخرج لينظر ما يكون من أمره، ووقف ناحية ينظر إليه من حيث لا يراه الشاب، قال: فدخل قبرا قد حفر، ثم اضطجع في اللحد، ونادى بأعلى صوته: يا ويحي إذا دخلت لحدي وحدي، ونطقت الارض من تحتي، فقالت: لا مرحبا بك ولا أهلا، قد كنت أبغضك وأنت على ظهري، فكيف وقد صرت في بطني! بل ويحي إذا نظرت إلى الانبياء وقوفا، والملائكة صفوفا، فمن عدلك غدا من يخلصني؟ ومن المظلومين من يستنقذني؟ ومن عذاب النار من يجيرني؟ عصيت من ليس بأهل أن يعصى، عاهدت ربي مرة بعد اخرى فلم يجد عندي صدقا ولا وفاء. وجعل يردد هذا الكلام ويبكي. فلما خرج من القبر التزمه ابن عباس وعانقه، ثم قال له: نعم النباش، نعم النباش، ما أنبشك للذنوب والخطايا، ثم تفرقا (1).

...فقال

Muhammad b. `Ali Majiluwayh (ra) narrated to us. He said: My uncle Muhammad b. Abi’l Qasim narrated to me. He said: Ahmad b. Abi `Abdillah al-Barqi narrated to me from his father Muhammad b. Khalid from Khalaf b. Hammad al-Asadi from Abi’l Hasan al-`Abdi from al-A`mash from `Abaya b. Rabi`i. He said: A young man from the Ansar used to come to `Abdullah b. `Abbas, and `Abdullah used to honour him and bring him close. So, it was said to him: You honour this young man and bring him close while he is an evil young man who goes to the graves and exhumes them at night! So, `Abdullah b. `Abbas said: If that were the case, then inform me. He said: So, the young man went out one night and began digging up a grave. `Abdullah b. `Abbas was informed of that, so he went to investigate his matter. He stood in a position where the young man could not see him. He said: So, he entered the grave that he dug. Then, he lay in the grave, and called out at the top of his voice: “Woe to me! When I enter lonely and alone, and the Earth sinks beneath me, it says: ‘No greeting and no welcome to you. I hated you while you were on my back, so how about while you are in my stomach!’ Surely, woe to me when I look at the prophets standing and the angels in rows. Who will save me from Your justice tomorrow? Who will deliver me from the tormented ones? Who will take me out of the punishment of the Fire? I disobeyed He who cannot be disobeyed. I made promises to my Lord, again and again, yet no sincerity nor loyalty was found in me.” He repeated this and wept. When he got out of the grave, Ibn `Abbas embraced him, and then said to him: The best of exhumers, the best of exhumers, the best of exhumers! Your exhuming is not for sins or errors. Then, they went.

12 - حدثنا محمد بن إبراهيم بن إسحاق (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا أحمد ابن محمد الهمداني مولى بني هاشم، قال: أخبرنا المنذر بن محمد، قال: حدثنا جعفر ابن إسماعيل، عن عبد الله بن الفضل الهاشمي، عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد، عن أبيه، عن جده، عن أبيه (عليهم السلام)، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): إذا كان يوم القيامة نادى مناد: أين زين العابدين؟ فكأني أنظر إلى ولدي علي بن الحسين بن علي ابن أبي طالب يخطر (2) بين الصفوف (3)

Muhammad b. Ibrahim b. Ishaq (ra) narrated to us. He said: Ahmad b. Muhammad al-Hamadani the servant of Bani Hashim. He said: Al-Mundhir b. Muhammad informed us. He said: Ja`far b. Isma`il narrated to us from `Abdullah b. al-Fadl al-Hashimi from Al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad from his father from his grandfather from his father (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: On the Day of Resurrection, a caller will call: “Where is Zayn al-`Abidin (the Ornament of Worshipers; the fourth Imam)?” It is as though I am looking at my descendant `Ali b. al-Husayn b. `Ali b. Abi Talib swaying between the rows.

533 / 13 - حدثنا محمد بن أحمد السناني (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن جعفر الكوفي الاسدي، قال: حدثنا محمد بن إسماعيل البرمكي، قال: حدثنا عبد الله ابن أحمد، قال: حدثنا القاسم بن سليمان، عن ثابت بن أبي صفية، عن سعيد بن علاقة، عن أبي سعيد عقيصا، عن سيد الشهداء الحسين بن علي بن  أبي طالب (عليهم السلام)، عن سيد الاوصياء أمير المؤمنين علي بن أبي طالب (عليه السلام) قال: قال لي رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): يا علي، أنت أخي، وأنا أخوك، أنا المصطفى للنبوة، وأنت المجتبى للامامة، وأنا صاحب التنزيل، وأنت صاحب التأويل، وأنا وأنت أبوا هذه الامة. يا علي، أنت وصيي وخليفتي، ووزيري ووارثي، وأبو ولدي، شيعتك شيعتي، وأنصارك أنصاري، وأولياؤك أوليائي، وأعداؤك أعدائي. يا علي، أنت صاحبي على الحوض غدا، وأنت صاحبي في المقام المحمود، وأنت صاحب لوائي في الآخرة، كما أنت صاحب لوائي في الدنيا، لقد سعد من تولاك، وشقي من عاداك، وإن الملائكة لتتقرب إلى الله - تقدس ذكره - بمحبتك وولايتك، والله إن أهل مودتك في السماء لاكثر منهم في الارض. يا علي، أنت أمين (1) أمتي، وحجة الله عليها بعدي، قولك قولي، وأمرك أمري، وطاعتك طاعتي، وزجرك زجري، ونهيك نهيي، ومعصيتك معصيتي، وحزبك حزبي، وحزبي حزب الله (ومن يتول الله ورسوله والذين ءامنوا فإن حزب الله هم الغالبون) (2).

عن سيد الأوصياء أمير المؤمنين علي بن أبي طالب ع قال قال

Muhammad b. Ahmad al-Sinani (ra) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Ja`far al-Kufi al-Asadi narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Isma`il al-Barmaki narrated to us. He said: `Abdullah b. Ahmad narrated to us. He said: Al-Qasim b. Sulayman narrated to us from Thabit b. Abi Safiyya from Sa`id b. `Alaqa from Abi Sa`id `Aqisa from the Master of Martyrs al-Husayn b. `Ali b. Abi Talib (as) from the Master of Deputies Amir al-Mu’minin `Ali b. Abi Talib (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said to me: O `Ali! You are my brother, and I am your brother. I was chosen for prophethood, and you were selected for Imamate. I am the patron of revelation, and you are the patron of interpretation. You and I are the two fathers of this Nation. O `Ali! You are my deputy, my vicegerent (khalifa), my vizier, and my inheritor. You are the father of my descendants. Your partisans (shi`a) are my partisans, and your supporters are my supporters. Your friends are my friends, and your enemies are my enemies. O `Ali! You are my companion over the Pond anon. You are my companion in the Praiseworthy Station (maqam al-mahmud). You are my standard bearer in the Hereafter just as you are my standard bearer in this world. Whoever aligns with you will be made happy, and whoever opposes you will be made wretched. Surely, the angels gain nearness to Allah through your love and your wilaya. By Allah, there are more who love you in heaven than there are on Earth. O `Ali! You are the trustee of my Nation and the Proof of Allah over it after me. Your words are my words, your order is my order, obedience to you is obedience to me, your rebuke is my rebuke, your prohibition is my prohibition, and disobedience to you is disobedience to me. Your party is my party, and my party is the Party of Allah. “Whoever aligns with Allah, His Messenger, and those who believe, then surely, the Party of Allah will prevail.” (5:56)
