1 - حدثنا الشيخ الجليل أبو جعفر محمد بن علي بن الحسين بن موسى ابن بابويه القمي (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن موسى بن المتوكل (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا علي بن الحسين السعد آبادي، عن أحمد بن أبي عبد الله البرقي، عن أبيه، عن محمد بن سنان، عن المفضل بن عمر، عن أبي الجارود، عن جابر بن يزيد الجعفي، عن جابر بن عبد الله الانصاري، قال: خطبنا أمير المؤمنين علي بن أبي طالب (عليه السلام)، فحمد الله وأثنى عليه، ثم قال: أيها الناس، إن قدام منبركم هذا أربعة رهط من أصحاب رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله)، منهم: أنس بن مالك، والبراء بن عازب الانصاري، والاشعث ابن قيس الكندي، وخالد بن يزيد البجلي، ثم أقبل بوجهه على أنس بن مالك، فقال: يا أنس، إن كنت سمعت رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) يقول: من كنت مولاه فهذا علي مولاه، ثم لم تشهد لي اليوم بالولاية، فلا أماتك الله حتى يبتليك ببرص لا تغطيه العمامة. وأما أنت يا أشعث، فإن كنت سمعت رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) وهو يقول: من كنت مولاه فهذا علي مولاه، اللهم وال من والاه، وعاد من عاداه، ثم لم تشهد لي اليوم بالولاية، فلا أماتك الله حتى يذهب بكريمتيك.  وأما أنت يا خالد بن يزيد، إن كنت سمعت رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) يقول: من كنت مولاه فهذا علي مولاه، اللهم وال من والاه وعاد من عاداه، ثم لم تشهد لي اليوم بالولاية، فلا أماتك الله إلا ميتة جاهلية. وأما أنت يا براء بن عازب، إن كنت سمعت رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) يقول: من كنت مولاه فهذا علي مولاه، اللهم وال من والاه وعاد من عاداه، ثم لم تشهد لي اليوم بالولاية، فلا أماتك الله إلا حيث هاجرت منه. قال جابر بن عبد الله الانصاري: والله رأيت أنس بن مالك وقد ابتلي ببرص يغطيه بالعمامة فما تستره، ولقد رأيت الاشعث بن قيس وقد ذهبت كريمتاه، وهو يقول: الحمد لله الذي جعل دعاء أمير المؤمنين علي بن أبي طالب علي بالعمي في الدنيا، ولم يدع علي بالعذاب في الآخرة فاعذب. فأما خالد بن يزيد فإنه مات، فأراد أهله أن يدفنوه، وحفر له في منزله، فدفن، فسمعت بذلك كندة، فجاءت بالخيل والابل فعقرتها على باب منزله، فمات ميتة جاهلية، وأما البراء بن عازب فإنه ولاه معاوية اليمن، فمات بها، ومنها كان هاجر (1).

فحمد الله و أثنى عليه ثم قال أيها الناس إن قدام منبركم هذا أربعة رهط من أصحاب محمد ص منهم أنس بن مالك و البراء بن عازب الأنصاري

و الأشعث بن قيس الكندي و خالد بن يزيد البجلي

Abu Ja`far Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. Musa b. Babuwayh al-Qummi (ra) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Musa b. al-Mutawakkil (rh) narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. al-Husayn al-Sa`d Abadi narrated to us rom Ahmad b. Abi `Abdullah al-Barqi from his father from Muhammad b. Sinan from al-Mufaddal b. `Umar from Abi’l Jarud from Jabir b. Yazid al-Ju`fi from Jabir b. `Abdullah al-Ansari. He said: Amir al-Mu’minin `Ali b. Abi Talib (as) delivered a sermon to us. He praised Allah and commended him, then said: O people! In front of this pulpit are a group of four from the companions of the Messenger of Allah (s) – Anas b. Malik, al-Bara’ b. `Azib al-Ansari, al-Ash`ath b. Qays al-Kindi, and Khalid b. Yazid al-Bajali. Then, he turned his face to Anas b. Malik and said: O Anas! You had heard the Messenger of Allah (s) say: “Whoever takes me as a Master, then `Ali is his Master.” Yet, you did not bear witness to my wilaya today. So, may Allah not cause you to die until He afflicts you with a leprosy that cannot be covered by a turban. As for you, Ash`ath, you had heard the Messenger of Allah (s) say: “Whoever takes me as a Master, then `Ali is his Master. O Allah! Befriend whoever befriends him and oppose whoever opposes him.” Yet, you did not bear witness to my wilaya today. So, may Allah not cause you to die until both your eyes go blind. As for you, Khalid b. Yazid, you had heard the Messenger of Allah (s) say: “Whoever takes me as a Master, then `Ali is his Master. O Allah! Befriend whoever befriends him and oppose whoever opposes him.” Yet, you did not bear witness to my wilaya today. So, may Allah not cause you to die except the death of Jahiliyya. As for you, Bara’ b. `Azib, you had heard the Messenger of Allah (s) say: “Whoever takes me as a Master, then `Ali is his Master. O Allah! Befriend whoever befriends him and oppose whoever opposes him.” Yet, you did not bear witness to my wilaya today. So, may Allah not cause you to die except in the place that you emigrated from. Jabir b. `Abdullah al-Ansari said: By Allah, I saw Anas b. Malik when he was afflicted with leprosy. He would try to cover it with a turban, but he could not hide it. I saw al-Ash`ath b. Qays’ eyes go blind; saying: “Praise be to Allah who made Amir al-Mu’minin `Ali b. Abi Talib pray that I go blind in this world rather than pray that I be punished in the Hereafter.” As for Khalid b. Yazid – when he died, his family wanted to bury him, and they dug [a grave] in his house and buried him. When Kindah heard about that, they brought a horse and a camel and slaughtered them [as done in the custom of Jahiliyya], so he died the death of Jahiliyya. As for al-Bara’ b. `Azib, Mu`awiya had appointed him over Yemen, and he died therein, which is where he emigrated from.

2 - حدثنا محمد بن عمر الحافظ، قال: حدثنا أبو عبد الله جعفر بن محمد الحسني، قال: حدثنا محمد بن علي بن خلف، قال: حدثنا سهل بن عامر، قال: حدثنا زافر بن سليمان، عن شريك، عن أبي إسحاق، قال: قلت لعلي بن الحسين (عليه السلام): ما معنى قول النبي (صلى الله عليه وآله): من كنت مولاه فعلي مولاه؟ قال: أخبرهم أنه الامام بعده (2).

Muhammad b. `Umar al-Hafith narrated to us. He said: Abu `Abdullah Ja`far b. Muhammad al-Hasani narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. `Ali b. Khalaf narrated to us. He said: Sahl b. `Amer narrated to us. He said: Zafir b. Sulayman narrated to us from Sharik from Abi Ishaq. He said: I said to `Ali b. al-Husayn (as): What is the meaning of the saying of the Prophet (s): “Whoever takes me as a Master, then `Ali is his Master”? He said: He is informing them that he is the Imam after him.

3 - حدثنا الحسين بن إبراهيم (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا علي بن إبراهيم، عن جعفر بن سلمة الاصبهاني، عن إبراهيم بن محمد، قال: حدثنا القناد (3)، قال: حدثنا  علي بن هاشم بن البريد، عن أبيه، قال: سئل زيد بن علي (عليه السلام) عن قول رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): من كنت مولاه فعلي مولاه. قال: نصبه علما ليعلم به حزب الله عند الفرقة (1).

عن قول رسول الله ص...قال

Al-Husayn b. Ibrahim (rh) narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. Ibrahim narrated to us from Ja`far b. Salama al-Isfahani from Ibrahim b. Muhammad. He said: Al-Qinad narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. Hashim b. Burayd narrated to us from his father. He said: Zayd b. `Ali (as) was asked about the saying of the Messenger of Allah (s): “Whoever takes me as a Master, then `Ali is his Master.” He said: He set him up as a sign so that it may be known through him who the Party of Allah were during the split.

4 - أخبرني علي بن حاتم (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن سعيد الهمداني، قال: حدثنا جعفر بن عبد الله المحمدي، قال: حدثنا كثير بن عياش، عن أبي الجارود، عن أبي جعفر (عليه السلام)، في قول الله عز وجل: (إنما وليكم الله ورسوله والذين ءامنوا) الآية، قال: إن رهطا من اليهود أسلموا، منهم: عبد الله بن سلام وأسد وثعلبة وابن يامين وابن صوريا، فأتوا النبي (صلى الله عليه وآله) فقالوا: يا نبي الله، إن موسى (عليه السلام) أوصى إلى يوشع بن نون، فمن وصيك يا رسول الله، ومن ولينا بعدك؟ فنزلت هذه الآية: (إنما وليكم الله ورسوله والذين ءامنوا الذين يقيمون الصلاة ويؤتون الزكاة وهم راكعون) (2). ثم قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): قوموا. فقاموا فأتوا المسجد، فإذا سائل خارج، فقال: يا سائل، أما أعطاك أحد شيئا؟ قال: نعم، هذا الخاتم. قال: من أعطاك؟ قال: أعطانيه ذلك الرجل الذي يصلي. قال: على أي حال أعطاك؟ قال: كان راكعا. فكبر النبي (صلى الله عليه وآله) وكبر أهل المسجد، فقال النبي (صلى الله عليه وآله): علي بن أبي طالب وليكم بعدي، قالوا: رضينا بالله ربا، وبالاسلام دينا، وبمحمد نبيا، وبعلي بن أبي طالب وليا. فأنزل الله عز وجل: (ومن يتول الله ورسوله والذين ءامنوا فإن حزب الله هم الغالبون) (3). فروي عن عمر بن الخطاب أنه قال: والله لقد تصدقت بأربعين خاتما وأنا راكع، لينزل في ما نزل في علي بن أبي طالب (عليه السلام) فما نزل (4).

`Ali b. Hatim (rh) informed me. He said: Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Sa`id al-Hamadani narrated to us. He said: Ja`far b. `Abdullah al-Muhammadi narrated to us. He said: Kathir b. `Ayash narrated to us from Abi’l Jarud from Abi Ja`far (as). Regarding the saying of Allah, “Surely, your guardian is Allah, His Messenger, and those who believe …” (5:55), he said: A band of Jews had converted to Islam, among whom were `Abdullah b. Salam, Asad, Tha`laba, Ibn Yamin, and Ibn Suraya. They went to the Prophet (s) and said: “O Prophet of Allah! Surely, Musa (as) deputed Yusha` b. Nun, so who is your deputy O Messenger of Allah, and who is our guardian after you?” So, this verse was revealed, “Surely, your guardian is Allah, His Messenger, and those who believe – those who establish prayer and give zakat whilst they are bowing.” (5:55) Then, the Messenger of Allah (s) said: “Stand up.” So, they stood up and went to the Mosque, when a beggar went out. So, he said: “O beggar! Did anyone give you anything?” He said: “Yes, this ring.” He said: “Who gave to you?” He said: “The man that is praying gave it to me.” He said: “In what position did he give it to you?” He said: “While he was bowing.” So, the Prophet (s) did takbir, and the people of the Mosque did takbir. So, the Prophet (s) said: “`Ali b. Abi Talib is your guardian after me.” They said: “We are pleased with Allah as a Lord, with Islam as a religion, with Muhammad as a prophet, and with `Ali b. Abi Talib as a guardian.” So, Allah revealed, “Whoever aligns with Allah, His Messenger, and those who believe, then surely, the Party of Allah will prevail.” (5:56) It is reported from `Umar b. al-Khattab that he said: By Allah, I gave forty rings in charity whilst I was bowing so that a verse may be revealed about me in the same way that one was revealed about `Ali b. Abi Talib (as), but one was not revealed.

5 - حدثنا أبي (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن الحسن المؤدب، عن  أحمد بن علي الاصبهاني، عن إبراهيم بن محمد الثقفي، قال: حدثنا محمد بن علي الكوفي، عن سليمان بن عبد الله الهاشمي، عن محمد بن سنان، عن المفضل، عن جابر الجعفي، قال: سمعت جابر بن عبد الله الانصاري يقول: سمعت رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) يقول لعلي بن أبي طالب (عليه السلام): يا علي، أنت أخي ووصيي ووارثي، وخليفتي على امتي في حياتي وبعد وفاتي، محبك محبي، ومبغضك مبغضي، وعدوك عدوي، ووليك وليي (1).

My father (ra) narrated to us. He said: `Abdullah b. al-Hasan al-Mu’addab narrated to us from Ahmad b. `Ali al-Isfahani from Ibrahim b. Muhammad al-Thaqafi. He said: Muhammad b. `Ali al-Kufi narrated to us from Sulayman b. `Abdullah al-Hashimi from Muhammad b. Sinan from al-Mufaddal from Jabir al-Ju`fi. He said: I heard Jabir b. `Abdullah al-Ansari say: I heard the Messenger of Allah (s) say to `Ali b. Abi Talib (as): O `Ali! You are my brother, my deputy, and my inheritor. You are my vicegerent over my Nation in my lifetime and after my passing. Those who love you love me, and those who hate you hate me. Your enemies are my enemies, and your friends are my friends.

6 - حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن يحيى العطار، قال: حدثنا أبي، عن محمد ابن عبد الجبار، عن أبي أحمد الازدي، عن أبان بن عثمان، عن أبان بن تغلب، عن عكرمة، عن ابن عباس، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): إن الله تبارك وتعالى آخى بيني وبين علي بن أبي طالب، وزوجه ابنتي من فوق سبع سماواته، وأشهد على ذلك مقربي ملائكته، وجعله لي وصيا وخليفة، فعلي مني وأنا منه، محبه محبي، ومبغضه مبغضي، وإن الملائكة لتتقرب إلى الله بمحبته (2).

قال قال

Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Yahya al-`Attar narrated to us. He said: My father narrated to us from Muhammad b. `Abd al-Jabbar from Abi Ahmad al-Azdi from Aban b. `Uthman from Aban b. Taghlub from `Ikrama from Ibn `Abbas. He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Surely, Allah created the brotherhood bond between me and `Ali b. Abi Talib, and [decided] over the seven heavens to have him married to my daughter, and had His Angels of Proximity bear witness over that, and made him a deputy and a vicegerent for me. `Ali is from me and I am from him. Those who love him love me, and those who hate him hate me. Surely, the angels gain Allah’s proximity by loving him.

7 - حدثنا محمد بن الحسن بن أحمد بن الوليد (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسن الصفار، عن العباس بن معروف، عن أبي إسحاق، عن الحسن بن زياد العطار، قال: قلت لابي عبد الله (عليه السلام): قول رسول الله: فاطمة سيدة نساء أهل الجنة، أسيدة نساء عالمها؟ قال: ذاك مريم، وفاطمة سيدة نساء أهل الجنة من الاولين والآخرين. فقلت: فقول رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): الحسن والحسين سيدا شباب أهل الجنة؟ قال: هما والله سيدا شباب أهل الجنة من الاولين والآخرين (3).

Muhammad b. al-Hasan b. Ahmad b. al-Walid (rh) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan al-Saffar narrated to us from al-`Abbas b. Ma`ruf from Abi Ishaq from al-Hasan b. Ziyad al-`Attar. He said: I said to Abi `Abdillah (as): The saying of the Messenger of Allah that “Fatima is the Mistress of the Women of the People of Paradise” – was she [only] the Mistress of the Women of her world? He said: That is Maryam. Fatima is the Mistress of the Women of the People of Paradise from the former and the latter peoples. So, I said: So, the saying of the Messenger of Allah (s) that “al-Hasan and al-Husayn are the two Masters of the Youth of Paradise”? He said: They are, by Allah, the two Masters of the Youth of Paradise from the former and the latter peoples.

8 - حدثنا الحسن بن محمد بن سعيد الهاشمي، قال: حدثنا فرات بن  إبراهيم بن فرات الكوفي، قال: حدثنا محمد بن ظهير، قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن الفضل الهاشمي، عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد، عن أبيه، عن آبائه (عليهم السلام)، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): يوم غدير خم أفضل أعياد أمتي، وهو اليوم الذي أمرني الله تعالى ذكره فيه بنصب أخي علي بن أبي طالب علما لامتي يهتدون به من بعدي، وهو اليوم الذي أكمل الله فيه الدين، وأتم على امتي فيه النعمة، ورضي لهم الاسلام دينا. ثم قال (صلى الله عليه وآله): معاشر الناس، إن عليا مني وأنا من علي، خلق من طينتي، وهو إمام الخلق بعدي، يبين لهم ما اختلفوا فيه من سنتي، وهو أمير المؤمنين، وقائد الغر المحجلين، ويعسوب المؤمنين، وخير الوصيين، وزوج سيدة نساء العالمين، وأبو الائمة المهديين. معاشر الناس، من أحب عليا أحببته، ومن أبغض عليا أبغضته، ومن وصل عليا وصلته، ومن قطع عليا قطعته، ومن جفا عليا جفوته، ومن والى عليا واليته، ومن عادى عليا عاديته. معاشر الناس، أنا مدينة الحكمة وعلي بن أبي طالب بابها، ولن تؤتى المدينة إلا من قبل الباب، وكذب من زعم أنه يحتني ويبغض عليا. معاشر الناس، والذي بعثني بالنبوة واصطفاني على جميع البرية، ما نصبت عليا علما لامتي في الارض حتى نوه الله باسمه في سماواته، وأوجب ولايته على ملائكته (1).

عن أبيه ع عن آبائه ع قال قال

Al-Hasan b. Muhammad b. Sa`id al-Hashimi narrated to us. He said: Furat b. Ibrahim b. Furat al-Kufi narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Thahir narrated to us. He said: `Abdullah b. al-Fadl al-Hashimi narrated to us from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad from his father from his forefathers (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: The day of Ghadir Khumm is greater than the Eids of my Nation. It is the day that Allah ordered me to depute my brother `Ali b. Abi Talib as a sign for my Nation to be guided by after me. It is the day in which Allah completed the religion, and fulfilled the blessing over my Nation, and chose Islam as their religion. Then, he (s) said: O people! `Ali is from me and I am from `Ali. He was created from my clay, and he is the Imam of the creation after me. He will clarify what they differ in regarding my Sunna. He is the Commander of the Faithful, the Leader of the shining believers, the ruler of the believers, the best of deputies, the husband of the Mistress of the Women of the Worlds, and the father of the Guided Imams. O people! I love whoever loves `Ali, I hate whoever hates `Ali, I connect to whoever connects with `Ali, I cut off whoever cuts `Ali off, I am aloof to whoever is aloof to `Ali, I align with whoever aligns with `Ali, and I oppose whoever opposes `Ali. O people! I am the City of Wisdom and `Ali is its gate – no one can come to the City except that he comes through the Gate. Whoever alleges that he has loved me yet he hates `Ali has lied. O people! By He who raised me with prophethood and selected me over all people: I did not establish `Ali as a sign for my Nation in the Earth until Allah whispered his name in His heavens and made his wilaya mandatory for His angels.
