1 - حدثنا الشيخ الجليل أبو جعفر محمد بن علي بن الحسين بن موسى ابن بابويه القمي، قال: حدثنا جعفر بن علي بن الحسن بن علي بن عبد الله بن المغيرة الكوفي، قال: حدثنا جدي الحسن بن علي، عن جده عبد الله بن المغيرة، عن إسماعيل بن أبي زياد، عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد، عن أبيه، عن آبائه (عليهم السلام)، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) لاصحابه: ألا أخبركم بشئ إن أنتم فعلتموه تباعد الشيطان منكم كما تباعد المشرق من المغرب؟ قالوا: بلى. قال: الصوم يسود وجهه، والصدقة تكسر ظهره، والحب في الله والمؤازرة على العمل الصالح يقطعان دابره، والاستغفار يقطع وتينه (1)، ولكل شئ زكاة وزكاة الابدان الصيام (2).

Abu Ja`far Muhammad b. Ali b. al-Husayn b. Musa b. Babuwayh al-Qummi narrated to us. He said: Ja`far b. `Ali b. al-Hasan b. `Ali b. `Abdullah b. al-Mughira al-Kufi narrated to us. He said: My grandfather al-Hasan b. `Ali narrated to us from his grandfather Abdullah b. al-Mughira from Isma`il b. Abi Ziyad from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad from his father from his forefathers (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said to his companions: Should I not tell you something, that if you do it, Satan would be as far away from you as the East is from the West? They said: Of course. He said: Fasting blackens his face, charity breaks his back, loving for the sake of Allah and putting an effort into performing righteous deeds cuts his tail, and repentance cuts his artery. Everything has a purifier, and the purifier of the bodies is fasting.

2 - حدثنا أبي (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا علي بن موسى الكمنداني (3)، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى، عن علي بن الحسين، عن محمد بن عبيد، عن عبيد بن هارون، قال: حدثنا أبو يزيد، عن حصين، عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد، عن أبيه، عن آبائه (عليهم السلام)، قال: قال أمير المؤمنين (عليه السلام): عليكم في شهر رمضان بكثرة الاستغفار والدعاء، فأما الدعاء فيدفع عنكم به البلاء، وأما الاستغفار فتمحى به ذنوبكم (1).

My father (rh) narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. Musa al-Kamnadani narrated to us. He said: Ahmad b. Muhammad b. `Isa narrated to us from `Ali b. al-Husayn from Muhammad b. `Ubayd from Ubayd b. Harun . He said: Abu Yazid narrated to us from Hussayn from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad from his father from his forefathers (as). He said: Amir al-Mu'minin (as) said: In the month of Ramadan, betake to much repentance and supplication. As for supplication, it will repel calamity from you; and as for repentance, it will remove sins from you.

3 - حدثنا محمد بن الحسن بن أحمد بن الوليد (رضي الله عليه)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسن الصفار، عن أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى، عن الحسن (2) بن موسى، عن غياث بن إبراهيم، عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد، عن أبيه، عن آبائه (عليهم السلام)، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): إن الله تبارك وتعالى كره لي ست خصال وكرهتهن للاوصياء من ولدي وأتباعهم من بعدي: العبث في الصلاة، والرفث في الصوم، والمن بعد الصدقة، وإتيان المساجد جنبا، والتطلع في الدور، والضحك بين القبور (3).

Muhammad b. al-Hasan b. Ahmad b. al-Walid (ra) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan al-Saffar narrated to us from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Isa from al-Hasan b. Musa from Ghiyath b. Ibrahim from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad from is father from his forefathers (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Surely, Allah hated for me to have six characteristics, and He hated for my deputies from my descendants and their followers after me to have them as well: (1) trifling whilst in prayer, (2) lewd actions whilst fasting, (3) bragging after giving charity, (4) coming to the mosques in a state of janaba, (5) browsing the houses [of people without their permission], and (6) smiling in front of graves.

105 / 4 - حدثنا أحمد بن علي بن إبراهيم (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا أبي، عن أبيه إبراهيم بن هاشم، عن عبد الله بن المغيرة، عن عمرو الشامي، عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد (عليهما السلام)، قال (إن عدة الشهور عند الله اثنا عشر شهرا في كتاب الله يوم خلق السموات والارض) (4) فغرة الشهور شهر الله عز وجل، وهو شهر رمضان،  وقلب شهر رمضان ليلة القدر، ونزل القرآن في أول ليلة من شهر رمضان فاستقبل الشهر بالقرآن (1).

قال

Ahmad b. `Ali b. Ibrahim (rh) narrated to us. He said: My father narrated to us from his father Ibrahim b. Hashim from `Abdullah b. al-Mughira from `Amr al-Shami from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad (as). He said: “Surely, the number of months with Allah is twelve months in the Book of Allah on the day that He created the heavens and the Earth.” (9:36) The best of the months is the month of Allah, which is the month of Ramadan. The heart of the month of Ramadan is the Night of Power. The Quran came down in the first night of the month of Ramadan. So, welcome the month with the Quran.

5 - حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن يحيى العطار، قال: حدثنا سعد بن عبد الله، عن القاسم بن محمد الاصبهاني، عن سليمان بن داود المنقري، عن حفص ابن غياث، قال: قلت للصادق جعفر بن محمد (عليه السلام): أخبرني عن قول الله عز وجل: (شهر رمضان الذي أنزل فيه القرءان) (2)، كيف أنزل القرآن في شهر رمضان، وإنما أنزل القرآن في مدة عشرين سنة، أوله وآخره؟ فقال (عليه السلام): أنزل القرآن جملة واحدة في شهر رمضان إلى البيت المعمور، ثم أنزل من البيت المعمور في مدة عشرين سنة (3).

Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Yahya al-`Attar narrated to us. He said: Sa`d b. `Abdullah narrated to us from al-Qasim b. Muhammad al-Isfahani from Sulayman b. Dawud al-Munqari from Hafs b. Ghiyath. He said: I said to al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad (as): Inform me about the saying of Allah, “The month of Ramadan, in which the Quran was revealed” (2:185) – how is it that the Quran was revealed in the month of Ramadan when the Quran was revealed over a period of twenty years from beginning to end? So, he said: The Quran came down altogether in the month of Ramadan to the Bayt al-Ma`mur. Then, it was revealed from the Bayt al-Ma`mur over a period of twenty years.

6 - حدثنا محمد بن إبراهيم بن إسحاق (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا عبد العزيز ابن يحيى، قال: حدثنا محمد بن زكريا، قال: حدثنا محمد بن عمارة، عن أبيه، عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد، عن أبيه، عن آبائه (عليهم السلام)، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): ستدفن بضعة مني بأرض خراسان، لا يزورها مؤمن إلا أوجب الله عز وجل له الجنة، وحرم جسده على النار (4).

Muhammad b. Ibrahim b. Ishaq (rh) narrated to us. He said: `Abd al-`Aziz b. Yahya narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Zakariyya narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. `Ammara narrated to us from his father from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad from his father from his forefathers (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: A part of me will be buried in Khurasan. A believer will not visit it except that Allah will make Paradise mandatory for him and forbid his body from the Fire.

7 - حدثنا محمد بن إبراهيم (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن محمد الهمداني، قال: أخبرنا علي بن الحسن بن علي بن فضال، عن أبيه، عن أبي الحسن علي بن موسى الرضا (عليه السلام) أنه قال: إن بخراسان لبقعة يأتي عليها زمان تصير مختلف الملائكة، فلا يزال فوج ينزل من السماء وفوج يصعد إلى أن ينفح في الصور. فقيل له: يا بن رسول الله، وأية بقعة هذه؟ قال: هي بأرض طوس، وهي والله روضة من رياض الجنة، من زارني في تلك البقعة كان كمن زار رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله)،  وكتب الله تبارك وتعالى له بذلك ثواب ألف حجة مبرورة وألف عمرة مقبولة، وكنت أنا وآبائي شفعاؤه يوم القيامة (1).

أنه قال

Muhammad b. Ibrahim (rh) narrated to us. He said: Ahmad b. Muhammad al-Hamadani narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. al-Hasan b. `Ali b. Faddal informed us from his father from Abi’l Hasan `Ali b. Musa al-Rida (as). He said: Surely, in Khurasan, there is a piece of land that will be frequented by angels at a point in time. A crowd will descend from heaven as another crowd ascends back; this will continue until the Trumpet is blown. So, it was said to him: O son of the Messenger of Allah! Which piece of land is this? He said: It is in the land of Tus. It is, by Allah, a garden from the gardens of Paradise. Whoever visits me in that piece of land, it will be as though he visited the Messenger of Allah (s). Allah will record the deeds of one thousand virtuous Hajj and one thousand accepted `Umra for him, and I and my forefathers will be his intercessors on the Day of Resurrection.

8 - حدثنا محمد بن موسى بن المتوكل (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا علي بن إبراهيم، عن أبيه، عن أبي الصلت عبد السلام بن صالح الهروي، قال: سمعت الرضا (عليه السلام) يقول: والله ما منا إلا مقتول شهيد. فقيل له: فمن يقتلك يا بن رسول الله؟ قال: شر خلق الله في زماني، يقتلني بالسم، ثم يدفنني في دار مضيعة (2) وبلاد غربة، ألا فمن زارني في غربتي كتب الله عز وجل له أجر مائة ألف شهيد ومائة ألف صديق ومائة ألف حاج ومعتمر ومائة ألف مجاهد، وحشر في زمرتنا، وجعل في الدرجات العلى من الجنة رفيقنا (3).

الرضا عليه السلام

يقول

Muhammad b. Musa b. al-Mutawakkil (rh) narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. Ibrahim narrated to us from his father from Abi’l Salt `Abd al-Salam b. Salih al-Harawi. He said: I heard al-Rida (as) say: By Allah, there is not one from us except that he is killed and martyred. So, it was said to him: Who will kill you, O son of the Messenger of Allah? He said: The evilest of Allah’s creation in my era. He will kill me with poison, then he will bury me in an isolated abode and a strange country. Surely, whoever visits me in my isolation, Allah will give him the reward of one hundred thousand martyrs, one hundred thousand saints, one hundred thousand pilgrims of Hajj and `Umra, and one hundred thousand holy warriors. He will be resurrected in our congregation, and he will be our comrade in the exalted ranks of Paradise.

9 - حدثنا محمد بن الحسن (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسن الصفار، عن أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى، عن أحمد بن محمد بن أبي نصر البزنطي، قال: قرأت في كتاب أبي الحسن الرضا (عليه السلام): أبلغ شيعتي أن زيارتي تعدل عند الله عزوجل ألف حجة. قال: قلت لابي جعفر (عليه السلام): ألف حجة؟ قال: إي والله، وألف ألف حجة لمن زاره عارفا بحقه (4).

Muhammad b. al-Hasan (rh) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan al-Saffar narrated to us from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. `Isa from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Abi Nasr al-Bazanti He said: I read in a letter of Abi’l Hasan al-Rida (as): Announce to my Shi`a that a visitation of me is considered by Allah to be equal to one thousand Hajj. He said: I said to Abi Ja`far [al-Jawad] (as): One thousand Hajj? He said: Yes, by Allah. One million Hajj for one who visits him recognizing his right.

10 - حدثنا محمد بن إبراهيم (رحمه الله)، قال: أخبرنا أحمد بن محمد الهمداني، عن علي بن الحسن بن علي بن فضال، عن أبيه، عن أبي الحسن علي بن موسى الرضا (عليه السلام) أنه قال له رجل من أهل خراسان: يا بن رسول الله، رأيت رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) في المنام كأنه يقول لي: كيف أنتم إذا دفن في أرضكم بضعتي، واستحفظتم وديعتي، وغيب في ثراكم نجمي؟ فقال له الرضا (عليه السلام): أنا المدفون في أرضكم، وأنا بضعة من نبيكم، وأنا الوديعة والنجم، ألا فمن زارني وهو يعرف ما أوجب الله تبارك وتعالى من حقي وطاعتي، فأنا وآبائي شفعاؤه يوم القيامة، ومن كنا شفعاؤه نجا ولو كان عليه مثل وزر الثقلين الجن والانس. ولقد حدثني أبي، عن جدي، عن أبيه (عليهم السلام) أن رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) قال: من رآني في منامه فقد رآني، لان الشيطان لا يتمثل في صورتي، ولا في صورة أحد من أوصيائي، ولا في صورة أحد من شيعتهم، وإن الرؤيا الصادقة جزء من سبعين جزءا من النبوة (1).

Muhammad b. Ibrahim (rh) narrated to us. He said: Ahmad b. Muhammad al-Hamadani informed us from `Ali b. al-Hasan b. `Ali b. Faddal from his father from Abi'l Hasan `Ali b. Musa al-Rida (as). A man from the people of Khurasan said to him: O son of the Messenger of Allah! I saw the Messenger of Allah (s) in a dream, and it was as though he was saying to me: "How will you be when a part of me is buried in your land, and you are asked to protect my trust, and my star disappears in your land?" So, al-Rida (as) said to him: I am the one buried in your land, and I am the piece of your Prophet, and I am the trust and the star. Surely, whoever visits me, knowing what Allah has obligated with regards to my rights and obedience to me, I and my forefathers will be his intercessor on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever has us as their intercessor will be delivered, even his sins are equal to that of the two heavyweights - the Jinn and mankind. Surely, my father narrated from my grandfather from his father (as) that the Messenger of Allah (s) said: "Whoever sees me in his dream has truly seen me, for Satan cannot take on my form, nor the form of any of my deputies, nor the form of any of their Shi`a. Surely, a true vision is one part out of seventy parts of prophethood."

11 - حدثنا محمد بن عمر الحافظ البغدادي، قال: حدثني أبو عبد الله محمد بن أحمد بن ثابت بن كنانة، قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسن بن العباس أبو جعفر الخزاعي، قال: حدثنا حسن بن الحسين العرني، قال: حدثنا عمرو بن ثابت، عن عطاء بن السائب، عن أبي يحيى، عن ابن عباس، قال: صعد رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) المنبر فخطب، واجتمع الناس إليه، فقال (صلى الله عليه وآله): يا معشر المؤمنين، إن الله عزوجل أوحى إلي أني مقبوض، وأن ابن عمي عليا مقتول، وإني - أيها الناس - أخبركم خبرا، إن عملتم به سلمتم، وإن تركموه هلكتم، إن ابن عمي عليا هو أخي ووزيري، وهو خليفتي، وهو المبلغ عني، وهو إمام المتقين، قائد الغر المحجلين، إن استرشدتموه أرشدكم، وإن تبعتموه نجوتم، وإن خالفتموه ضللتم، وإن أطعتموه فالله أطعتم، وإن عصيتموه فالله عصيتم، وإن بايعتموه فالله بايعتم، وإن نكثتم بيعته فبيعة الله نكثتم. إن الله عزوجل أنزل علي القرآن، وهو الذي من خالفه ضل، ومن ابتغى علمه عند غير علي هلك. أيها الناس، اسمعوا قولي، واعرفوا حق نصيحتي، ولا تخلفوني في أهل بيتي إلا بالذي أمرتم به من حفظهم، فإنهم حامتي (1) وقرابتي وإخوتي وأولادي، وإنكم مجموعون ومساءلون عن الثقلين، فانظروا كيف تخلفوني فيهما. إنهم أهل بيتي، فمن آذاهم آذاني، ومن ظلمهم ظلمني، ومن أذلهم أذلني، ومن أعزهم أعزني، ومن أكرمهم أكرمني، ومن نصرهم نصرني، ومن خذلهم خذلني، ومن طلب الهدى في غيرهم فقد كذبني أيها الناس، اتقوا الله، وانظروا ما أنتم قائلون إذا لقيتموه، فإني خصم لمن آذاهم، ومن كنت خصمه خصمته، أقول قولي هذا واستغفر الله لي ولكم (2).

المنبر فقال

Muhammad b. `Umar al-Hafith al-Baghdadi narrated to us. He said: Abu Abdillah Muhammad b. Ahmad b. Thabit b. Kinana narrated to me. He said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan b. al-`Abbas Abu Ja`far al-Khuza`i narrated to us. He said: Hasan b. al-Husayn al-`Urni narrated to us. He said: `Amr b. Thabit narrated to us from `Ata' b. al-Sa'ib from Abi Yahya from Ibn `Abbas. He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) climbed the pulpit, and the people gathered. So, he (s) said: O believers! Surely, Allah has revealed to me that I will die, and my cousin `Ali will be killed. O people! I will inform you of something: if you act by it, you will be safe, but if you abandon it, you will be destroyed. Surely, my cousin `Ali is my brother and my vizier. He is my vicegerent. He is the one who speaks on my behalf. He is the Imam of the pious and the Leader of the shining believers. If you take his guidance, you will be guided, and if you follow him, you will be delivered. If you oppose him, you will be misguided. If you obey him, you will have obeyed Allah, and if you disobey him, you will have disobeyed Allah. If you pledge allegiance to him, you will have pledged allegiance to Allah, but if you renege on your allegiance to him, then you renege on your allegiance to Allah. Surely, Allah revealed the Quran to me; and he is the one who, if you disobey him, you go astray. Whoever takes knowledge from other than `Ali will be destroyed. O people! Hear my words and recognize the truth of my advice. Do not do anything after me regarding my Ahl al-Bayt except that which you have been ordered to do with regards to their protection, for they are my kin, my relatives, my brothers, and my sons. You will be grouped and asked about the Two Heavyweights, so look to how you treat them after me. They are my Ahl al-Bayt, so whoever harms them has harmed me, whoever oppresses them has oppressed me, whoever belittles them has belittled me, whoever cherishes them has cherished me, whoever honours them has honoured me, whoever supports them has supported me, and whoever lets them down has let me down. Whoever seeks guidance in other than them has belied me. O people! Fear Allah and look to what you say when you meet Him, for I am the adversary of one who harms them, and I will defeat anyone who I am the adversary of. I say this saying of mine, and I repent to Allah for me and for you.
