  حَدَّثَنَا اَلْحَسَنُ بْنُ اَلْوَلِيدِ رَحِمَهُ اَللَّهُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ اَلْحَسَنِ اَلصَّفَّارُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ وَ غَيْرِهِ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدٍ اَلْبَاقِرِ ع قَالَ : سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ ص عَنْ خِيَارِ اَلْعِبَادِ قَالَ اَلَّذِينَ إِذَا أَحْسَنُوا اِسْتَبْشَرُوا وَ إِذَا أَسَاءُوا اِسْتَغْفَرُوا وَ إِذَا أُعْطُوا شَكَرُوا وَ إِذَا اُبْتُلُوا صَبَرُوا وَ إِذَا غَضِبُوا غَفَرُوا .

 Mohammed bin al-Hasan bin Ahmed bin al-Waleed, Allah may have mercy upon him, narrated to us from Mohammed bin al-Hasan as-Saffar from Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Khalid from Ismaeel bin Mehran from Saif bin Umaira from Sulaiman bin Ja’far an-Nakh’i from Mohammed bin Muslim and others from … that Abu Ja’far Mohammed bin Ali al-Baqir (a) said: As he was asked about the best servants, the Prophet (s) said: The best servants are those who become happy when they do a good deed, seek Allah’s forgiveness when they make a mistake, show gratitude when something is given to them, and pardon when they are enraged.
