1 حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ مُوسَى بْنِ بَابَوَيْهِ (رحمه الله) عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْوَشَّاءِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ الرِّضَا (ع) عَنْ زِيَارَةِ قَبْرِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ (ع) أَ مِثْلُ زِيَارَةِ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) قَالَ نَعَمْ وَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى بِإِسْنَادِهِ مِثْلَهُ

1. ‘Ali ibn Ĥusain ibn Mūsā ibn Bābawayh narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Ĥasan ibn ‘Ali Al-Washā, who said: I asked Imam Riďā (a.s.) if (the reward for) the Ziyārah of the grave of Abil Ĥasan (Imam Kāżim (a.s.)) is the same as the Ziyārah of the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.). Imam (a.s.) replied, “Yes.” The above Ĥadǐth has also been narrated to me through the following chain: Muĥammad ibn Ya’qūb, from Muĥammad ibn Yaĥyā, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Ĥasan ibn ‘Ali Al-Washā, from Imam Riďā (a.s.).

2 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي (رحمه الله) عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ أَبِي عَلِيٍّ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ الْوَاسِطِيِّ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِلرِّضَا ع أَزُورُ قَبْرَ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ (ع) بِبَغْدَادَ فَقَالَ إِنْ كَانَ لَا بُدَّ مِنْهُ فَمِنْ وَرَاءِ الْحِجَابِ

2. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Abǐ ‘Ali, from Ĥusain ibn Yasār Al-Wāsiťi, who said: I asked Imam Riďā (a.s.), “Should I go to the Ziyārah of the grave of Abil Ĥasan (Imam Kāżim (a.s.)) in Baghdad?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “If you must, then perform the Ziyārah from behind the covers.”

3 حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَرْقِيِّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْوَشَّاءِ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِلرِّضَا (ع) مَا لِمَنْ زَارَ قَبْرَ أَبِيكَ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ (ع) فَقَالَ زُرْهُ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ فَأَيُّ شَيْءٍ فِيهِ مِنَ الْفَضْلِ قَالَ لَهُ مِثْلُ مَنْ زَارَ قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ ع

3. ‘Ali ibn Ĥusain narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aĥmad ibn Abǐ ‘Abdillāh Al-Barqi, from Ĥasan ibn ‘Ali Al-Washā, who said: I asked Imam Riďā (a.s.), “What are the rewards for those who go to the Ziyārah of the grave of your father, Abil Ĥasan (Imam Kāżim (a.s.))?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Go to his Ziyārah!” I asked, “What are its merits?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “The same as those for going to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.).”

4 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حَسَّانَ الْوَاسِطِيِّ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنِ الرِّضَا (ع) فِي إِتْيَانِ قَبْرِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ (ع) قَالَ صَلُّوا فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ حَوْلَهُ

4. Muĥammad ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Ja’far narrated to me from his father, from Hārūn ibn Muslim, from ‘Ali ibn Ĥassān Al-Wāsiťi, from some of our companions, who said: I asked Imam Riďā (a.s.) about going to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Abil Ĥasan (Imam Kāżim (a.s.)). Imam (a.s.) replied, “Establish prayers in the mosques around the grave.”

5 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي وَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ وَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ رَحِمَهُمُ اللَّهُ جَمِيعاً عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ الْوَاسِطِيِّ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا (ع) مَا لِمَنْ زَارَ قَبْرَ أَبِيكَ (ص) قَالَ فَقَالَ زُورُوهُ قَالَ قُلْتُ فَأَيُّ شَيْءٍ فِيهِ مِنَ الْفَضْلِ قَالَ فَقَالَ فِيهِ مِنَ الْفَضْلِ كَفَضْلِ مَنْ زَارَ وَالِدَهُ يَعْنِي رَسُولَ اللَّهِ (ص) قُلْتُ فَإِنْ خِفْتُ وَ لَمْ يُمْكِنْ لِيَ الدُّخُولُ دَاخِلًا- قَالَ سَلِّمْ مِنْ وَرَاءِ الْجِدَارِ

5. My father, ‘Ali ibn Ĥusain, and Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan all narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Ya’qūb ibn Yazǐd, from Ĥusain ibn Yasār Al-Wāsiťi, who said: I asked Abal Ĥasan (Imam Riďā (a.s.)), “What are the rewards for those who go to the Ziyārah of the grave of your father (Imam Kāżim (a.s.)) – may Allāh’s blessings be upon him?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Go to his Ziyārah!” I asked, “What are its merits?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Its merits are the same as the merits for those who go to the Ziyārah of his father – referring to the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.).” I asked, “What if I was in fear and could not enter (next to the grave)?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “(Then) say Salām from behind the walls.”

6 حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْقُرَشِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ بَزِيعٍ عَنِ الْخَيْبَرِيِّ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ الْقُمِّيِّ قَالَ قَالَ لِيَ الرِّضَا (ع) مَنْ زَارَ قَبْرَ أَبِي بِبَغْدَادَ كَانَ كَمَنْ زَارَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ (ص) وَ قَبْرَ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِلَّا أَنَّ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ وَ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَضْلَهُمَا وَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بِإِسْنَادِهِ مِثْلَهُ

6. Abul ‘Abbās Muĥammad ibn Ja’far Al-Qurashi narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Ĥusain ibn Abil Khaťťāb, from Muĥammad ibn Ismā’ǐl ibn Bazǐ’, from Al-Khaybari, from Ĥusain ibn Muĥammad Al-Ash’ari Al-Qummi, who said: Imam Riďā (a.s.) said to me: Those who go to the Ziyārah of the grave of my father (a.s.) in Baghdad are like those who have gone to the Ziyārah of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) and the grave of the Commander of the Believers (a.s.), except that the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) and the Commander of the Believers (a.s.) have their own specific ranks. The above Ĥadǐth has also been narrated to me through the following chain: Muĥammad ibn Ya’qūb, from Muĥammad ibn Yaĥyā, from Muĥammad ibn Ĥusain, from Muĥammad ibn Ismā’ǐl ibn Bazǐ’, from Al-Khaybari, from Ĥusain ibn Muĥammad Al-Ash’ari Al-Qummi, from Imam Riďā (a.s.).

7 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي نَجْرَانَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ (ع) عَمَّنْ زَارَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ (ص) قَاصِداً قَالَ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ وَ مَنْ زَارَ قَبْرَ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ (ع) فَلَهُ الْجَنَّةُ

7. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from ‘Abdil Raĥmān ibn Abǐ Najrān, who said: I asked Abā Ja’far (Imam Jawād (a.s.)), “What is the reward for those who go to the Ziyārah of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) with the (sole) intention of Ziyārah?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “(Their reward is) Paradise and the reward for those who go to the Ziyārah of the grave of Abil Ĥasan (Imam Kāżim (a.s.)) is (also) Paradise.”

8 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْوَشَّاءِ عَنِ الرِّضَا (ع) قَالَ زِيَارَةُ قَبْرِ أَبِي مِثْلُ زِيَارَةِ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ

8. Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan ibn Aĥmad ibn Walǐd narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad, from Ĥasan ibn ‘Ali Al-Washā, who said: Imam Riďā (a.s.) said: The Ziyārah of the grave of my father (Imam Kāżim (a.s.)) is the same as the Ziyārah of the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.).

9 وَ عَنْهُ عَنْ سَعْدٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عُبْدُوسٍ الْخَلَنْجِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَحِيمٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِلرِّضَا (ع) جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ إِنَّ زِيَارَةَ قَبْرِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ (ع) بِبَغْدَادَ عَلَيْنَا فِيهَا مَشَقَّةٌ وَ إِنَّمَا نأته [نَأْتِيهِ فَنُسَلِّمُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ وَرَاءِ الْحِيطَانِ فَمَا لِمَنْ زَارَهُ مِنَ الثَّوَابِ قَالَ فَقَالَ لَهُ وَ اللَّهِ مِثْلُ مَا لِمَنْ أَتَى قَبْرَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص

9. Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan ibn Aĥmad ibn Walǐd narrated to me from Sa’d, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad, from Aĥmad ibn ‘Ubdūs Al-Khalanji, from his father Raĥǐm, who said: I said to Imam Riďā (a.s.), “May I sacrifice myself for you! We face some difficulties when we go to the Ziyārah of the grave of Abil Ĥasan (Imam Kāżim (a.s.)) in Baghdad. Therefore, when we go to his Ziyārah, we say Salām to him from behind the walls. What are the rewards for those who go to his Ziyārah?” Imam (a.s.) replied: I swear to Allāh that it is the same as the rewards for going to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.).

10 وَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ رَحِيمٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِلرِّضَا (ع) إِنَّ زِيَارَةَ قَبْرِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ (ع) بِبَغْدَادَ عَلَيْنَا فِيهَا مَشَقَّةٌ فَمَا لِمَنْ زَارَهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ مِثْلُ مَا لِمَنْ أَتَى قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) مِنَ الثَّوَابِ قَالَ وَ دَخَلَ رَجُلٌ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِ وَ جَلَسَ وَ ذَكَرَ بَغْدَادَ وَ رَدَاءَةَ أَهْلِهَا وَ مَا يُتَوَقَّعُ أَنْ يَنْزِلَ بِهِمْ مِنَ الْخَسْفِ وَ الصَّيْحَةِ وَ الصَّوَاعِقِ وَ عَدَّدَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ أَشْيَاءَ قَالَ فَقُمْتُ لِأَخْرُجَ فَسَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ (ع) وَ هُوَ يَقُولُ أَمَّا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ (ع) فَلَا

10. Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan Al-Šaffār, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from ‘Ali ibn Ĥakam, from Raĥǐm, who said: I said to Imam Riďā (s.a.a.w.), “We face some difficulties when we go to the Ziyārah of the grave of Abil Ĥasan (Imam Kāżim (a.s.)) in Baghdad. What are the rewards for those who go to his Ziyārah?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Its rewards are the same as the rewards for going to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.).” (After Imam (a.s.) said this) a man entered, said Salām to the Imam (a.s.), and sat down. He started talking about Baghdad and the inferiority of its people and about the afflictions, the collapsing of the earth, the clamour, and the bolts of lightning which are expected to befall Baghdad. Then I got up to leave and I heard Abal Ĥasan (Imam Riďā (a.s.)) say, “As for Abul Ĥasan (Imam Kāżim (a.s.)), none (of this will affect him).”

11 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ حَمْدَانَ الْقَلَانِسِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْحُضَيْنِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَرْوَانَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ قَالَ كَتَبْتُ إِلَى أَبِي الْحَسَنِ الثَّالِثِ (ع) أَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ زِيَارَةِ قَبْرِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَ عَنْ زِيَارَةِ قَبْرِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ وَ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (ع) فَكَتَبَ إِلَيَّ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) الْمُقَدَّمُ وَ هَذَا أَجْمَعُ وَ أَعْظَمُ أَجْراً

11. Muĥammad ibn Ya’qūb narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Yaĥyā, from Ĥamdān Al-Qalānisi, from ‘Ali ibn Muĥammad Al-Ĥuďayni, from ‘Ali ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Marwān, from Ibrāhǐm ibn ‘Uqbah, who said: I wrote to Abil Ĥasan the Third (Imam Hādi (a.s.)) asking him about the Ziyārah of the grave of Abǐ ‘Abdillāh (Imam Ĥusain (a.s.)) and about the Ziyārah of the graves of Abil Ĥasan (Imam Kāżim (a.s.)) and Abǐ Ja’far (Imam Jawād (a.s.)). Imam (a.s.) replied, “Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Ĥusain (a.s.)) comes first but that (the Ziyārah of Imam Kāżim and Imam Jawād) is more complete and has a greater reward.”

12 حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي نَجْرَانَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ (ع) عَمَّنْ زَارَ النَّبِيَّ (ص) قَاصِداً قَالَ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ وَ مَنْ زَارَ قَبْرَ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ (ع) فَلَهُ الْجَنَّةُ

12. ‘Ali ibn Ĥusain narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from ‘Abdil Raĥmān ibn Abǐ Najrān, who said: I asked Abā Ja’far (Imam Jawād (a.s.)), “What is the reward for those who go to the Ziyārah of the Prophet (s.a.a.w.) with the (sole) intention of Ziyārah?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “(Their reward is) Paradise and the reward for those who go to the Ziyārah of the grave of Abil Ĥasan (Imam Kāżim (a.s.)) is (also) Paradise.”
