1 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ره عَنْ سَعْدٍ وَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَمَّنْ رَوَاهُ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) إِذَا بَعُدَتْ بِأَحَدِكُمُ الشُّقَّةُ وَ نَأَتْ بِهِ الدَّارُ فَلْيَعْلُ أَعْلَى مَنْزِلٍ لَهُ فَيُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَ لْيُومِ بِالسَّلَامِ إِلَى قُبُورِنَا فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ يَصِيرُ إِلَيْنَا

1. My father narrated to me from Sa’d, and from Muĥammad ibn Yaĥyā, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Muĥammad ibn Abǐ ‘Umayr, from someone who narrated to him, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: If any of you lives far (from us) and there is a great distance between you and us, you should ascend to the highest place of your house, establish two Rak’ah of prayers, point toward our graves, and say Salām to us, for verily it will reach us.

2 حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ وَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قُولَوَيْهِ ره جَمِيعاً عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى الْعَطَّارِ عَنْ حَمْدَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ النَّيْسَابُورِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْيَمَانِيِّ عَنْ مَنِيعِ بْنِ الْحَجَّاجِ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ حَنَانِ بْنِ سَدِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ فِي حَدِيثٍ طَوِيلٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) يَا سَدِيرُ وَ مَا عَلَيْكَ أَنْ تَزُورَ قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ خَمْسَ مَرَّاتٍ وَ فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ مَرَّةً قُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ إِنَّ بَيْنَنَا وَ بَيْنَهُ فَرَاسِخَ كَثِيرَةً فَقَالَ تَصْعَدُ فَوْقَ سَطْحِكَ ثُمَّ تَلْتَفِتُ يَمْنَةً وَ يَسْرَةً ثُمَّ تَرْفَعُ رَأْسَكَ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ ثُمَّ تَتَحَرَّى نَحْوَ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) ثُمَّ تَقُولُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ يُكْتَبُ لَكَ زَوْرَةً وَ الزَّوْرَةُ حِجَّةٌ وَ عُمْرَةٌ قَالَ سَدِيرٌ فَرُبَّمَا فَعَلْتُهُ فِي النَّهَارِ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ عِشْرِينَ مَرَّةً

2. ‘Ali ibn Ĥusain and (my brother) ‘Ali ibn Muĥammad ibn Qūlawayh both narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Yaĥyā Al-‘Aťťār, from Ĥamdān ibn Sulaymān Al-Naysābūri, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Muĥammad Al-Yamāni, from Manǐ’ ibn Ĥajjāj, from Yūnus ibn ‘Abdil Raĥmān, from Ĥanān ibn Sadǐr, from his father, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said to me – as part of a longer Ĥadǐth: O Sadǐr! How difficult is it for you to perform the Ziyārah of the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) five times every Friday and once every day?! I replied, “May I sacrifice myself for you! There is a great distance between us and his grave.” Imam (a.s.) said: Ascend to the roof of your house, look to the right and left, raise your head toward the sky, and then try to face the direction of the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) and say:           Salām to you, O Abā ‘Abdillāh. Salām to you and (may) Allāh’s Mercy and Blessings be upon you. (By doing) so, a ZAWRAH will be registered for you. And Zawrah is the performance of a Hajj and an ‘Umrah. Sadǐr added, “(After hearing this) there were times when I would perform this (Ziyārah) twenty times during the day.”

3 حَدَّثَنِي حَكِيمُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ مَنِيعٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ حَنَانِ بْنِ سَدِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) يَا سَدِيرُ تَزُورُ قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ قُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ لَا قَالَ مَا أَجْفَاكُمْ أَ فَتَزُورُهُ فِي كُلِّ شَهْرٍ قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ فَتَزُورُهُ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ قُلْتُ يَكُونُ ذَلِكَ قَالَ يَا سَدِيرُ مَا أَجْفَاكُمْ بِالْحُسَيْنِ (ع) [بِذَلِكَ] أَ مَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ لِلَّهِ أَلْفَ أَلْفِ ملكا [مَلَكٍ شُعْثاً غُبْراً يَبْكُونَ وَ يَزُورُونَ لَا يَفْتُرُونَ وَ مَا عَلَيْكَ يَا سَدِيرُ أَنْ تَزُورَ قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ خَمْسَ مَرَّاتٍ وَ ذَكَرَ مِثْلَ الْحَدِيثِ الْأَوَّلِ

3. Ĥukaym ibn Dāwūd narrated to me from Salamah ibn Khaťťāb, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Khaťťāb, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Muĥammad ibn Sinān, from Manǐ’, from Yūnus ibn ‘Abdil Raĥmān, from Ĥanān ibn Sadǐr, from his father, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) asked me, “O Sadǐr! Do you perform the Ziyārah of the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) once every day?” I replied, “May I sacrifice myself for you! No.” Imam (a.s.) said, “How negligent you people are!!! Do you perform his Ziyārah once every month?” I replied, “No.” Imam (a.s.) asked, “What about once every year?” I replied, “Sometimes.” Imam (a.s.) said: O Sadǐr! How negligent you people are toward Ĥusain (a.s.)!!! Do you not know that Allāh has one million angels who are disheveled and covered with dust, who cry (over Ĥusain (a.s.)), and who perform his Ziyārah (at all times) and they never pause?! O Sadǐr! How difficult is it for you to perform the Ziyārah of the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) five times every Friday and once every day?! I replied, “May I sacrifice myself for you! There is a great distance between us and his grave.” Imam (a.s.) said: Go to the roof of your house, look to the right and left, raise your head toward the sky, and then try to face the direction of the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) and say:           Salām to you, O Abā ‘Abdillāh. Salām to you and (may) Allāh’s Mercy and Blessings be upon you. (By doing) so, a Zawrah will be registered for you. And Zawrah is the performance of a Hajj and an ‘Umrah. Sadǐr added, “(After hearing this) there were times when I would perform this (Ziyārah) twenty times during the day.”

4 وَ رَوَى سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عِيسَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) كَيْفَ أَزُورُكَ وَ لَمْ أَقْدِرْ عَلَى ذَلِكَ قَالَ قَالَ لِي يَا عِيسَى إِذَا لَمْ تَقْدِرْ عَلَى الْمَجِيءِ فَإِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فَاغْتَسِلْ أَوْ تَوَضَّأْ وَ اصْعَدْ إِلَى سَطْحِكَ وَ صَلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَ تَوَجَّهْ نَحْوِي فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ زَارَنِي فِي حَيَاتِي فَقَدْ زَارَنِي فِي مَمَاتِي وَ مَنْ زَارَنِي فِي مَمَاتِي فَقَدْ زَارَنِي فِي حَيَاتِي

4. Sulaymān ibn ‘Isā narrated from his father, who said: I asked Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)), “How should I perform your Ziyārah if I am not able to (come to visit you?)” Imam (a.s.) replied: O ‘Isā! When you are not able to come (to my Ziyārah), perform a Ghusl or Wuďū on a Friday, ascend to the roof of your house, establish two Rak’ah of prayers, and then turn toward the direction of my location. Verily those who come to visit me during my life (are like those who) have performed my Ziyārah after my death, and those who perform my Ziyārah after my death (are like those who) have come to visit me during my life.

5 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الرَّزَّازُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الدِّهْقَانِ [الدَّهَّانِ] عَنْ مَنِيعِ بْنِ الْحَجَّاجِ عَنْ حَنَانِ بْنِ سَدِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ لِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) يَا سَدِيرُ تُكْثِرُ مِنْ زِيَارَةِ قَبْرِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحُسَيْنِ قُلْتُ إِنَّهُ مِنَ الشُّغُلِ فَقَالَ أَ لَا أُعَلِّمُكَ شَيْئاً إِذَا أَنْتَ فَعَلْتَهُ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَكَ بِذَلِكَ الزِّيَارَةَ فَقُلْتُ بَلَى جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ فَقَالَ لِي اغْتَسِلْ فِي مَنْزِلِكَ وَ اصْعَدْ إِلَى سَطْحِ دَارِكَ وَ أَشِرْ إِلَيْهِ بِالسَّلَامِ يُكْتَبْ لَكَ بِذَلِكَ الزِّيَارَةُ

5. Muĥammad ibn Ja’far Al-Razzāz narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Ĥusain ibn Abil Khaťťāb, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Muĥammad Al-Dihqān/Al-Dahhān, from Manǐ’ ibn Ĥajjāj, from Ĥanān ibn Sadǐr, from his father, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) asked me, “O Sadǐr! (Why) do you not perform the Ziyārah of the grave of Abǐ ‘Abdillāh Al-Ĥusain (a.s.) frequently?” I replied, “Because I am busy.” Imam (a.s.) asked, “Should I not teach you an act that if you perform it, Allāh will register the Ziyārah for you?” I replied, “Yes, may I sacrifice myself for you!” Imam (a.s.) said, “Perform a Ghusl in your house, ascend to the roof of your house, and say Salām to him by pointing toward him (his grave). By doing this, the Ziyārah (of Ĥusain (a.s.)) will be registered for you.”

6 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ سَهْلٍ عَنْ أَبِي أَحْمَدَ عَمَّنْ رَوَاهُ قَالَ قَالَ لِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) إِذَا بَعُدَتْ عَلَيْكَ الشُّقَّةُ وَ نَأَتْ بِكَ الدَّارُ فَلْتَعْلُ عَلَى أَعْلَى مَنْزِلِكَ وَ لْتُصَلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَلْتُومِ بِالسَّلَامِ إِلَى قُبُورِنَا فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ يَصِلُ إِلَيْنَا

6. Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan Al-Šaffār, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Ismā’ǐl ibn Sahl, from Abǐ Aĥmad (Ibn Abǐ ‘Umayr), from someone who narrated to him, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said to me: If you live far (from us) and there is a great distance between you and us, ascend to the highest place of your house, establish two Rak’ah of prayers, point toward our graves, and say Salām to us, for verily it will reach us.

7 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ الْحِمْيَرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَرْقِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَفَعَ الْحَدِيثَ إِلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ دَخَلَ حَنَانُ بْنُ سَدِيرٍ الصَّيْرَفِيُّ عَلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) وَ عِنْدَهُ جَمَاعَةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فَقَالَ يَا حَنَانَ بْنَ سَدِيرٍ تَزُورُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) فِي كُلِّ شَهْرٍ مَرَّةً قَالَ لَا قَالَ فَفِي كُلِّ شَهْرَيْنِ مَرَّةً قَالَ لَا قَالَ فَفِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ مَرَّةً قَالَ لَا- قَالَ مَا أَجْفَاكُمْ لِسَيِّدِكُمْ فَقَالَ يَا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ قِلَّةُ الزَّادِ وَ بُعْدُ الْمَسَافَةِ- قَالَ أَ لَا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى زِيَارَةٍ مَقْبُولَةٍ وَ إِنْ بَعُدَ النَّائِي قَالَ فَكَيْفَ أَزُورُهُ يَا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ قَالَ اغْتَسِلْ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ أَوْ أَيَّ يَوْمٍ شِئْتَ وَ الْبَسْ أَطْهَرَ ثِيَابِكَ وَ اصْعَدْ إِلَى أَعْلَى مَوْضِعٍ فِي دَارِكَ أَوِ الصَّحْرَاءِ وَ اسْتَقْبِلِ الْقِبْلَةَ بِوَجْهِكَ بَعْدَ مَا تَبَيَّنَ أَنَّ الْقَبْرَ هُنَاكَ يَقُولُ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى فَأَيْنَما تُوَلُّوا فَثَمَّ وَجْهُ اللّهِ ثُمَّ تَقُولُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مَوْلَايَ وَ ابْنَ مَوْلَايَ وَ سَيِّدِي وَ ابْنَ سَيِّدِي السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مَوْلَايَ الشَّهِيدَ بْنَ الشَّهِيدِ وَ الْقَتِيلَ بْنَ الْقَتِيلِ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ أَنَا زَائِرُكَ يَا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ بِقَلْبِي وَ لِسَانِي وَ جَوَارِحِي وَ إِنْ لَمْ أَزُرْكَ بِنَفْسِي مُشَاهَدَةً لِقُبَّتِكَ فَعَلَيْكَ السَّلَامُ يَا وَارِثَ آدَمَ صِفْوَةِ اللَّهِ وَ وَارِثَ نُوحٍ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ وَ وَارِثَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ خَلِيلِ اللَّهِ- وَ وَارِثَ مُوسَى كَلِيمِ اللَّهِ وَ وَارِثَ عِيسَى رُوحِ اللَّهِ وَ وَارِثَ مُحَمَّدٍ حَبِيبِ اللَّهِ وَ نَبِيِّهِ وَ رَسُولِهِ وَ وَارِثَ عَلِيٍّ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَصِيِّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ وَ خَلِيفَتِهِ وَ وَارِثَ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ وَصِيِّ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ لَعَنَ اللَّهُ قَاتِلِيكَ وَ جَدَّدَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْعَذَابَ فِي هَذِهِ السَّاعَةِ وَ فِي كُلِّ سَاعَةٍ- أَنَا يَا سَيِّدِي مُتَقَرِّبٌ إِلَى اللَّهِ جَلَّ وَ عَزَّ وَ إِلَى جَدِّكَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ وَ إِلَى أَبِيكَ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَ إِلَى أَخِيكَ الْحَسَنِ وَ إِلَيْكَ يَا مَوْلَايَ فَعَلَيْكَ السَّلَامُ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ بِزِيَارَتِي لَكَ بِقَلْبِي وَ لِسَانِي وَ جَمِيعِ جَوَارِحِي فَكُنْ لِي يَا سَيِّدِي شَفِيعِي لِقَبُولِ ذَلِكَ مِنِّي وَ أَنَا بِالْبَرَاءَةِ مِنْ أَعْدَائِكَ وَ اللَّعْنَةِ لَهُمْ وَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَتَقَرَّبُ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَ إِلَيْكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ فَعَلَيْكَ صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ وَ رِضْوَانُهُ وَ رَحْمَتُهُ ثُمَّ تَحَوَّلْ عَلَى يَسَارِكَ قَلِيلًا وَ تتحول [تُحَوِّلُ وَجْهَكَ إِلَى قَبْرِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ وَ هُوَ عِنْدَ رِجْلِ أَبِيهِ وَ تُسَلِّمُ عَلَيْهِ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ ادْعُ اللَّهَ بِمَا أَحْبَبْتَ مِنْ أَمْرِ دِينِكَ وَ دُنْيَاكَ ثُمَّ تُصَلِّي أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ فَإِنَّ صَلَاةَ الزِّيَارَةِ ثَمَانٌ أَوْ سِتٌّ أَوْ أَرْبَعٌ أَوْ رَكْعَتَانِ وَ أَفْضَلُهَا ثَمَانٌ ثُمَّ تَسْتَقْبِلُ نَحْوَ قَبْرِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) وَ تَقُولُ أَنَا مُوَدِّعُكَ يَا مَوْلَايَ وَ ابْنَ مَوْلَايَ وَ يَا سَيِّدِي وَ ابْنَ سَيِّدِي وَ مُوَدِّعُكَ يَا سَيِّدِي وَ ابْنَ سَيِّدِي يَا عَلِيَّ بْنَ الْحُسَيْنِ وَ مُوَدِّعُكُمْ يَا سَادَاتِي يَا مَعَاشِرَ الشُّهَدَاءِ- فَعَلَيْكُمْ سَلَامُ اللَّهِ وَ رَحْمَتُهُ وَ رِضْوَانُهُ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ

7. Muĥammad ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Ja’far Al-Ĥimyari narrated to me from his father, from Aĥmad ibn Abǐ ‘Abdillāh Al-Barqi, from his father, who narrated that: Ĥanān ibn Sadǐr Al-Šayrafi went to (visit) Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) when a group of his companions were with him. Imam (a.s.) asked him, “O Ĥanān ibn Sadǐr! Do you perform the Ziyārah of Abǐ ‘Abdillāh (Imam Ĥusain (a.s.)) once every month?” Ĥanān replied, “No.” Imam (a.s.) asked, “What about once every two months?” Ĥanān replied, “No.” Imam (a.s.) asked, “What about once a year?” Ĥanān replied, “No.” Imam (a.s.) said, “How negligent you people are toward your master!!!” Ĥanān said, “O son of the Messenger of Allāh! It is because of lack of wealth and the greatness of the distance.” Imam (a.s.) said, “Should I not teach you an accepted Ziyārah even from a great distance?!” Ĥanān asked, “How should I perform his Ziyārah, O son of the Messenger of Allāh?” Imam (a.s.) replied: Perform a Ghusl on a Friday or any other day you wish, wear the most purified of your clothes, ascend to the highest place in your house or in a desert, and then face the Qiblah after ensuring that the grave is also in the same direction, for Allāh, the Blessed and the Exalted, says, “Wherever you turn, there is the face of Allāh” (2:115). Then say:          Salām to you, O my master and the son of my master and O my leader and the son of my leader.                Salām to you, O my master, the Martyr and son of the Martyr, the Slain (One) and the son of the Slain (One). Salām to you and (may) Allāh’s Mercy and Blessings be upon you.                I am performing your Ziyārah, O son of the Messenger of Allāh with my heart, my tongue, and my organs although I have not come to your Ziyārah physically where I can see your dome.        Salām to you, O heir of Ādam, the Chosen Slave of Allāh;     And O heir of Nūĥ, the Prophet of Allāh;     And O heir of Ibrāhǐm, the Friend of Allāh;     And O heir of Mūsā, the One Addressed by Allāh;     And O heir of ‘Isā, the Spirit of Allāh;       And O heir of Muĥammad, the Love, the Prophet, and the Messenger of Allāh;        And O heir of ‘Ali, the Commander of the Believers, the Successor of the Messenger of Allāh and his Caliph;       And O heir of Ĥasan ibn ‘Ali, the Successor of the Commander of the Believers.             May Allāh’s curse be upon those who killed you and may He renew their torment in this hour and in every hour.                                  O my master! I seek nearness to Allāh, the Great and Almighty, and to your grandfather, the Messenger of Allāh, and to your father, the Commander of the Believers, and to your brother, Ĥasan, and to you, O my leader, through performing your Ziyārah with my heart, my tongue, and all of my organs. Salām to you and (may) Allāh’s Mercy and Blessings be upon you.         O my master! Intercede on my behalf so that this Ziyārah is accepted from me.             I seek nearness to Allāh and to all of you by dissociating myself from your enemies and by cursing them.      May Allāh’s blessings, His Pleasure, and His Mercy be upon you. Then move a short distance to the left and turn your face toward the grave of ‘Ali ibn Ĥusain (a.s.), who is (buried) next to the feet of his father, and say Salām to him in the same way. Thereafter, ask Allāh for that which you want with regards to the matters of your religion and your life and then establish four Rak’ah of prayers. Verily the prayers of the Ziyārah can be established in either eight, six, four, or two Rak’ah, and the best is eight Rak’ah. After the prayers face the grave of Abǐ ‘Abdillāh (Imam Ĥusain (a.s.)) and say:           I bid farewell to you, O my master and the son of my master and O my leader and the son of my leader.          And I bid farewell to you, O my master and the son of my master, O ‘Ali ibn Ĥusain.       And I bid farewell to you, O my masters, O crowd of Martyrs.       May Allāh’s Salām, His Mercy, His Pleasure, and His Blessings be upon you.
