1 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي وَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ ره عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَبَانٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجَوْهَرِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ الْعَبْدَ الصَّالِحَ عَنْ زِيَارَةِ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ (ع) فَقَالَ مَا أُحِبُّ لَكَ تَرْكَهُ قُلْتُ مَا تَرَى فِي الصَّلَاةِ عِنْدَهُ وَ أَنَا مُقَصِّرٌ قَالَ صَلِّ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ مَا شِئْتَ تَطَوُّعاً- وَ فِي مَسْجِدِ الرَّسُولِ مَا شِئْتَ تَطَوُّعاً وَ عِنْدَ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) فَإِنِّي أُحِبُّ ذَلِكَ قَالَ وَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ بِالنَّهَارِ عِنْدَ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) تَطَوُّعاً فَقَالَ نَعَمْ

1. My father and Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan both narrated to me from Ĥusain ibn Ĥasan ibn Abān, from Ĥusain ibn Sa’ǐd, from Qāsim ibn Muĥammad Al-Jawhari, from ‘Ali ibn Abǐ Ĥamzah, who said: I asked the Righteous Slave (Imam Kāżim (a.s.)) about going to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ĥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.). Imam (a.s.) replied, “I do not want you to abandon it.” I asked, “What is your opinion about establishing voluntary prayers there if I am a MUQAŠŠIR?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “You can establish as many voluntary prayers as you like in Masjid Al-Ĥarām, in the Mosque of the Messenger (s.a.a.w.), and next to the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.). Verily I love (doing) that.” I asked, “Can I establish voluntary prayers next to the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) during the day?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Yes.”

2 حَدَّثَنِي جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْمُوسَوِيُّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نَهِيكٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ (ع) قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ التَّطَوُّعِ عِنْدَ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) وَ بِمَكَّةَ وَ الْمَدِينَةِ وَ أَنَا مُقَصِّرٌ قَالَ تَطَوَّعْ عِنْدَهُ وَ أَنْتَ مُقَصِّرٌ مَا شِئْتَ وَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ وَ فِي مَسْجِدِ الرَّسُولِ وَ فِي مَشَاهِدِ النَّبِيِّص فَإِنَّهُ خَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ هَاشِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ وَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ جَمِيعاً عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ (ع) مِثْلَهُ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ره عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مُوسَى الْخَشَّابِ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ الْخَثْعَمِيِّ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ (ع) مِثْلَهُ

2. Ja’far ibn Muĥammad ibn Ibrāhǐm Al-Mūsawi narrated to me from ‘Ubaydillāh ibn Nahǐk, from Ibn Abǐ ‘Umayr, who said: I asked Abāl Ĥasan (Imam Kāżim (a.s.)) about establishing voluntary prayers next to the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.), in Makkah, and in Madǐnah as a Muqaššir. Imam (a.s.) replied, “You can establish as many voluntary prayers as you like as a Muqaššir next to his grave, in Masjid Al-Ĥarām, in the Mosque of the Messenger (s.a.a.w.), and in the (holy) sites of the Prophet (s.a.a.w.). Verily this is a blessing.” The above Ĥadǐth has also been narrated to me through the following chains: A) ‘Ali ibn Ĥusain, from ‘Ali ibn Ibrāhǐm ibn Hāshim, from his father, from Ibn Abǐ ‘Umayr, and from Ibrāhǐm ibn ‘Abdil Ĥamǐd, from Abil Ĥasan (a.s.). B) My father, from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Ĥasan ibn Mūsā Al-Khashāb, from Ja’far ibn Muĥammad ibn Ĥakǐm Al-Khath’ami, from Ibrāhǐm ibn ‘Abdil Ĥamǐd, from Abil Ĥasan (a.s.).

3 حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ الْكِسَائِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُصَدِّقِ بْنِ صَدَقَةَ عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ مُوسَى السَّابَاطِيِّ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فِي الْحَائِرِ قَالَ لَيْسَ الصَّلَاةُ إِلَّا الْفَرْضَ بِالتَّقْصِيرِ وَ لَا تُصَلِّي النَّوَافِلَ

3. ‘Ali ibn Muĥammad ibn Ya’qūb Al-Kisā`i narrated to me from ‘Ali ibn Ĥasan ibn Faďďāl, from ‘Amr ibn Sa’ǐd, from Mušaddiq ibn Šadaqah, from ‘Ammār ibn Mūsā Al-Sābāťi, who said: I asked Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) about establishing prayers in the Ĥā`ir. Imam (a.s.) replied, “One should only establish the obligatory prayers in Taqšǐr and he does not have to establish the NĀFILAH prayers.”

4 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي (رحمه الله) عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ (ع) قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ التَّطَوُّعِ عِنْدَ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) وَ مَشَاهِدِ النَّبِيِّ (ص) وَ الْحَرَمَيْنِ وَ التَّطَوُّعِ فِيهِنَّ بِالصَّلَاةِ وَ نَحْنُ مُقَصِّرُونَ قَالَ نَعَمْ تَطَوَّعْ مَا قَدَرْتَ عَلَيْهِ هُوَ خَيْرٌ

4. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from ‘Ali ibn Ismā’ǐl, from Šafwān ibn Yaĥyā, from Isĥāq ibn ‘Ammār, who said: I asked Abal Ĥasan (Imam Kāżim (a.s.)) if a Muqaššir can establish voluntary prayers next to the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.), at (different holy) sites of the Prophet (s.a.a.w.), and in the two Ĥarams. Imam (a.s.) replied, “Yes. Establish as many voluntary prayers as you can for it is a blessing.”

5 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي الْحَسَنِ (ع) جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ- أَتَنَفَّلُ فِي الْحَرَمَيْنِ وَ عِنْدَ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) وَ أَنَا أُقَصِّرُ قَالَ نَعَمْ مَا قَدَرْتَ عَلَيْهِ

5. Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan ibn Aĥmad ibn Walǐd narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan Al-Šaffār, from Muĥammad ibn Ĥusain ibn Abil Khaťťāb, from Šafwān ibn Yaĥyā, from Isĥāq ibn ‘Ammār, who said: I asked Abal Ĥasan (Imam Kāżim (a.s.)), “May I sacrifice myself for you! Can I establish voluntary prayers in the two Ĥarams and next to the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) if I am a Muqaššir?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Yes, as much as you can.”

6 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ره وَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَبَانٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجَوْهَرِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ أَبِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ (ع) قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ التَّطَوُّعِ عِنْدَ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) وَ مَشَاهِدِ النَّبِيِّص وَ الْحَرَمَيْنِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَ نَحْنُ نُقَصِّرُ قَالَ نَعَمْ تَطَوَّعْ مَا قَدَرْتَ عَلَيْهِ

6. My father and Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan both narrated to me from Ĥusain ibn Ĥasan ibn Abān, from Ĥusain ibn Sa’ǐd, from Qāsim ibn Muĥammad Al-Jawhari, from ‘Ali ibn Abǐ Ĥamzah, who said: I asked Abā Ibrāhǐm (Imam Kāżim (a.s.)) if a Muqaššir can establish voluntary prayers next to the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.), in the (different holy) sites of the Prophet (s.a.a.w.), and in the two Ĥarams. Imam (a.s.) replied, “Yes. Establish as many voluntary prayers as you can.” Note from the Author: My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh who asked Ayyūb ibn Nūĥ about that which has been narrated in regards to Taqšǐr of the prayers in the holy sites like Makkah, Madǐnah, Kūfah, and next to the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.). He replied, “I (believe it is also permissible to) establish the obligatory prayers in Taqšǐr, and Šafwān used to do the same. Ibn Abǐ ‘Umayr and the rest of our companions also used to establish the obligatory prayers in Taqšǐr in these four sites.”
