1 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي (رحمه الله) وَ جَمَاعَةُ مَشَايِخِي عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْبَرْقِيِّ وَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ الْحِمْيَرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَرْقِيِّ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ نَاجِيَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ صَلِّ عِنْدَ رَأْسِ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ ع

1. My father and all of my scholars narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Muĥammad ibn Khālid Al-Barqi, from Ja’far ibn Nājiyah, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: Prayers should be established next to the head of the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.). The above Ĥadǐth has also been narrated to me through the following chain: Muĥammad ibn ‘Abdillāh, from his father ‘Abdillāh ibn Ja’far Al-Ĥimyari, from Abǐ ‘Abdillāh Al-Barqi, from Ja’far ibn Nājiyah, from Abǐ ‘Abdillāh (a.s.).

2 وَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي (رحمه الله) وَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ وَ جَمَاعَةُ مَشَايِخِي عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُمَرَ وَ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ نُوحٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ أَبِي الْيَسَعِ قَالَ سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) وَ أَنَا أَسْمَعُ قَالَ إِذَا أَتَيْتُ قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) أَجْعَلُهُ قِبْلَةً إِذَا صَلَّيْتُ- قَالَ تَنَحَّ هَكَذَا نَاحِيَةً

2. My father, ‘Ali ibn Ĥusain and all of my scholars narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Mūsā ibn ‘Umar, and from Ayyūb ibn Nūĥ, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Mughǐrah, from Abil Yasa’, who said: I heard a man ask Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)), “When I go to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.), can I pray toward Qiblah facing the grave?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Move to the side a little.”

3 حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ره عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجْرَانَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ إِذَا فَرَغْتَ مِنَ التَّسْلِيمِ عَلَى الشُّهَدَاءِ أَتَيْتَ [فَأْتِ] قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ ثُمَّ تَجْعَلُهُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ ثُمَّ تُصَلِّي مَا بَدَا لَكَ

3. ‘Ali ibn Ĥusain narrated to me from ‘Ali ibn Ibrāhǐm, from his father, from Ibn Abǐ Najrān, from Yazǐd ibn Isĥāq, from Ĥasan ibn ‘Aťiyyah, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said (as part of a longer Ĥadǐth): After saying Salām to the martyrs, come (back) to the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) and face the grave and establish as many prayers as possible.

4 وَ عَنْهُ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ قُلْتُ إِنَّا نَزُورُ قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ ع فَكَيْفَ نُصَلِّي عِنْدَهُ قَالَ تَقُومُ خَلْفَهُ عِنْدَ كَتِفَيْهِ ثُمَّ تُصَلِّي عَلَى النَّبِيِّ (ص) وَ تُصَلِّي عَلَى الْحُسَيْنِ ع

4. ‘Ali ibn Ĥusain narrated to me from ‘Ali ibn Ibrāhǐm, from his father, from Ibn Faďďāl, from ‘Ali ibn ‘Uqbah, from ‘Ubaydillāh ibn ‘Ali Al-Ĥalabi, who said: I said to Abǐ ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)), “When we go to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.), how should we establish prayers next to him?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Stand behind the grave near his shoulders and then send blessing on the Prophet (s.a.a.w.) and send blessing on Ĥusain (a.s.).”

5 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ نُوحٍ وَ غَيْرِهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الْيَسَعِ قَالَ سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) وَ أَنَا أَسْمَعُ عَنِ الْغُسْلِ إِذَا أَتَى قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) قَالَ أَجْعَلُهُ قِبْلَةً إِذَا صَلَّيْتُ قَالَ تَنَحَّ هَكَذَا نَاحِيَةً قَالَ آخُذُ مِنْ طِينِ قَبْرِهِ وَ يَكُونُ عِنْدِي أَطْلُبُ بَرَكَتَهُ قَالَ نَعَمْ أَوْ قَالَ لَا بَأْسَ بِذَلِكَ

5. Muĥammad ibn Ja’far narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Ĥusain, from Ayyūb ibn Nūĥ, and from others, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Mughǐrah, from Abil Yasa’, who said: I heard a man ask Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) about performing Ghusl before going to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.). Then he asked, “Can I pray toward Qiblah facing the grave?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Move to the side a little.” The man asked, “Can I take some of the clay of the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) and keep it to seek blessings from it?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Yes – or he said – there is nothing wrong with doing so.”

6 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَمَّادٍ الْبَصْرِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَصَمِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) أَنَّهُ أَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ لَهُ يَا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ هَلْ يُزَارُ وَالِدُكَ قَالَ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ وَ يُصَلَّى عِنْدَهُ وَ قَالَ وَ يُصَلَّى خَلْفَهُ وَ لَا يُتَقَدَّمُ

6. Muĥammad ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Ja’far narrated to me from his father, from ‘Ali ibn Muĥammad ibn Sālim, from Muĥammad ibn Khālid, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Ĥammād Al-Bašri, from ‘Abdillāh ibn ‘Abdil Raĥmān Al-Ašam, from Hishām ibn Sālim, who said: A man came to Abǐ ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) and asked, “O son of the Messenger of Allāh! Should one go to the Ziyārah of your father (Ĥusain (a.s.))?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Yes and establish prayers next to his grave. But one should not establish prayers in front of the grave, but rather, should stand behind it when establishing prayers.”
