1 حَدَّثَنِي الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ الْحَنَّاطِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (ع) قَالَ قَالَ مَنْ لَمْ يَأْتِ قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) مِنْ شِيعَتِنَا كَانَ مُنْتَقَصَ الْإِيمَانِ مُنْتَقَصَ الدِّينِ وَ إِنْ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ كَانَ دُونَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

1. Ĥasan ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā narrated to me from his father, from Ĥasan ibn Maĥbūb, from ‘Āšim ibn Ĥumayd Al-Ĥannāť, from Muĥammad ibn Muslim, who said: Abū Ja’far (Imam Bāqir (a.s.)) said: Those from among our Shia who do not go to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) are lacking in faith and their belief is incomplete. And even if they enter Paradise, their position will be lower than that of the believers.

2 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ أَبِي الْمِعْزَى عَنْ عَنْبَسَةَ بْنِ مُصْعَبٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ مَنْ لَمْ يَأْتِ قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) حَتَّى يَمُوتَ كَانَ مُنْتَقَصَ الدِّينِ مُنْتَقَصَ الْإِيمَانِ وَ إِنْ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ كَانَ دُونَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

2. Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan ibn Aĥmad ibn Walǐd narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan Al-Šaffār, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Išā, from ’Ali ibn Ĥakam, from Abil Maghrā, from ‘Anbasah ibn Muš’ab, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: Those who do not go to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) before their death are lacking in faith and their belief is incomplete. And even if they enter Paradise, their position will be lower than that of the believers.

3 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي وَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ سَيْفِ بْنِ عَمِيرَةَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ مَنْ لَمْ يَأْتِ قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) وَ هُوَ يَزْعُمُ أَنَّهُ لَنَا شِيعَةٌ حَتَّى يَمُوتَ فَلَيْسَ هُوَ لَنَا بِشِيعَةٍ وَ إِنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فَهُوَ مِنْ ضِيفَانِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ

3. My father and ‘Ali ibn Ĥusain both narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from his father, from Sayf ibn ‘Amǐrah, from someone who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: Those who think they are among our Shia but do not go to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) before their death, are not from among our Shia. And even if they are among those who enter Paradise, they will be (treated) as visitors in Paradise.

4 وَ بِإِسْنَادِهِ عَنْ سَيْفِ بْنِ عَمِيرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (ع) قَالَ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ مَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَعْلَمَ أَنَّهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فَيَعْرِضُ حُبَّنَا عَلَى قَلْبِهِ فَإِنْ قَبِلَهُ فَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ وَ مَنْ كَانَ لَنَا مُحِبّاً فَلْيَرْغَبْ فِي زِيَارَةِ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) فَمَنْ كَانَ لِلْحُسَيْنِ (ع) زَوَّاراً عَرَفْنَاهُ بِالْحُبِّ لَنَا أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ وَ مَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِلْحُسَيْنِ زَوَّاراً كَانَ نَاقِصَ الْإِيمَانِ

4. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from his father, from Sayf ibn ‘Amǐrah, from Abǐ Bakr Al-Ĥaďrami, who said: I heard Abā Ja’far (Imam Bāqir (a.s.)) say: Those who want to know if they will be among the inhabitants of Paradise should present our love to their hearts. If their hearts accept loving us, then they are believers. And those who love us, should surely desire (going to) the Ziyārah of the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.). Those who repeatedly go to the Ziyārah of Ĥusain (a.s.) are recognized by us as the lovers of us, the Ahlul Bayt (a.s.), and they will be among the inhabitants of Paradise, whereas the faith of those who do not go to the Ziyārah of Ĥusain (a.s.) is incomplete.

5 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي وَ جَمَاعَةُ مَشَايِخِي عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ إِدْرِيسَ عَنِ الْعَمْرَكِيِّ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْبُوفَكِيِّ عَمَّنْ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ صَنْدَلٍ عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ خَارِجَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَمَّنْ تَرَكَ الزِّيَارَةَ زِيَارَةَ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ مِنْ غَيْرِ عِلَّةٍ قَالَ هَذَا رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ

5. My father and all of my scholars narrated to me from Aĥmad ibn Idrǐs, from ‘Amraki ibn ‘Ali Al-Būfaki, from someone who narrated to him, from Šandal, from Hārūn ibn Khārijah, who said: I asked Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) about a person who neglects going to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ĥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.) without any reason. Imam (a.s.) replied, “Such a person will be from the inhabitants of Hell.”

6 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الرَّزَّازُ الْكُوفِيُّ الْقُرَشِيُّ عَنْ خَالِهِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْخَطَّابِ عَمَّنْ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) يَقُولُ لَوْ أَنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ حَجَّ أَلْفَ حِجَّةٍ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَأْتِ قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ (ع) لَكَانَ قَدْ تَرَكَ حَقّاً مِنْ حُقُوقِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى وَ سُئِلَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ حَقُّ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) مَفْرُوضٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ

6. Muĥammad ibn Ja’far Al-Razzāz Al-Kūfi Al-Qurashi narrated to me from his uncle Muĥammad ibn Ĥusain ibn Abil Khaťťāb, from someone who narrated to him, from ‘Ali ibn Maymūn, who said: I heard Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) say: Verily if one of you goes for Hajj one thousand times but does not go to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ĥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.), he has neglected one of his obligations toward Allāh, the Exalted. Then someone asked the Imam (a.s.) for the reason and he replied, “Fulfilling one’s obligation toward Ĥusain (a.s.) is mandatory on every Muslim.”

7 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ الْحِمْيَرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَمَّادٍ الْبَصْرِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَصَمِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي حَدِيثٍ لَهُ طَوِيلٍ أَنَّهُ أَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ لَهُ هَلْ يُزَارُ وَالِدُكَ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَمَا لِمَنْ زَارَهُ قَالَ الْجَنَّةُ إِنْ كَانَ يَأْتَمُّ بِهِ قَالَ فَمَا لِمَنْ تَرَكَهُ رَغْبَةً عَنْهُ قَالَ الْحَسْرَةُ يَوْمَ الْحَسْرَةِ- وَ ذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ بِطُولِهِ

7. Muĥammad ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Ja’far Al-Ĥimyari narrated to me from his father, from ‘Ali ibn Muĥammad ibn Sālim, from Muĥammad ibn Khālid, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Ĥammād Al-Bašri, from ‘Abdillāh ibn ‘Abdil Raĥmān Al-Ašam, from Hishām ibn Sālim, who said: A man came to Abǐ ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) and asked – as part of a longer Ĥadǐth, “Should one go to the Ziyārah of your father (Ĥusain (a.s.))?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Yes.” The man asked, “What is the reward for those who go to his Ziyārah?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Paradise, (but only) if they believe in his Imamate.” The man asked, “What about those who neglect his Ziyārah on purpose?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “(They will) regret (it) on the Day of Regret.”
