1 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ الْقُرَشِيُّ الرَّزَّازُ الْكُوفِيُّ عَنْ خَالِهِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ بَشِيرٍ الدَّهَّانِ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) رُبَّمَا فَاتَنِي الْحَجُّ فَأُعَرِّفُ عِنْدَ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) فَقَالَ أَحْسَنْتَ يَا بَشِيرُ أَيُّمَا مُؤْمِنٍ أَتَى قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) عَارِفاً بِحَقِّهِ فِي غَيْرِ يَوْمِ عِيدٍ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ عِشْرِينَ حِجَّةً- وَ عِشْرِينَ عُمْرَةً مَبْرُورَاتٍ مُتَقَبَّلَاتٍ وَ عِشْرِينَ غَزْوَةً مَعَ نَبِيٍّ مُرْسَلٍ أَوْ إِمَامٍ عَدْلٍ- وَ مَنْ أَتَاهُ فِي يَوْمِ عِيدٍ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ مِائَةَ حِجَّةٍ وَ مِائَةَ عُمْرَةٍ وَ مِائَةَ غَزْوَةٍ مَعَ نَبِيٍّ مُرْسَلٍ أَوْ إِمَامٍ عَدْلٍ- وَ مَنْ أَتَاهُ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ عَارِفاً بِحَقِّهِ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ أَلْفَ حِجَّةٍ وَ أَلْفَ عُمْرَةٍ مُتَقَبَّلَاتٍ- وَ أَلْفَ غَزْوَةٍ مَعَ نَبِيٍّ مُرْسَلٍ أَوْ إِمَامٍ عَدْلٍ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ وَ كَيْفَ لِي بِمِثْلِ الْمَوْقِفِ قَالَ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيَّ شِبْهَ الْمُغْضَبِ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا بَشِيرُ إِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ إِذَا أَتَى قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ وَ اغْتَسَلَ فِي الْفُرَاتِ ثُمَّ تَوَجَّهَ إِلَيْهِ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِكُلِّ خُطْوَةٍ حِجَّةً بِمَنَاسِكِهَا وَ لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا قَالَ وَ غَزْوَةً

1. Muĥammad ibn Ja’far Al-Qurashi Al-Razzāz Al-Kūfi narrated to me from his uncle Muĥammad ibn Ĥusain ibn Abil Khaťťāb, from Muĥammad ibn Ismā’ǐl, from Šāliĥ ibn ‘Uqbah, from Bashǐr Al-Dahhān, who said: I said to Abǐ ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)), “Sometimes I miss (the opportunity to go to) Hajj so I go and spend the Day of ‘Arafah next to the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) instead.” Imam (a.s.) said: Well done, O Bashǐr! Verily Allāh will register twenty purified and accepted Hajj, twenty purified and accepted ‘Umrah, and the reward of (fighting in) twenty battles with one of Allāh’s messengers or with a Just Imam for any believer who goes to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) knowing his rights on any day other than an Eid. Allāh will register one hundred Hajj and ‘Umrah and the reward of (fighting in) one hundred battles with one of Allāh’s messengers or with a Just Imam for anyone who goes to him (Imam Ĥusain (a.s.)) on any Eid day. Allāh will register one thousand accepted Hajj and ‘Umrah and the reward of (fighting in) one thousand battles with one of Allāh’s messengers or with a Just Imam for anyone who goes to him (Imam Ĥusain (a.s.)) on the Day of ‘Arafah knowing his rights. I said, “But how can I be anywhere better than ‘Arafāt on the day of ‘Arafah?” Imam (a.s.) looked at me angrily and said, “O Bashǐr! When a believer goes to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) on the Day of ‘Arafah after performing Ghusl with the water of the Euphrates (River), Allāh will register one (complete) Hajj with all of its rituals for him with every step that he takes.” Bashǐr added, “I believe that the Imam (a.s.) also mentioned (that Allāh will register the reward of participating in) a battle.”

2 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ره وَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ وَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ ره جَمِيعاً عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الزَّيَّاتِ عَنْ دَاوُدَ الرَّقِّيِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) وَ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا (ع) وَ هُمَا يَقُولَانِ مَنْ أَتَى قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) بِعَرَفَةَ أَقْلَبَهُ اللَّهُ ثَلِجَ الْفُؤَادِ

2. My father, ‘Ali ibn Ĥusain, and Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan all narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from ‘Ali ibn Ismā’ǐl ibn ‘Isā, from Muĥammad ibn ‘Amr ibn Sa’ǐd Al-Zayyāt, from Dāwūd Al-Raqqi, who said: I heard Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)), Abal Ĥasan Mūsā (Imam Kāżim (a.s.)), and Abal Ĥasan (Imam Riďā (a.s.)) say: Allāh will make those who go to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) on the Day of ‘Arafah return with hearts filled with certainty.

3 وَ عَنْهُمْ عَنْ سَعْدٍ عَنِ الْهَيْثَمِ بْنِ أَبِي مَسْرُوقٍ النَّهْدِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَسْبَاطٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى يَبْدَأُ بِالنَّظَرِ إِلَى زُوَّارِ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) عَشِيَّةَ عَرَفَةَ قَالَ قُلْتُ قَبْلَ نَظَرِهِ لِأَهْلِ الْمَوْقِفِ قَالَ نَعَمْ قُلْتُ كَيْفَ ذَلِكَ قَالَ لِأَنَّ فِي أُولَئِكَ أَوْلَادَ زِنًا- وَ لَيْسَ فِي هَؤُلَاءِ أَوْلَادُ زِنًا

3. My father, ‘Ali ibn Ĥusain, and Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan all narrated to me from Sa’d (ibn ‘Abdillāh), from Haytham ibn Abǐ Masrūq Al-Nahdi, from ‘Ali ibn Asbāť, from some of our companions, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said, “On the eve of ‘Arafah, Allāh, the Blessed and the Exalted, looks at the Zuwwār of the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) first.” I asked, “Even before looking at the people who are in ‘Arafāt?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Yes.” I asked, “Why is that?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Because there are people who are conceived illegitimately among those who are in ‘Arafāt but there are not any illegitimately conceived people among the Zuwwār of Ĥusain (a.s.).”

4 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُسْكَانَ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى يَتَجَلَّى لِزُوَّارِ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) قَبْلَ أَهْلِ عَرَفَاتٍ وَ يَقْضِي حَوَائِجَهُمْ وَ يَغْفِرُ ذُنُوبَهُمْ وَ يُشَفِّعُهُمْ فِي مَسَائِلِهِمْ ثُمَّ يَأْتِي أَهْلَ عَرَفَةَ فَيَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ بِهِمْ

4. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Mūsā ibn ‘Umar, from ‘Ali ibn Nu’mān, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Muskān, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: Verily (on the Day of ‘Arafah), Allāh, the Blessed and the Exalted, manifests (His Mercy) to the Zuwwār of the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) before He does (so) to the people who are in ‘Arafāt. He fulfils their needs, forgives their sins, and accepts their intercession for their requests, and thereafter He attends to the people in ‘Arafāt and honours them in the same way.

5 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي (رحمه الله) وَ جَمَاعَةُ مَشَايِخِي عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى الْعَطَّارِ عَنْ حَمْدَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ النَّيْسَابُورِيِّ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْيَمَانِيُّ عَنْ مَنِيعِ بْنِ الْحَجَّاجِ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ مَنْ فَاتَتْهُ عَرَفَةُ بِعَرَفَاتٍ فَأَدْرَكَهَا بِقَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) لَمْ يَفُتْهُ وَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى لَيَبْدَأُ بِأَهْلِ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) قَبْلَ أَهْلِ عَرَفَاتٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ يُخَالِطُهُمْ بِنَفْسِهِ [فِي نَفْسِهِ]

5. My father and all of my scholars narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Yaĥyā Al-‘Aťťār, from Abǐ Sa’ǐd Ĥamdān ibn Sulaymān Al-Naysābūri, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Muĥammad Al-Yamāni, from Manǐ’ ibn Ĥajjāj, from Yūnus ibn Ya’qūb ibn ‘Ammār, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: Those who miss (the opportunity of) spending the Day of ‘Arafah in ‘Arafāt, but instead spend that day next to the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.), have not missed it. Verily (on the Day of ‘Arafah), Allāh, the Blessed and the Exalted, starts with the people who are next to the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) before the people who are in ‘Arafāt and then He mixes them with Himself.

6 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ره وَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْبَرْقِيِّ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ الرَّاشِدِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ ظَبْيَانَ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) مَنْ زَارَ الْحُسَيْنَ (ع) لَيْلَةَ النِّصْفِ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ وَ لَيْلَةَ الْفِطْرِ وَ لَيْلَةَ عَرَفَةَ فِي سَنَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ أَلْفَ حِجَّةٍ مَبْرُورَةٍ وَ أَلْفَ عُمْرَةٍ مُتَقَبَّلَةٍ- وَ قُضِيَتْ لَهُ أَلْفُ حَاجَةٍ مِنْ حَوَائِجِ الدُّنْيَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ

6. My father and ‘Ali ibn Ĥusain both narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Muĥammad ibn Khālid Al-Barqi, from Qāsim ibn Yaĥyā ibn Ĥasan ibn Rāshid, from his grandfather Ĥasan, from Yūnus ibn Żabyān, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: Allāh will register one thousand purified Hajj and one thousand accepted ‘Umrah and will grant one thousand requests pertaining to this life and the Hereafter for those who go to the Ziyārah of Ĥusain (a.s.) on the night of the fifteenth of Sha’bān, on the night of Fiťr, and on the night of ‘Arafah all in the same year.

7 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْبَرْقِيِّ عَنْ حَنَانِ بْنِ سَدِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ عَرَفَةَ اطَّلَعَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَلَى زُوَّارِ قَبْرِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) فَقَالَ لَهُمُ اسْتَأْنِفُوا فَقَدْ غَفَرْتُ لَكُمْ ثُمَّ يَجْعَلُ إِقَامَتَهُ عَلَى أَهْلِ عَرَفَاتٍ

7. Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan (ibn Aĥmad) ibn Walǐd narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan Al-Šaffār, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Muĥammad ibn Khālid Al-Barqi, from Ĥanān ibn Sadǐr, from his father, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: On the Day of ‘Arafah, Allāh, the Exalted, looks toward the Zuwwār of the grave of Abǐ ‘Abdillāh Al-Ĥusain (a.s.) and says, “Continue with (good) deeds for I have forgiven you.” Thereafter, He attends to the people in ‘Arafāt.

8 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَمَّنْ ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الْعَرْزَمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ عَرَفَةَ نَظَرَ اللَّهُ إِلَى زُوَّارِ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) فَيَقُولُ ارْجِعُوا مَغْفُوراً لَكُمْ مَا مَضَى وَ لَا يُكْتَبُ عَلَى أَحَدٍ مِنْهُمْ ذَنْبٌ سَبْعِينَ يَوْماً مِنْ يَوْمِ يَنْصَرِفُ

8. Muĥammad ibn Ja’far narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Ĥusain, from someone who he mentioned, from ‘Umar ibn Ĥasan Al-‘Arzami, who said: I heard Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) say: On the Day of ‘Arafah, Allāh looks toward the Zuwwār of the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) and says, “Return with your past sins forgiven.” (Moreover) no sins will be registered for them for up to seventy days after they return.

9 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ره وَ جَمَاعَةُ أَصْحَابِي ره عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى وَ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ إِدْرِيسَ جَمِيعاً عَنِ الْعَمْرَكِيِّ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ يَحْيَى الْخَادِمِ لِأَبِي جَعْفَرٍ الثَّانِي (ع) عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ بَشِيرٍ الدَّهَّانِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) يَقُولُ وَ هُوَ نَازِلٌ بِالْحِيرَةِ وَ عِنْدَهُ جَمَاعَةٌ مِنَ الشِّيعَةِ فَأَقْبَلَ إِلَيَّ بِوَجْهِهِ فَقَالَ يَا بَشِيرُ أَ حَجَجْتَ الْعَامَ قُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ لَا- وَ لَكِنْ عَرَّفْتُ بِالْقَبْرِ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) فَقَالَ يَا بَشِيرُ وَ اللَّهِ مَا فَاتَكَ شَيْءٌ مِمَّا كَانَ لِأَصْحَابِ مَكَّةَ بِمَكَّةَ قُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ فِيهِ عَرَفَاتٌ فَسِّرْهُ لِي فَقَالَ يَا بَشِيرُ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ مِنْكُمْ لَيَغْتَسِلُ عَلَى شَاطِئِ الْفُرَاتِ ثُمَّ يَأْتِي قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) عَارِفاً بِحَقِّهِ فَيُعْطِيهِ اللَّهُ بِكُلِّ قَدَمٍ يَرْفَعُهَا وَ [أَوْ] يَضَعُهَا مِائَةَ حِجَّةٍ مَقْبُولَةٍ وَ مِائَةَ عُمْرَةٍ مَبْرُورَةٍ وَ مِائَةَ غَزْوَةٍ مَعَ نَبِيٍّ مُرْسَلٍ إِلَى أَعْدَاءِ اللَّهِ وَ أَعْدَاءِ رَسُولِهِ [إِلَى أَعْدَى عَدُوٍّ لَهُ يَا بَشِيرُ] يَا بَشِيرُ اسْمَعْ وَ أَبْلِغْ مَنِ احْتَمَلَ قَلْبُهُ مَنْ زَارَ الْحُسَيْنَ (ع) يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ كَانَ كَمَنْ زَارَ اللَّهَ فِي عَرْشِهِ

9. My father and all of my scholars narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Yaĥyā, and from Aĥmad ibn Idrǐs, from ‘Amraki ibn ‘Ali, from Yaĥyā – the servant of Abǐ Ja’far the Second (Imam Jawād (a.s.)), from Muĥammad ibn Sinān, from Bashǐr Al-Dahhān, who said: I heard Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) speaking in Ĥǐrah to a group of Shia surrounding him. He turned his face toward me and asked, “O Bashǐr! Did you go for Hajj last year?” I replied, “May I sacrifice myself for you! No, but instead I spent the Day of ‘Arafah next to the grave – referring to the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.).” Imam (a.s.) said, “O Bashǐr! I swear to Allāh that you did not miss anything (from the blessings) that were in Makkah for those who were there.” I said, “May I sacrifice myself for you! Explain this to me, for (the blessing of being in) ‘Arafāt is (only available) in Makkah.” Imam (a.s.) replied: O Bashǐr! Verily every time one of you raises his foot or places it down walking toward the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) while knowing his rights, after performing Ghusl on the shores of the Euphrates (River), Allāh will give you (the reward of) one hundred accepted Hajj and one hundred purified ‘Umrah and (the reward of) fighting in a hundred battles with one of Allāh’s messengers against His enemies and the enemies of His Messenger. O Bashǐr! Listen (carefully) and inform (only) those whose hearts can handle this, “Those who go to the Ziyārah of Ĥusain (a.s.) on the Day of ‘Arafah are like those who go to the Ziyārah of Allāh on His Throne.”

10 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُؤْمِنِ ره عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْكُوفِيِّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْعَبْدِيِّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ ظَبْيَانَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ مَنْ زَارَ قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ أَلْفَ أَلْفِ حِجَّةٍ مَعَ الْقَائِمِ وَ أَلْفَ أَلْفِ عُمْرَةٍ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ (ص) وَ عِتْقَ أَلْفِ أَلْفِ نَسَمَةٍ وَ حُمْلَانَ أَلْفِ أَلْفِ فَرَسٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَ سَمَّاهُ اللَّهُ عَبْدِيَ الصِّدِّيقَ أَمِنَ بِوَعْدِي وَ قَالَتِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ فُلَانٌ صِدِّيقٌ زَكَّاهُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَوْقِ عَرْشِهِ وَ سُمِّيَ فِي الْأَرْضِ كَرُوباً

10. Muĥammad ibn ‘Abdil Mu`min narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Yaĥyā, from Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan Al-Šaffār, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad Al-Kūfi, from Muĥammad ibn Ja’far ibn Ismā’ǐl Al-‘Abdi, from Muĥammad ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Mihrān, from Muĥammad ibn Sinān, from Yūnus ibn Żabyān, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: Allāh will register (the reward of performing) one million Hajj with the Qā`im (a.s.) and one million ‘Umrah with the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.), freeing one million slaves, and offering one million horses in the way of Allah, for one who goes to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) on the Day of ‘Arafah. Allāh will refer to him as, “My Truthful Slave who believed in My Promise.” And the angels will add the title “Truthful” to his name and will say, “Allāh has purified him from the top of His Throne.” Imam (a.s.) added, “He will be referred to as “KARŪB” on earth.”

11 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ره عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ بَزِيعٍ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ بَشِيرٍ الدَّهَّانِ قَالَ قَالَ جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ (ع) مَنْ زَارَ قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ عَارِفاً بِحَقِّهِ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ ثَوَابَ أَلْفِ حِجَّةٍ وَ أَلْفِ عُمْرَةٍ- وَ أَلْفِ غَزْوَةٍ مَعَ نَبِيٍّ مُرْسَلٍ وَ مَنْ زَارَ أَوَّلَ يَوْمٍ مِنْ رَجَبٍ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ الْبَتَّةَ

11. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Muĥammad ibn Ismā’ǐl ibn Bazǐ’, from Šāliĥ ibn ‘Uqbah, from Bashǐr Al-Dahhān, who said: Ja’far ibn Muĥammad (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: Allāh will register the reward of one thousand Hajj and one thousand ‘Umrah and the reward of fighting one thousand times with one of Allāh’s messengers for those who go to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) on the Day of ‘Arafah while knowing his rights. And surely Allāh forgives those who go to his Ziyārah on the first day of Rajab.

12 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْقَمَّاطِ عَنْ يَسَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ مَنْ كَانَ مُعْسِراً فَلَمْ يَتَهَيَّأْ لَهُ حِجَّةُ الْإِسْلَامِ فَلْيَأْتِ قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) وَ لْيُعَرِّفْ عِنْدَهُ- فَذَلِكَ يُجْزِيهِ عَنْ حِجَّةِ الْإِسْلَامِ أَمَا إِنِّي لَا أَقُولُ يُجْزِي ذَلِكَ عَنْ حِجَّةِ الْإِسْلَامِ إِلَّا لِلْمُعْسِرِ فَأَمَّا الْمُوسِرُ إِذَا كَانَ قَدْ حَجَّ حِجَّةَ الْإِسْلَامِ فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَتَنَفَّلَ بِالْحَجِّ أَوِ الْعُمْرَةِ- وَ مَنَعَهُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ شُغُلُ دُنْيَا أَوْ عَائِقٌ فَأَتَى قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) فِي يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ أَجْزَأَهُ ذَلِكَ عَنْ أَدَاءِ الْحَجِّ أَوِ الْعُمْرَةِ وَ ضَاعَفَ اللَّهُ لَهُ ذَلِكَ أَضْعَافاً مُضَاعَفَةً- قَالَ قُلْتُ كَمْ تَعْدِلُ حِجَّةً وَ كَمْ تَعْدِلُ عُمْرَةً قَالَ لَا يُحْصَى ذَلِكَ قَالَ قُلْتُ مِائَةً قَالَ وَ مَنْ يُحْصِي ذَلِكَ قُلْتُ ألف [أَلْفاً قَالَ وَ أَكْثَرَ ثُمَّ قَالَ وَ إِنْ تَعُدُّوا نِعْمَتَ اللّهِ لا تُحْصُوها- إِنَّ اللّهَ واسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ [كَرِيمٌ]

12. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā ibn ‘Ubayd, from Muĥammad ibn Sinān, from Abǐ Sa’ǐd Al-Qammāť, from Yasār, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: If an insolvent person does not find the means to perform Ĥajjatul Islām, then he should go to the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) and spend the Day of ‘Arafah next to his grave, for this will suffice as having performed Ĥajjatul Islām. Beware that I said this will suffice as performing Ĥajjatul Islām only for an insolvent person. If a wealthy person has already performed Ĥajjatul Islām and then decides to go for an additional Hajj or ‘Umrah, but misses it because he was hindered in some way or because he was preoccupied with the matters of this world, but goes to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) on the Day of ‘Arafah, this will be sufficient as having performed that (additional) Hajj or ‘Umrah and Allāh will multiply the rewards of this act greatly for him. I asked, “How many Hajj and how many ‘Umrah will be registered for him?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “It cannot be counted.” I asked, “(Is it) one hundred?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “And who can count it?!” I asked, “One thousand?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “And more.” Then the Imam (a.s.) added, “If you count the bounties of Allāh, you will not be able to number them’ (16:18). ‘Verily Allāh is all-pervading, all-knowing” (2:115).
