1 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْقُرَشِيُّ الرَّزَّازُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ زَيْدٍ الشَّحَّامِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) يَقُولُ مَنْ أَتَى قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) تَشَوُّقاً إِلَيْهِ كَتَبَهُ اللَّهُ مِنَ الْآمِنِينَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَ أُعْطِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ وَ كَانَ تَحْتَ لِوَاءِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) حَتَّى يَدْخُلَ الْجَنَّةَ فَيُسْكِنَهُ فِي دَرَجَتِهِ- إِنَّ اللّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ

1. Muĥammad ibn Ja’far Al-Qurashi Al-Razzāz narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Ĥusain ibn Abil Khaťťāb, from Šafwān ibn Yaĥyā, from Abǐ Usāmah Zayd Al-Shaĥĥām, who said: I heard Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) say: Allāh will register those who go to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) yearning for him as those who will be safe on the Day of Judgment. He will give them their book (of deeds) in their right hand. They will be under the flag of Ĥusain (a.s.) until they enter Paradise and Ĥusain (a.s.) will make them dwell at his level (in Paradise). Verily Allāh is Mighty and Wise.

2 وَ رُوِيَ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (ع) أَنَّ مَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يَكُونَ مَسْكَنُهُ الْجَنَّةَ وَ مَأْوَاهُ الْجَنَّةَ فَلَا يَدَعْ زِيَارَةَ الْمَظْلُومِ قُلْتُ مَنْ هُوَ قَالَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ صَاحِبُ كَرْبَلَاءَ مَنْ أَتَاهُ شَوْقاً إِلَيْهِ وَ حُبّاً لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ وَ حُبّاً لِأَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَ حُبّاً لِفَاطِمَةَ صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ وَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ أَقْعَدَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَى مَوَائِدِ الْجَنَّةِ يَأْكُلُ مَعَهُمْ وَ النَّاسُ فِي الْحِسَابِ

2. It is narrated from Abǐ Bašǐr, who said: Abū Ja’far (Imam Bāqir (a.s.)) said: Those who want their destination and abode to be Paradise should not neglect going to the Ziyārah of the oppressed one. I asked, “Who is the oppressed one?” Imam (a.s.) replied: Ĥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.), the man of Karbalā. Allah will make those who go to his Ziyārah yearning for him and with love for the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.), love for the Commander of the Believers (a.s.), and love for Fāťimah (s.a.), sit at the Mawā`id of Paradise. They will be eating with them while others are undergoing the process of Judgment. The above Ĥadǐth has also been narrated to me through someone who narrated from Abǐ Bašǐr, from Abǐ ‘Abdillāh and Abǐ Ja’far (a.s.).

3 حَدَّثَنِي الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (ع) قَالَ لَوْ يَعْلَمُ النَّاسُ مَا فِي زِيَارَةِ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) مِنَ الْفَضْلِ لَمَاتُوا شَوْقاً وَ تَقَطَّعَتْ أَنْفُسُهُمْ عَلَيْهِ حَسَرَاتٍ- قُلْتُ وَ مَا فِيهِ قَالَ مَنْ أَتَاهُ تَشَوُّقاً كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ أَلْفَ حِجَّةٍ مُتَقَبَّلَةٍ وَ أَلْفَ عُمْرَةٍ مَبْرُورَةٍ- وَ أَجْرَ أَلْفِ شَهِيدٍ مِنْ شُهَدَاءِ بَدْرٍ وَ أَجْرَ أَلْفِ صَائِمٍ وَ ثَوَابَ أَلْفِ صَدَقَةٍ مَقْبُولَةٍ- وَ ثَوَابَ أَلْفِ نَسَمَةٍ أُرِيدَ بِهَا وَجْهُ اللَّهِ وَ لَمْ يَزَلْ مَحْفُوظاً سَنَتَهُ مِنْ كُلِّ آفَةٍ أَهْوَنُهَا الشَّيْطَانُ وَ وُكِّلَ بِهِ مَلَكٌ كَرِيمٌ يَحْفَظُهُ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَ مِنْ خَلْفِهِ وَ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَ عَنْ شِمَالِهِ وَ مِنْ فَوْقِ رَأْسِهِ وَ مِنْ تَحْتِ قَدَمِهِ فَإِنْ مَاتَ سَنَتَهُ حَضَرَتْهُ مَلَائِكَةُ الرَّحْمَةِ- يَحْضُرُونَ غُسْلَهُ وَ أَكْفَانَهُ وَ الِاسْتِغْفَارَ لَهُ وَ يُشَيِّعُونَهُ إِلَى قَبْرِهِ بِالاسْتِغْفَارِ لَهُ- وَ يُفْسَحُ لَهُ فِي قَبْرِهِ مَدَّ بَصَرِهِ وَ يُؤْمِنُهُ اللَّهُ مِنْ ضَغْطَةِ الْقَبْرِ وَ مِنْ مُنْكَرٍ وَ نَكِيرٍ أَنْ يروعانه [يُرَوِّعَاهُ- وَ يُفْتَحُ لَهُ بَابٌ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ وَ يُعْطَى كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ وَ يُعْطَى لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ نورا [نُورٌ يُضِيءُ لِنُورِهِ مَا بَيْنَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَ يُنَادِي مُنَادٍ هَذَا مَنْ زَارَ الْحُسَيْنَ شَوْقاً إِلَيْهِ فَلَا يَبْقَى أَحَدٌ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِلَّا تَمَنَّى يَوْمَئِذٍ أَنَّهُ كَانَ مِنْ زُوَّارِ الْحُسَيْنِ ع

3. Ĥasan ibn ‘Abdillāh narrated to me from his father (‘Abdillāh ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā Al-Ash’ari), from Ĥasan ibn Maĥbūb, from ‘Alā ibn Razǐn, from Muĥammad ibn Muslim, who said: Abū Ja’far (Imam Bāqir (a.s.)) said, “If people knew the reward for going to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.), their souls would leave their bodies out of remorse and they would die yearning for it.” I asked, “What is the reward for going to his Ziyārah?” Imam (a.s.) replied: Allāh will register the reward of one thousand accepted Hajj, one thousand purified ‘Umrah, one thousand martyrs from among the martyrs of (the Battle of) Badr, fasting of one thousand people, one thousand accepted ŠADAQAH, and the reward of freeing one thousand slaves in the way of Allāh for he who goes to the Ziyārah of Ĥusain (a.s.) yearning for him. He will be protected for one year from every plague, the least evil of which is Shayťān. And Allāh will dedicate an honourable angel to him who will protect him from the front, from behind, from the right side, from the left side, from over his head, and from under his feet. If he dies in that year, the angels of mercy will attend (the rituals of) his ablution and shrouding and they will seek forgiveness for him. They will also follow him in his funeral while seeking forgiveness for him. His grave will be widened as far as he can see and Allāh will keep him safe from the pressure of the grave and from being frightened by (angels) Munkar and Nakǐr. A door will also be opened from his grave to Paradise. On the Day of Judgment, his book (of deeds) will be placed in his right hand and he will shine with a light which illuminates everywhere from the east to the west. (On that day), a caller will call out, “This is a person who went to the Ziyārah of Ĥusain (a.s.) yearning for him.” Therefore, no one will remain on the Day of Judgment who will not wish he had gone to the Ziyārah of Ĥusain (a.s.).

4 وَ عَنْهُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ الْخَزَّازِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) مَا لِمَنْ أَتَى قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) قَالَ مَنْ أَتَاهُ شَوْقاً إِلَيْهِ كَانَ مِنْ عِبَادِ اللَّهِ الْمُكْرَمِينَ وَ كَانَ تَحْتَ لِوَاءِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ حَتَّى يُدْخِلَهُمَا اللَّهُ الْجَنَّةَ

4. Ĥasan ibn ‘Abdillāh narrated to me from his father, from Ĥasan ibn Maĥbūb, from Abǐ Ayyūb Ibrāhǐm ibn ‘Uthmān Al-Khazzāz, from Muĥammad ibn Muslim, who said: I asked Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)), “What is the reward for those who go to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.)?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Those who go to his Ziyārah yearning for him will be among Allāh’s (most) honourable slaves. (On the Day of Judgment) they will be under the flag of Ĥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.) until Allāh takes them to Paradise with Ĥusain (a.s.).”

5 وَ عَنْهُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْمِعْزَى عَنْ ذَرِيحٍ الْمُحَارِبِيِّ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) مَا أَلْقَى مِنْ قَوْمِي وَ مِنْ بَنِيَّ إِذَا أَنَا أَخْبَرْتُهُمْ بِمَا فِي إِتْيَانِ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) مِنَ الْخَيْرِ إِنَّهُمْ يُكَذِّبُونِّي وَ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّكَ تَكْذِبُ عَلَى جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ يَا ذَرِيحُ دَعِ النَّاسَ يَذْهَبُونَ حَيْثُ شَاءُوا وَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَيُبَاهِي بِزَائِرِ الْحُسَيْنِ وَ الْوَافِدُ يَفِدُهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ وَ حَمَلَةُ عَرْشِهِ حَتَّى إِنَّهُ لَيَقُولُ لَهُمْ- أَ مَا تَرَوْنَ زُوَّارَ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ أَتَوْهُ شَوْقاً إِلَيْهِ وَ إِلَى فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أَمَا وَ عِزَّتِي وَ جَلَالِي وَ عَظَمَتِي لَأُوجِبَنَّ لَهُمْ كَرَامَتِي وَ لَأُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ جَنَّتِيَ الَّتِي أَعْدَدْتُهَا لِأَوْلِيَائِي وَ لِأَنْبِيَائِي وَ رُسُلِي يَا مَلَائِكَتِي هَؤُلَاءِ زُوَّارُ الْحُسَيْنِ حَبِيبِ مُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولِي وَ مُحَمَّدٌ حَبِيبِي وَ مَنْ أَحَبَّنِي أَحَبَّ حَبِيبِي وَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ حَبِيبِي أَحَبَّ مَنْ يُحِبُّهُ وَ مَنْ أَبْغَضَ حَبِيبِي أَبْغَضَنِي وَ مَنْ أَبْغَضَنِي كَانَ حَقّاً عَلَيَّ أَنْ أُعَذِّبَهُ بِأَشَدِّ عَذَابِي وَ أُحْرِقَهُ بِحَرِّ نَارِي وَ أَجْعَلَ جَهَنَّمَ مَسْكَنَهُ وَ مَأْوَاهُ وَ أُعَذِّبُهُ عَذاباً لا أُعَذِّبُهُ أَحَداً مِنَ الْعالَمِينَ

5. Ĥasan ibn ‘Abdillāh narrated to me from his father, from Ĥasan ibn Maĥbūb, from Abil Maghrā, from Dharǐĥ Al-Muĥāribi, who said: I complained to Abǐ ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) about the way in which I suffer when I tell my kindred and my children about the reward for going to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.). (I complained) that they call me a liar, accusing me of forging lies against Ja’far ibn Muĥammad (a.s.). Imam (a.s.) replied: O Dharǐĥ! Let the people go wherever they want! I swear to Allāh that Allāh boasts about those who go to the Ziyārah of Ĥusain (a.s.) to the high-ranked angels and to the carriers of His Throne who welcome those who arrive (at the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.)). Verily, He says to them: Do you not see the Zuwwār of the grave of Ĥusain who have come to him yearning for him and for Fāťimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allāh?! I swear to My Glory, My Magnificence, and to My Greatness that I will ordain that they be honoured. I will take them to My Paradise, the Paradise which I have prepared for My friends, prophets, and messengers. O My angels! These are the Zuwwār of Ĥusain – the love of Muĥammad, My Messenger, and Muĥammad is My love. Those who love Me, love the one whom I love, and those who love the one whom I love, love the one loved by him (referring to Imam Ĥusain (a.s.)). Those who hate My love, hate Me. It is My right to torment those who hate Me with My most intense of chastisements, to burn them with the blazing flames of My fire, and to make Hell their abode and their final destination where I will torment them with such an intense chastisement with which I will not torment anyone else.
