1 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الرَّزَّازُ الْكُوفِيُّ عَنْ خَالِهِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ سَعْدَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبَانٍ الْكَلْبِيِّ عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ تَغْلِبَ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) أَرْبَعَةُ آلَافِ مَلَكٍ عِنْدَ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) شُعْثٌ غُبْرٌ يَبْكُونَهُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ رَئِيسُهُمْ مَلَكٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ مَنْصُورٌ وَ لَا يَزُورُهُ زَائِرٌ إِلَّا اسْتَقْبَلُوهُ وَ لَا يُوَدِّعُهُ مُوَدِّعٌ إِلَّا شَيَّعُوهُ وَ لَا يَمْرَضُ إِلَّا عَادُوهُ- وَ لَا يَمُوتُ إِلَّا صَلَّوْا عَلَيْهِ [وَ عَلَى جِنَازَتِهِ] وَ اسْتَغْفَرُوا لَهُ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهِ

1. Muĥammad ibn Ja’far Al-Razzāz Al-Kūfi narrated to me from his uncle Muĥammad ibn Ĥusain ibn Abil Khaťťāb, from Mūsā ibn Sa’dān, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Qāsim, from ‘Umar ibn Abān Al-Kalbi, from Abān ibn Taghlib, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: There are four thousand angels by the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) who are disheveled and covered with dust. They cry over him (and will continue to do so) until the Day of Judgment. Their chief is an angel named Manšūr. These angels receive everyone who comes to the Ziyārah of Ĥusain (a.s.) and they accompany them when they bid farewell to Ĥusain (a.s.). They visit them if they become ill and they establish prayers on them at their funerals when they die and seek forgiveness for them after their death.

2 وَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي وَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ وَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ وَكَّلَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى بِالْحُسَيْنِ (ع) سَبْعِينَ أَلْفَ مَلَكٍ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَيْهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ شُعْثاً غُبْراً وَ يَدْعُونَ لِمَنْ زَارَهُ وَ يَقُولُونَ يَا رَبِّ هَؤُلَاءِ زُوَّارُ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) افْعَلْ بِهِمْ وَ افْعَلْ بِهِمْ [كَذَا كَذَا]

2. My father, Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan, and ‘Ali ibn Ĥusain all narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from ‘Ali ibn Ĥakam, from ‘Ali ibn Abǐ Ĥamzah, from Abǐ Bašǐr, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: Allāh, the Blessed and the Exalted, has dedicated seventy thousand angels to Ĥusain (a.s.) who are disheveled and covered with dust who send blessings on him every day. They pray for those who come to his Ziyārah by saying, “O Lord! These are the visitors of Ĥusain (a.s.)! Do such-and-such for them and (reward them with) such-and-such.”

3 حَدَّثَنِي حَكِيمُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ حَسَّانَ [غَسَّانَ] الْبَصْرِيِّ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ وَهْبٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ لَا تَدَعْ زِيَارَةَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) أَ مَا تُحِبُّ أَنْ تَكُونَ فِيمَنْ تَدْعُو لَهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ

3. Ĥukaym ibn Dāwūd narrated to me from Salamah, from Mūsā ibn ‘Umar, from Ghassān Al-Bašri, from Mu’āwiyah ibn Wahab, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: Do not neglect going to the Ziyārah of Ĥusain (a.s.). Do you not like to be among those for whom the angels pray?!

4 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ وَكَّلَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى بِقَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) سَبْعِينَ أَلْفَ مَلَكٍ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَيْهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ شُعْثاً غُبْراً مِنْ يَوْمَ قُتِلَ إِلَى مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ يَعْنِي بِذَلِكَ قِيَامَ الْقَائِمِ (ع) وَ يَدْعُونَ لِمَنْ زَارَهُ وَ يَقُولُونَ يَا رَبِّ هَؤُلَاءِ زُوَّارُ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) افْعَلْ بِهِمْ وَ افْعَلْ بِهِمْ

4. Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan ibn Aĥmad ibn Walǐd narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan Al-Šaffār, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from ‘Ali ibn Ĥakam, from ‘Ali ibn Abǐ Ĥamzah, from Abǐ Bašǐr, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: Allāh, the Exalted, has dedicated seventy thousand angels to the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) who are disheveled and covered with dust who send blessings on him every day since the day he was killed (and will continue to do so) until a time that Allāh wills – referring to the rising of the Qā`im (Twelfth Imam (a.s.)). They pray for those who come to his Ziyārah by saying, “O Lord! These are the visitors of Ĥusain (a.s.)! Do this for them and do that for them.”

5 حَدَّثَنِي الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ سَعْدَانَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبَانٍ عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ تَغْلِبَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ كَأَنِّي بِالْقَائِمِ عَلَى نَجَفِ الْكُوفَةِ وَ قَدْ لَبِسَ دِرْعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ (ص) فَيَنْتَفِضُ هُوَ بِهَا فَتَسْتَدِيرُ عَلَيْهِ فَيُغَشِّيهَا بِحَدَاجَةٍ مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ وَ يَرْكَبُ فَرَساً أَدْهَمَ بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ شِمْرَاخٌ- فَيَنْتَفِضُ بِهِ انْتِفَاضَةً لَا يَبْقَى أَهْلُ بَلَدٍ إِلَّا وَ هُمْ يَرَوْنَ أَنَّهُ مَعَهُمْ فِي بِلَادِهِمْ فَيَنْتَشِرُ رَايَةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ (ص) عَمُودُهَا مِنْ عَمُودِ الْعَرْشِ وَ سَائِرُهَا مِنْ نَصْرِ اللَّهِ- لَا يَهْوَى بِهَا إِلَى شَيْءٍ أَبَداً إِلَّا هَتَكَهُ اللَّهُ فَإِذَا هَزَّهَا لَمْ يَبْقَ مُؤْمِنٌ إِلَّا صَارَ قَلْبُهُ كَزُبَرِ الْحَدِيدِ وَ يُعْطَى الْمُؤْمِنُ قُوَّةَ أَرْبَعِينَ رَجُلًا وَ لَا يَبْقَى مُؤْمِنٌ إِلَّا دَخَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ تِلْكَ الْفَرْحَةُ فِي قَبْرِهِ وَ ذَلِكَ حِينَ يَتَزَاوَرُونَ فِي قُبُورِهِمْ وَ يَتَبَاشَرُونَ بِقِيَامِ الْقَائِمِ فَيَسْخَطُ عَلَيْهِ ثَلَاثَةَ عَشَرَ أَلْفَ مَلَكٍ وَ ثَلَاثُمِائَةٍ وَ ثَلَاثَةَ عَشَرَ مَلَكاً قُلْتُ كُلُّ هَؤُلَاءِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ قَالَ نَعَمْ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا مَعَ نُوحٍ فِي السَّفِينَةِ وَ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا مَعَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حِينَ أُلْقِيَ فِي النَّارِ وَ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا مَعَ مُوسَى حِينَ فَلَقَ الْبَحْرَ لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ وَ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا مَعَ عِيسَى حِينَ رَفَعَهُ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ وَ أَرْبَعَةُ آلَافِ مَلَكٍ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ (ص) مُسَوِّمِينَ- وَ أَلْفٌ مُرْدِفِينَ وَ ثَلَاثُمِائَةٍ وَ ثَلَاثَ عَشَرَةَ مَلَائِكَةً بَدْرِيِّينِ وَ أَرْبَعَةُ آلَافِ مَلَكٍ هَبَطُوا- يُرِيدُونَ الْقِتَالَ مَعَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) فَلَمْ يُؤْذَنْ لَهُمْ فِي الْقِتَالِ فَهُمْ عِنْدَ قَبْرِهِ شُعْثٌ غُبْرٌ- يَبْكُونَهُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ وَ رَئِيسُهُمْ مَلَكٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ مَنْصُورٌ فَلَا يَزُورُهُ زَائِرٌ إِلَّا اسْتَقْبَلُوهُ- وَ لَا يُوَدِّعُهُ مُوَدِّعٌ إِلَّا شَيَّعُوهُ وَ لَا يَمْرَضُ مَرِيضٌ إِلَّا عَادُوهُ وَ لَا يَمُوتُ مَيِّتٌ إِلَّا صَلَّوْا عَلَى جِنَازَتِهِ وَ اسْتَغْفَرُوا لَهُ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهِ وَ كُلُّ هَؤُلَاءِ فِي الْأَرْضِ يَنْتَظِرُونَ قِيَامَ الْقَائِمِ (ع) إِلَى وَقْتِ خُرُوجِهِ عَلَيْهِ صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ وَ السَّلَامُ

Ĥusain ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Āmir narrated to me from Aĥmad ibn Isĥāq ibn Sa’d, from Sa’dān ibn Muslim, from ‘Umar ibn Abān, from Abān ibn Taghlib, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: It is as if I can see the Qā`im (a.s.) in Najaf (next to) Kūfah wearing the armour of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.). He will shake the armour (first) and then it will wrap itself around him, after which he will cover it with a robe made of brocade. He will be riding a pitch-black horse which has a raceme on its forehead. He will jump (with) the horse in such a way that people in every country will see him as if he is with them in their (own) country. Then he will unfold the flag of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.). The flag-pole is from the pillars of the Throne while the rest (of the flag) is from Allāh’s victory! If he points this flag to anything, Allāh will destroy it. When he shakes the flag, the heart of every believer will become like a strong piece of iron and each believer will be given the strength of forty men. Every believer who has died will feel the happiness (of the rising of the Qā`im (a.s.)) in his grave. They (the dead believers) will start visiting one another in their graves and will give glad tidings to one another about the rising of the Qā`im (a.s.). Then thirteen thousand three hundred and thirteen angels will join the Qā`im (a.s.). I (Abān ibn Taghlib) asked, “This many angels will join him?” Imam (a.s.) replied: Yes. (These are) the angels who were with Nūĥ in the ark, with Ibrāhǐm when he was cast in the fire, with Mūsā when he split the sea for the Banǐ Israel, and who were with ‘Isā when Allāh ascended him to Himself. (Among these angels are also) the four thousand “(fully equipped) distinguished angels” and the one thousand “angels [who came] in an unbroken succession” who were with the Prophet (s.a.a.w.), the three hundred and thirteen angels who fought in the Battle of Badr, and the four thousand angels who descended to fight along with Ĥusain (a.s.) but who were not permitted to (fight). They (these four thousand angels) remain by the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.), disheveled and covered with dust. They cry over him (and will continue to do so) until the Day of Judgment.
