1 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الرَّزَّازُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ حَنَانٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) زُورُوا الْحُسَيْنَ (ع) وَ لَا تَجْفُوهُ فَإِنَّهُ سَيِّدُ شَبَابِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ مِنَ الْخَلْقِ وَ سَيِّدُ الشُّهَدَاءِ

1. Muĥammad ibn Ja’far Al-Razzāz narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Ĥusain, from Muĥammad ibn Ismā’ǐl, from Ĥanān who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: Go to the Ziyārah of Ĥusain (a.s.) and do not be disinclined to it. Verily he is the Master of the Youth of Paradise from among the creation and he is the Master of the Martyrs.

2 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي (رحمه الله) عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ مَعْرُوفٍ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) بِالْمَدِينَةِ أَيْنَ قُبُورُ الشُّهَدَاءِ فَقَالَ أَ لَيْسَ أَفْضَلُ الشُّهَدَاءِ عِنْدَكُمْ وَ الَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنَّ حَوْلَهُ أَرْبَعَةَ آلَافِ مَلَكٍ شُعْثاً غُبْراً يَبْكُونَهُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ

2. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from ‘Abbās ibn Ma’rūf, from Ĥammād ibn ‘Isā, from Rib’i ibn ‘Abdillāh, who said: I asked Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) in Madǐnah, “Where are the graves of the martyrs (of Uĥud)?” Imam (a.s.) replied: Is not the best of the martyrs – referring to Ĥusain (a.s.) – (buried) near you?! I swear to He who has my life in His Hand that there are four thousand angels around the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) who are disheveled, covered with dust, and who cry over him (and will continue to do so) until the Day of Judgment.

3 حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ الرَّزَّازُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ أَبِي دَاوُدَ الْمُسْتَرِقِّ عَنْ أُمِّ سَعِيدٍ الْأَحْمَسِيَّةِ قَالَتْ كُنْتُ عِنْدَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) وَ قَدْ بَعَثْتُ مَنْ يَكْتَرِي لِي حِمَاراً إِلَى قُبُورِ الشُّهَدَاءِ فَقَالَ مَا يَمْنَعُكِ مِنْ زِيَارَةِ سَيِّدِ الشُّهَدَاءِ قَالَتْ قُلْتُ وَ مَنْ هُوَ قَالَ الْحُسَيْنُ (ع) قَالَتْ قُلْتُ وَ مَا لِمَنْ زَارَهُ قَالَ حِجَّةٌ وَ عُمْرَةٌ مَبْرُورَةٌ وَ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ كَذَا وَ كَذَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ بِيَدِهِ

3. Abul ‘Abbās Al-Razzāz narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Ĥusain ibn Abil Khaťťāb, from Abǐ Dāwūd Al-Mustariq, from Um Sa’ǐd Al-Aĥmasiyyah, who said: I was with Abǐ ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) and I had sent someone to rent a donkey for me so that I could go to the graves of the martyrs (of Uĥud). Imam (a.s.) asked me, “What prevents you from going to the Ziyārah of the Master of the Martyrs?” I asked, “Who is he?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Ĥusain (a.s.).” I asked, “What is the reward for going to his Ziyārah?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “One purified Hajj and ‘Umrah as well as this much reward.” Um Sa’ǐd added that the Imam (a.s.) extended his arms out and then closed them three times (to explain ‘this much reward’).

4 وَ عَنْهُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ مِسْكِينٍ عَنْ أُمِّ سَعِيدٍ الْأَحْمَسِيَّةِ قَالَتْ جِئْتُ إِلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَجَاءَتِ الْجَارِيَةُ فَقَالَتْ قَدْ جِئْتُ بِالدَّابَّةِ فَقَالَ لِي يَا أُمَّ سَعِيدٍ أَيُّ شَيْءٍ هَذِهِ الدَّابَّةُ- أَيْنَ تَبْغِينَ تَذْهَبِينَ قَالَتْ قُلْتُ أَزُورُ قُبُورَ الشُّهَدَاءِ قَالَ أُخْرَى ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ مَا أَعْجَبَكُمْ يَا أَهْلَ الْعِرَاقِ تَأْتُونَ الشُّهَدَاءَ مِنْ سَفَرٍ بَعِيدٍ وَ تَتْرُكُونَ سَيِّدَ الشُّهَدَاءِ لَا تَأْتُونَهُ قَالَتْ قُلْتُ لَهُ مَنْ سَيِّدُ الشُّهَدَاءِ فَقَالَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ (ع) قَالَتْ قُلْتُ إِنِّي امْرَأَةٌ- فَقَالَ لَا بَأْسَ لِمَنْ كَانَ مِثْلَكِ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ إِلَيْهِ وَ يَزُورَهُ قَالَتْ أَيُّ شَيْءٍ لَنَا فِي زِيَارَتِهِ- قَالَ تَعْدِلُ حِجَّةً وَ عُمْرَةً وَ اعْتِكَافَ شَهْرَيْنِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ وَ صِيَامَهَا وَ خَيْرُهَا كَذَا وَ كَذَا قَالَتْ وَ بَسَطَ يَدَهُ وَ ضَمَّهَا ضَمّاً ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ

4. Abul ‘Abbās Al-Razzāz narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Ĥusain, from Ĥakam ibn Miskǐn, from Um Sa’ǐd Al-Aĥmasiyyah, who said: I went to Abǐ ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)). While I was with him, (my) bondmaid came to me and said, “I brought the sumpter for you.” Imam (a.s.) asked me, “O Um Sa’ǐd! What is the sumpter for and where do you intend to go?” I replied, “I want to go to the Ziyārah of the graves of the martyrs (of Uĥud).” Imam (a.s.) said, “Postpone it for today. How strange are you people of Iraq?! You come to the Ziyārah of the martyrs (of Uĥud) from a long distance but you neglect going to the Ziyārah of the Master of the Martyrs!” I asked, “Who is the Master of the Martyrs?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Ĥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.).” I said, “(I do not go to his Ziyārah because) I am a woman.” Imam (a.s.) replied, “There is nothing wrong with women like you going to his Ziyārah.” I asked, “What is the reward for going to his Ziyārah?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “The reward of one Hajj and one ‘Umrah, I’TIKĀF for two months in Masjid Al-Ĥarām while fasting, and this much reward.” Um Sa’ǐd added that the Imam (a.s.) extended his arms out and then closed them three times (to explain ‘this much reward’).

5 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي وَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ وَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ رَحِمَهُمُ اللَّهُ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ رِزْقٍ الْغُمْشَانِيِّ عَنْ أُمِّ سَعِيدٍ الْأَحْمَسِيَّةِ قَالَتْ دَخَلْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ فَاكْتَرَيْتُ حِمَاراً عَلَى أَنْ أَطُوفَ عَلَى قُبُورِ الشُّهَدَاءِ فَقُلْتُ لَا بُدَّ أَبْدَأُ بِابْنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ (ص) فَأَدْخُلُ عَلَيْهِ فَأَبْطَأْتُ عَلَى الْمُكَارِي قَلِيلًا فَهَتَفَ بِي- فَقَالَ لِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) مَا هَذَا يَا أُمَّ سَعِيدٍ قُلْتُ لَهُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ تَكَارَيْتُ حِمَاراً لِأَدُورَ عَلَى قُبُورِ الشُّهَدَاءِ قَالَ أَ فَلَا أُخْبِرُكَ بِسَيِّدِ الشُّهَدَاءِ قُلْتُ بَلَى قَالَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ (ع) قُلْتُ وَ إِنَّهُ لَسَيِّدُ الشُّهَدَاءِ قَالَ نَعَمْ قُلْتُ فَمَا لِمَنْ زَارَهُ قَالَ حِجَّةٌ وَ عُمْرَةٌ وَ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ هَكَذَا وَ هَكَذَا

5. My father, ‘Ali ibn Ĥusain, and Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan all narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Ĥasan ibn ‘Ali ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Mughǐrah, from ‘Abbās ibn ‘Āmir, from Aĥmad ibn Rizq Al-Ghamshāni (Al-Bajali), from Um Sa’ǐd Al-Aĥmasiyyah, who said: I entered Madǐnah and I rented a donkey (and a guide) to go to the Ziyārah of the graves of the martyrs (of Uĥud). However, I thought that I should start by visiting the son of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)). So I went and saw the Imam (a.s.), and I delayed the guide a little. The guide raised his voice (to make me hurry). (When the Imam (a.s.) heard him) he asked me, “What is this about, O Um Sa’ǐd?” I replied, “May I sacrifice myself for you! I have rented a donkey to go to the Ziyārah of the graves of the martyrs (of Uĥud).” Imam (a.s.) asked, “Should I not tell you about the Master of the Martyrs?” I replied, “Yes.” Imam (a.s.) said, “(It is) Ĥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.).” I asked, “Is he truly the Master of the Martyrs?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Yes.” I asked, “What is the reward for those who go to his Ziyārah?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “The reward of Hajj and ‘Umrah and this much reward.”

6 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي وَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ الْحِمْيَرِيُّ جَمِيعاً عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ الْحِمْيَرِيِّ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَرْقِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ الْحَارِثِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أُمِّ سَعِيدٍ الْأَحْمَسِيَّةِ قَالَتْ دَخَلْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ فَاكْتَرَيْتُ الْبَغْلَ أَوِ الْبَغْلَةَ لِأَزُورَ عَلَيْهِ قُبُورَ الشُّهَدَاءِ قَالَتْ قُلْتُ مَا أَحَدٌ أَحَقَّ أَنْ أَبْدَأَ بِهِ مِنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ (ع) قَالَتْ فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَأَبْطَأْتُ فَصَاحَ بِيَ الْمُكَارِي حَبَسْتِينَا عَافَاكِ اللَّهُ فَقَالَ لِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ كَأَنَّ إِنْسَاناً يَسْتَعْجِلُكِ يَا أُمَّ سَعِيدٍ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ إِنِّي اكْتَرَيْتُ بَغْلًا لِأَزُورَ عَلَيْهِ قُبُورَ الشُّهَدَاءِ فَقُلْتُ مَا آتِي أَحَداً أَحَقَّ مِنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ (ع) قَالَتْ فَقَالَ يَا أُمَّ سَعِيدٍ فَمَا يَمْنَعُكِ مِنْ أَنْ تَأْتِي قَبْرَ سَيِّدِ الشُّهَدَاءِ قَالَتْ فَطَمِعْتُ أَنْ يَدُلَّنِي عَلَى قَبْرِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ (ع) فَقُلْتُ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَ أُمِّي وَ مَنْ سَيِّدُ الشُّهَدَاءِ- قَالَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ فَاطِمَةَ (ع) يَا أُمَّ سَعِيدٍ مَنْ أَتَاهُ بِبَصِيرَةٍ وَ رَغْبَةٍ فِيهِ كَانَ لَهُ حِجَّةً [حِجَّةً مَبْرُورَةً وَ عُمْرَةً مُتَقَبَّلَةً]- وَ عُمْرَةً مَبْرُورَةً وَ كَانَ لَهُ مِنَ الْفَضْلِ هَكَذَا وَ هَكَذَا

My father and Muĥammad ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Ja’far Al-Ĥimyari both narrated to me from ‘Abdillāh ibn Ja’far Al-Ĥimyari, from Aĥmad ibn Abǐ ‘Abdillāh Al-Barqi, from his father, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Qāsim Al-Ĥārithi, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Sinān, from Um Sa’ǐd Al-Aĥmasiyyah, who said: I entered Madǐnah and I rented a mule (and a guide) to go to the Ziyārah of the graves of the martyrs (of Uĥud). However, I thought to myself that no one is more worthy of being visited first than Ja’far ibn Muĥammad (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)). Therefore, I went and saw the Imam (a.s.) and I delayed (the guide a little). The guide raised his voice and said, “May Allāh keep you well! You are delaying me!” (When the Imam (a.s.) heard him) he said to me, “O Um Sa’ǐd! It looks like someone (is waiting for you and) wants you to hurry.” I replied, “May I sacrifice myself for you! I have rented a mule to go to the Ziyārah of the graves of the martyrs (of Uĥud) but I thought to myself that no one is more worthy of being visited first than Ja’far ibn Muĥammad (a.s.).” Imam (a.s.) asked, “O Um Sa’ǐd! What prevents you from going to the Ziyārah of the Master of the Martyrs?” (When the Imam (a.s.) said this), I hoped that he would reveal the location of the grave of ‘Ali ibn Abǐ Ťālib (a.s.) for me so I asked, “May I sacrifice my father and mother for you! Who is the Master of the Martyrs?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Ĥusain, son of Fāťimah (a.s.). O Um Sa’ǐd! Whoever goes to him longing for him and with insight (of his status) will earn the reward of a purified Hajj and ‘Umrah and he will have this much reward.”

7 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الرَّزَّازُ عَنْ خَالِهِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَمَّنْ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ وَ أَبِي الْمَعْزَاءِ وَ عَاصِمِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ الْحَنَّاطِ جَمَاعَتِهِمْ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ مَا مِنْ شَهِيدٍ إِلَّا [إِلَّا وَ هُوَ يُحِبُّ لَوْ أَنَّ الْحُسَيْنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ حَيٌّ] وَ يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَكُونَ مَعَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) حَتَّى يَدْخُلُونَ [يَدْخُلُو الْجَنَّةَ مَعَهُ

7. Muĥammad ibn Ja’far Al-Razzāz narrated to me from his uncle Muĥammad ibn Ĥusain ibn Abil Khaťťāb, from Muĥammad ibn Ismā’ǐl, from someone who narrated to him, from ‘Ali ibn Abǐ Ĥamzah, from Ĥusain ibn Abil ‘Alā, Abil Maghrā, and ‘Āšim ibn Ĥumayd Al-Ĥannāť, from Abǐ Bašǐr, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: All of the martyrs wish to be with Ĥusain (a.s.) so that they can enter Paradise with him.
