1 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي (رحمه الله) وَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ وَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ رَحِمَهُمُ اللَّهُ جَمِيعاً عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جَنَاحٍ عَنْ أَبِي يَحْيَى الْحَذَّاءِ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ نَظَرَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ (ع) إِلَى الْحُسَيْنِ فَقَالَ يَا عَبْرَةَ كُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ فَقَالَ أَنَا يَا أَبَتَاهْ قَالَ نَعَمْ يَا بُنَيَّ

1. My father, ‘Ali ibn Ĥusain, and Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan all narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Sa’ǐd ibn Janāĥ (Al-Azdi), from Abǐ Yaĥyā Al-Ĥadhā, from some of our companions, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: The Commander of the Believers (a.s.) looked at Ĥusain (a.s.) and said, “O ‘ABRAH (tear) of every believer!” Ĥusain (a.s.) asked, “O father! Are you referring to me?” The Commander of the Believers (a.s.) replied, “Yes! O my son!”

2 حَدَّثَنِي جَمَاعَةُ مَشَايِخِي عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى الْعَطَّارِ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ أَبِي عُمَارَةَ الْمُنْشِدِ قَالَ مَا ذُكِرَ الْحُسَيْنُ (ع) عِنْدَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) فِي يَوْمٍ قَطُّ فَرُئِيَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) مُتَبَسِّماً فِي ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ إِلَى اللَّيْلِ وَ كَانَ (ع) يَقُولُ الْحُسَيْنُ (ع) عَبْرَةُ كُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ

2. All of my scholars narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Yaĥyā Al-‘Aťťār, from Ĥusain ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Ĥasan ibn ‘Ali ibn Abǐ ‘Uthmān, from Ĥasan ibn ‘Ali ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Mughǐrah, from Abǐ ‘Umārah Al-Munshid, who said: Whenever Ĥusain (a.s.) was mentioned in front of Abǐ ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) during the day, he would not be seen smiling until nightfall. Imam (a.s.) used to say, “Ĥusain (a.s.) is the tear of every believer!”

3 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مُوسَى الْخَشَّابِ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ (ع) أَنَا قَتِيلُ الْعَبْرَةِ لَا يَذْكُرُنِي مُؤْمِنٌ إِلَّا اسْتَعْبَرَ

3. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Ĥasan ibn Mūsā Al-Khashāb, from Ismā’ǐl ibn Mihrān, from ‘Ali ibn Abǐ Ĥamzah, from Abǐ Bašǐr, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: Ĥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.) said, “I am the Martyr of Tears. No believer remembers me without crying.”

4 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي (رحمه الله) عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مُوسَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ قَالَ الْحُسَيْنُ (ع) أَنَا قَتِيلُ الْعَبْرَةِ

4. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Ĥasan ibn Mūsā, from Muĥammad ibn Sinān, from Ismā’ǐl ibn Jābir, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: Ĥusain (a.s.) said, “I am the Martyr of Tears.”

5 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الرَّزَّازُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ مِسْكِينٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ قَالَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ أَنَا قَتِيلُ الْعَبْرَةِ

5. Muĥammad ibn Ja’far Al-Razzāz narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Ĥusain, from Ĥakam ibn Miskǐn, from Abǐ Bašǐr, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: Ĥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.) said, “I am the Martyr of Tears.”

6 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْبَرْقِيِّ عَنْ أَبَانٍ الْأَحْمَرِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ الْخَزَّازِ عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ خَارِجَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ كُنَّا عِنْدَهُ فَذَكَرْنَا الْحُسَيْنَ ع وَ عَلَى قَاتِلِهِ لَعْنَةُ اللَّهِ فَبَكَى أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) وَ بَكَيْنَا قَالَ ثُمَّ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ قَالَ الْحُسَيْنُ (ع) أَنَا قَتِيلُ الْعَبْرَةِ لَا يَذْكُرُنِي مُؤْمِنٌ إِلَّا بَكَى وَ ذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ

6. Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan Al-Šaffār, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Muĥammad ibn Khālid Al-Barqi, from Abān Al-Aĥmar, from Muĥammad ibn Ĥusain Al-Khazzāz, from Hārūn ibn Khārijah, who said: We were with Abǐ ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) and we mentioned Ĥusain (a.s.) – May Allāh’s curse be upon his killers. Abū ‘Abdillāh (a.s.) started to cry and we cried with him. Then he raised his head and said, “Ĥusain (a.s.) said, ‘I am the Martyr of Tears. No believer remembers me without crying.”

7 حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ السَّعْدَآبَادِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَرْقِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ مُسْكَانَ عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ خَارِجَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ قَالَ الْحُسَيْنُ (ع) أَنَا قَتِيلُ الْعَبْرَةِ قُتِلْتُ مَكْرُوباً وَ حَقِيقٌ عَلَيَّ أَنْ لَا يَأْتِيَنِي مَكْرُوبٌ قَطُّ إِلَّا رَدَّهُ اللَّهُ وَ أَقْلَبَهُ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ مَسْرُوراً حَدَّثَنِي حَكِيمُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ خَارِجَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) مِثْلَهُ

7. ‘Ali ibn Ĥusain Al-Sa’dābādi narrated to me from Aĥmad ibn Abǐ ‘Abdillāh Al-Barqi, from his father, from Ibn Muskān, from Hārūn ibn Khārjah, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: Ĥusain (a.s.) said, “I am the Martyr of Tears. I will be killed while I am in anguish. Verily anyone who comes to me (my Ziyārah) while he is in anguish is worthy of being returned to his family by Allāh with his heart pleased.” The above Ĥadǐth has also been narrated to me through the following chain: Ĥukaim ibn Dāwūd, from Salamah ibn Khaťťāb, from Muĥammad ibn ‘Amr, from Hārūn ibn Khārijah, from Abǐ ‘Abdillāh (a.s.).
