1 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْقُرَشِيُّ الرَّزَّازُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ سَعْدَانَ الْحَنَّاطِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قَاسِمِ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ سَهْلٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ- وَ قَضَيْنا إِلى بَنِي إِسْرائِيلَ فِي الْكِتابِ- لَتُفْسِدُنَّ فِي الْأَرْضِ مَرَّتَيْنِ قَالَ قَتْلُ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ (ع) وَ طَعْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ع وَ لَتَعْلُنَّ عُلُوًّا كَبِيراً قَتْلُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ع فَإِذا جاءَ وَعْدُ أُولاهُما قَالَ إِذَا جَاءَ نَصْرُ الْحُسَيْنِ ع بَعَثْنا عَلَيْكُمْ عِباداً لَنا أُولِي بَأْسٍ شَدِيدٍ فَجاسُوا خِلالَ الدِّيارِ قَوْماً يَبْعَثُهُمْ اللَّهُ قَبْلَ قِيَامِ الْقَائِمِ (ع) لَا يَدَعُونَ وَتْراً لِآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ إِلَّا أَحْرَقُوهُ- وَ كانَ وَعْداً مَفْعُولًا

1. Muĥammad ibn Ja’far Al-Qurashi Al-Razzāz narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Ĥusain ibn Abil Khaťťāb, from Mūsā ibn Sa’dān Al-Ĥannāť, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Qāsim Al-Ĥaďrami, from Šāliĥ ibn Sahl, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: “We announced to the children of Israel in the book: ‘You will certainly make mischief in the land twice” (17:4). The first “mischief ” refers to killing the Commander of the Believers (a.s.) and the second “mischief” refers to stabbing Ĥasan ibn ‘Ali (a.s.). “And you will certainly become exceedingly arrogant” (17:4) refers to killing Ĥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.). “So, when the promise of the nearest to the two came” (17:5) refers to (the time) when the avenger of the blood of Ĥusain (a.s.) will come. “We sent over you Our servants who possessed terrible prowess; so they invaded the very inmost parts of your houses” (17:5) refers to a group of people who will rise before the time of the Qā`im (a.s.) and who will kill anyone who has participated in spilling the blood of the members of the family of Muĥammad (s.a.a.w.). “And it was a warning (completely) fulfilled” (17:5).

2 وَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي (رحمه الله) عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (ع) قَالَ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ إِنّا لَنَنْصُرُ رُسُلَنا وَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا فِي الْحَياةِ الدُّنْيا وَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْأَشْهادُ قَالَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ مِنْهُمْ وَ لَمْ يُنْصَرْ بَعْدُ ثُمَّ قَالَ وَ اللَّهِ لَقَدْ قُتِلَ قَتَلَةُ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) وَ لَمْ يُطْلَبْ بِدَمِهِ بَعْدُ

2. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Muĥammad ibn Sinān, from ‘Ali ibn Abǐ Ĥamzah, from Abǐ Bašǐr, who said: Abū Ja’far (Imam Bāqir (a.s.)) recited the verse, “Verily, We help Our messengers, and those who believe, in this world and on the day the witnesses shall stand forth” (40:51). Then Imam (a.s.) said, “Ĥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.) is among those described in this verse who has yet to be helped!! I swear to Allāh that the killers of Ĥusain (a.s.) were killed but his blood has not been avenged yet.”

3 وَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي (رحمه الله) عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ وَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ هَاشِمٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ رِجَالِهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ إِذَا الْمَوْؤُدَةُ سُئِلَتْ. بِأَيِّ ذَنْبٍ قُتِلَتْ قَالَ نَزَلَتْ فِي الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ع

3. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Ya’qūb ibn Yazǐd, and from Ibrāhǐm ibn Hāshim, from Muĥammad ibn Abǐ ‘Umayr, from some of his scholars, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) explained the verse, “When the girl buried alive is asked for what sin she was put to death” (81:8-9) by saying, “This verse was revealed about Ĥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.).”

4 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي (رحمه الله) عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ مَعْرُوفٍ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ حَكَمٍ الْحَنَّاطِ عَنْ ضُرَيْسٍ عَنْ أَبِي خَالِدٍ الْكَابُلِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (ع) قَالَ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ أُذِنَ لِلَّذِينَ يُقاتَلُونَ بِأَنَّهُمْ ظُلِمُوا وَ إِنَّ اللّهَ عَلى نَصْرِهِمْ لَقَدِيرٌ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ وَ الْحَسَنُ وَ الْحُسَيْنُ ع

4. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from ‘Abbās ibn Ma’rūf, from Šafwān ibn Yaĥyā, from Ĥakam Al-Ĥannāť, from Ďurays, from Abǐ Khālid Al-Kābuli, who said: I heard Abā Ja’far (Imam Bāqir (a.s.)) explain the verse, “Permission (to fight) is given to those against whom war is made, because they have been oppressed, and verily Allāh is potent to help them” (22:39). (The Imam (a.s.) said), “This verse was revealed about ‘Ali, Ĥasan, and Ĥusain (a.s.).”

5 وَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارِ عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ مَعْرُوفٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) فِي قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى- وَ مَنْ قُتِلَ مَظْلُوماً فَقَدْ جَعَلْنا لِوَلِيِّهِ سُلْطاناً فَلا يُسْرِفْ فِي الْقَتْلِ إِنَّهُ كانَ مَنْصُوراً قَالَ ذَلِكَ قَائِمُ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ يَخْرُجُ فَيَقْتُلُ بِدَمِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) فَلَوْ قَتَلَ أَهْلَ الْأَرْضِ لَمْ يَكُنْ مُسْرِفاً وَ قَوْلُهُ فَلا يُسْرِفْ فِي الْقَتْلِ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيَصْنَعَ شَيْئاً يَكُونُ سَرَفاً ثُمَّ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) يَقْتُلُ وَ اللَّهِ ذَرَارِيَّ قَتَلَةِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) بِفَعَالِ آبَائِهَا

5. Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan ibn Aĥmad narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan Al-Šaffār, from ‘Abbās ibn Ma’rūf, from Muĥammad ibn Sinān, from someone who said: I asked Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)), about the verse, “And whosoever is killed unjustly, then We have indeed given his heir an authority, but let him not exceed the limits in killing, verily he is helped” (17:33). Imam (a.s.) replied: This is about the Qā`im of the family of Muĥammad (s.a.a.w.). When he rises, he will kill (many people), avenging the blood of Ĥusain (a.s.). Even if he kills everyone on earth, he will not have exceeded the limits in killing. “But let him not exceed the limits in killing” (17:33) means that he will not act unconscionably. I swear to Allāh that he will kill the descendants of the killers of Ĥusain (a.s.) for the deeds of their fathers.

6 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الرَّزَّازُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ سَمَاعَةَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) فِي قَوْلِهِ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى فَلا عُدْوانَ إِلّا عَلَى الظّالِمِينَ قَالَ أَوْلَادُ قَتَلَةِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي (رحمه الله) عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ هَاشِمٍ وَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ سَمَاعَةَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ مِثْلَهُ

6. Muĥammad ibn Ja’far Al-Razzāz narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Ĥusain, from ‘Uthmān ibn ‘Isā, from Samā’ah ibn Mihrān, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said, “The verse, ‘There should be no hostility except against the oppressors’ (2:193) refers to the children of the killers of Ĥusain (a.s.).” The above Ĥadǐth has also been narrated to me through the following chain: My father, from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Ibrāhǐm ibn Hāshim, and from Muĥammad ibn Ĥusain, from ‘Uthmān ibn ‘Isā, from Samā’ah ibn Mihrān, from Abǐ ‘Abdillāh (a.s.).
