1 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي (رحمه الله) تَعَالَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي خَلَفٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ خَارِجَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ إِنَّ جَبْرَئِيلَ (ع) أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ (ص) وَ الْحُسَيْنُ (ع) يَلْعَبُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَأَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ أُمَّتَهُ سَتَقْتُلُهُ قَالَ فَجَزِعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ (ص) فَقَالَ أَ لَا أُرِيكَ التُّرْبَةَ الَّتِي يُقْتَلُ فِيهَا قَالَ فَخَسَفَ مَا بَيْنَ مَجْلِسِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ (ص) إِلَى الْمَكَانِ الَّذِي قُتِلَ فِيهِ الْحُسَيْنُ (ع) حَتَّى الْتَقَتَا الْقِطْعَتَانِ فَأَخَذَ مِنْهَا وَ دُحِيَتْ فِي أَسْرَعَ مِنْ طَرْفَةِ عَيْنٍ فَخَرَجَ وَ هُوَ يَقُولُ طُوبَى لَكِ مِنْ تُرْبَةٍ وَ طُوبَى لِمَنْ يُقْتَلُ حَوْلَكِ قَالَ وَ كَذَلِكَ صَنَعَ صَاحِبُ سُلَيْمَانَ تَكَلَّمَ بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ الْأَعْظَمِ فَخُسِفَ مَا بَيْنَ سَرِيرِ سُلَيْمَانَ وَ بَيْنَ الْعَرْشِ مِنْ سُهُولَةِ الْأَرْضِ وَ حُزُونَتِهَا- حَتَّى الْتَقَتِ الْقِطْعَتَانِ فاجْتَرَّ الْعَرْشَ قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ يُخَيَّلَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ مِنْ تَحْتِ سَرِيرِي- قَالَ وَ دُحِيَتْ فِي أَسْرَعَ مِنْ طَرْفَةِ الْعَيْنِ

1. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Abǐ Khalaf, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Ĥusain ibn Sa’ǐd, from Naďr ibn Suwayd, from Yaĥyā Al-Ĥalabi, from Hārūn ibn Khārijah, from Abǐ Bašǐr, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: (One day) Jabra`ǐl came to the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) while Ĥusain (a.s.) was playing in front of him. Jabra`ǐl informed him that his nation would kill Ĥusain (a.s.), so the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) became restless. Jabra`ǐl said, “Should I not show you the land on which he will be killed?” Then the land (between Karbalā and Madǐnah) sunk within the ground and the place where the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) was sitting (in Madǐnah) and the land on which Ĥusain (a.s.) was killed became attached to one another. Then Jabra`ǐl took some of the dust (of Karbalā). Thereafter, the earth returned to the way it (originally) was in less than a blink of an eye. The Prophet (s.a.a.w.) left while saying, “Bliss for you, O dust! And bliss for those who will be killed 0n you!” Imam (a.s.) continued: The companion of Sulaymān (a.s.) (Āšaf ibn Barkhiyā) also did the same thing. He mentioned the Great Name of Allāh and the earth between Sulaymān’s bed and the throne (of Bilqǐs) sank within the ground. The earth and all of its flexible and inflexible parts sank within the ground, and Āšif lifted the throne (of Bilqǐs) before the two pieces of land were attached. So Sulaymān (a.s.) said, “It looks like it (the throne of Bilqǐs) came out from under my bed.” Imam (a.s.) added: Thereafter, the earth returned to the way it (originally) was in less than a blink of an eye.

2 وَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي (رحمه الله) عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ الْعَطَّارِ عَنْ أَبِي جَمِيلَةَ الْمُفَضَّلِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ زَيْدٍ الشَّحَّامِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ نَعَى جَبْرَئِيلُ (ع) الْحُسَيْنَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ (ص) فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ الْحُسَيْنُ (ع) وَ جَبْرَئِيلُ عِنْدَهُ فَقَالَ إِنَّ هَذَا تَقْتُلُهُ أُمَّتُكَ- فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ (ص) أَرِنِي مِنَ التُّرْبَةِ الَّتِي يُسْفَكُ فِيهَا دَمُهُ فَتَنَاوَلَ جَبْرَئِيلُ (ع) قَبْضَةً مِنْ تِلْكَ التُّرْبَةِ فَإِذَا هِيَ تُرْبَةٌ حَمْرَاءُ

2. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Muĥammad ibn ‘Abdil Ĥamǐd Al-‘Aťťār, from Abǐ Jamǐlah Mufaďďal ibn Šāliĥ, from Abǐ Usāmah Zayd Al-Shaĥĥām, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: Jabra`ǐl announced the news of the killing of Ĥusain (a.s.) to the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) in the house of Um Salamah. While Jabra`ǐl was with the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.), Ĥusain (a.s.) entered. Jabra`ǐl said to the Prophet (s.a.a.w.), “Verily your nation will kill him.” The Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) said, “Show me the dust on which his blood will be shed.” Jabra`ǐl took a handful of that dust and it was a red-coloured dust.

3 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي (رحمه الله) تَعَالَى عَنْ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عِيسَى وَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْخَطَّابِ وَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ هَاشِمٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ سَمَاعَةَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) مِثْلَهُ وَ زَادَ فِيهِ فَلَمْ تَزَلْ عِنْدَ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ حَتَّى مَاتَتْ رَحِمَهَا اللَّهُ

3. My father narrated to me from Sa’d (ibn ‘Abdillāh), from ‘Ali ibn Ismā’ǐl ibn ‘Isā, Muĥammad ibn Ĥusain ibn Abil Khaťťāb, and Ibrāhǐm ibn Hāshim, from ‘Uthmān ibn ‘Isā, from Samā’ah ibn Mihrān, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: Jabra`ǐl announced the news of the killing of Ĥusain (a.s.) to the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) in the house of Um Salamah. While Jabra`ǐl was with the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.), Ĥusain (a.s.) entered. 4 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي (رحمه الله) عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ الْخَزَّازِ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَعْيَنَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) يَقُولُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ (ص) كَانَ فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ وَ عِنْدَهُ جَبْرَئِيلُ (ع) فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ الْحُسَيْنُ (ع) فَقَالَ لَهُ جَبْرَئِيلُ إِنَّ أُمَّتَكَ تَقْتُلُ ابْنَكَ هَذَا أَ لَا أُرِيكَ مِنْ تُرْبَةِ الْأَرْضِ الَّتِي يُقْتَلُ فِيهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ (ص) نَعَمْ فَأَهْوَى جَبْرَئِيلُ (ع) بِيَدِهِ وَ قَبَضَ قَبْضَةً مِنْهَا فَأَرَاهَا النَّبِيَّ ص

4. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Muĥammad ibn Walǐd Al-Khazzāz, from Ĥammād ibn ‘Uthmān, from ‘Abdil Malik ibn A’yan, who said: I heard Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) say: (One day) when Jabra`ǐl was with the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) in the house of Um Salamah, Ĥusain (a.s.) entered. Jabra`ǐl said, “Verily your nation will kill this son of yours. Should I not show you the dust of the land on which he will be killed?” The Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) replied, “Yes.” Therefore, Jabra`ǐl extended his hand (to the land on which Ĥusain (a.s.) would be killed), took a handful of that dust, and then showed it to the Prophet (s.a.a.w.)

5 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْقُرَشِيُّ الرَّزَّازُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ خَارِجَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ بَيْنَمَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ (ع) عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ (ص) إِذْ أَتَاهُ جَبْرَئِيلُ (ع) فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ أَ تُحِبُّهُ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ أَمَا إِنَّ أُمَّتَكَ سَتَقْتُلُهُ قَالَ فَحَزِنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ (ص) حُزْناً شَدِيداً فَقَالَ لَهُ جَبْرَئِيلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَ تُرِيدُ [أَ يَسُرُّكَ] أَنْ أُرِيَكَ التُّرْبَةَ الَّتِي يُقْتَلُ فِيهَا فَقَالَ نَعَمْ فَخَسَفَ مَا بَيْنَ مَجْلِسِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ (ص) إِلَى كَرْبَلَاءَ حَتَّى الْتَقَتَا الْقِطْعَتَانِ هَكَذَا ثُمَّ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ السَّبَّابَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ تَنَاوَلَ بِجَنَاحِهِ مِنَ التُّرْبَةِ وَ نَاوَلَهَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ (ص) ثُمَّ رَجَعَتْ أَسْرَعَ مِنْ طَرْفَةِ عَيْنٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ (ص) طُوبَى لَكِ مِنْ تُرْبَةٍ وَ طُوبَى لِمَنْ يُقْتَلُ فِيكِ

5. Muĥammad ibn Ja’far Al-Qurashi Al-Razzāz narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Ĥusain, from Muĥammad ibn Sinān, from Hārūn ibn Khārijah, from Abǐ Bašǐr, who said: I heard Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) say: (One day) while Ĥusain ibn ’Ali (a.s.) was with the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.), Jabra`ǐl came to him and asked, “O Muĥammad! Do you love him?” “Yes,” the Prophet (s.a.a.w.) replied. “Verily your nation will kill him,” Jabra`ǐl said. So the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) was extremely grieved. Jabra`ǐl asked, “O Messenger of Allāh! Would you like me to show you the land on which he will be killed?” “Yes,” the Prophet (s.a.a.w.) replied. Then the land (between Karbalā and Madǐnah) sunk within the ground and the place where the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) was sitting (in Madǐnah) and the land on which Ĥusain (a.s.) was killed attached to one another like this – and Imam (a.s.) put his two index fingers together. Imam (a.s.) added: Jabra`ǐl then picked up some of the dust (of Karbalā) with his wing and gave it to the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.). Thereafter, the earth returned to the way it was in less than a blink of an eye. The Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) (while holding the dust of Karbalā in his hand) said to it, “O dust! You are blissful, and blissful is he who will be killed on you!”

6 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي (رحمه الله) عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْوَشَّاءِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَائِذٍ عَنْ أَبِي خَدِيجَةَ سَالِمِ بْنِ مُكَرَّمٍ الْجَمَّالِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ لَمَّا وَلَدَتْ فَاطِمَةُ الْحُسَيْنَ (ع) جَاءَ جَبْرَئِيلُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِص فَقَالَ لَهُ إِنَّ أُمَّتَكَ تَقْتُلُ الْحُسَيْنَ (ع) مِنْ بَعْدِكَ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَ لَا أُرِيكَ مِنْ تُرْبَتِهِ فَضَرَبَ بِجَنَاحِهِ فَأَخْرَجَ مِنْ تُرْبَةِ كَرْبَلَاءَ وَ أَرَاهَا إِيَّاهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ هَذِهِ التُّرْبَةُ الَّتِي يُقْتَلُ عَلَيْهَا

6. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Ĥasan ibn ‘Ali Al-Washā`, from Aĥmad ibn ‘Ā`idh, from Abǐ Khadǐjah Sālim ibn Mukram Al-Jammāl, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: When Fāťimah (s.a.) gave birth to Ĥusain (a.s.), Jabra`ǐl came to the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) and said, “Your nation will kill Ĥusain after you. Should I not show you some of his dust (the dust on which he will be killed)?” Then Jabra`ǐl hit the land of Karbalā with his wing, took some of its dust, showed it to the Prophet (s.a.a.w.), and said, “This is the dust on which he will be killed.”

7 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الزَّعْفَرَانِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْأَسْلَمِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَنْبَسَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ الْمَلَكُ الَّذِي جَاءَ إِلَى مُحَمَّدٍ (ص) يُخْبِرُهُ بِقَتْلِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) كَانَ جَبْرَئِيلَ (ع) الرُّوحَ الْأَمِينَ مَنْشُورَ الْأَجْنِحَةِ بَاكِياً صَارِخاً قَدْ حَمَلَ مِنْ تُرْبَةِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) وَ هِيَ تَفُوحُ كَالْمِسْكِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ (ص) وَ تُفْلِحُ أُمَّتِي تَقْتُلُ فَرْخِي أَوْ قَالَ فَرْخَ ابْنَتِي فَقَالَ جَبْرَئِيلُ يَضْرِبُهَا اللَّهُ بِالاخْتِلَافِ فَتَخْتَلِفُ قُلُوبُهُمْ

7. My father narrated to me from Ĥusain ibn ‘Ali Al-Za’farāni, from Muĥammad ibn ‘Amr Al-Aslami, from ‘Amr ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn ‘Anbasah, from Muĥammad ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn ‘Amr, from his father, from Ibn ‘Abbās, who said: The angel who came to Muĥammad (s.a.a.w.) informing him of the killing of Ĥusain (a.s.) was the Guardian Spirit, Jabra`ǐl. He came to the Prophet (s.a.a.w.) with his wings spread out, crying and screaming. He was carrying some of the dust of Ĥusain (a.s.) from which a fragrance emanated just as it does from musk. The Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) asked him, “Will a nation who kills my son – or the son of my daughter – achieve salvation?” Jabra`ǐl replied, “Allāh will afflict them with disagreements so their hearts will disagree with one another.” The above Ĥadǐth has also been narrated to me through the following chain: ‘Ubaydullāh ibn Faďl ibn Muĥammad ibn Hilāl, from Muĥammad ibn ‘Amǐrah Al-Aslami, from ‘Amr ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn ‘Anbasah, from Muĥammad ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn ‘Amr, from his father, from Ibn ‘Abbās.

8 حَدَّثَنِي النَّاقِدُ أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْغَنَوِيِّ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ وَ هَلْ بَقِيَ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ مَلَكٌ لَمْ يَنْزِلْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ (ص) يُعَزِّيهِ بِوَلَدِهِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) وَ يُخْبِرُهُ بِثَوَابِ اللَّهِ إِيَّاهُ وَ يَحْمِلُ إِلَيْهِ تُرْبَتَهُ مَصْرُوعاً عَلَيْهَا مَذْبُوحاً مَقْتُولًا جَرِيحاً طَرْيحاً مَخْذُولًا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ (ص) اللَّهُمَّ اخْذُلْ مَنْ خَذَلَهُ وَ اقْتُلْ مَنْ قَتَلَهُ وَ اذْبَحْ مَنْ ذَبَحَهُ وَ لَا تُمَتِّعْهُ بِمَا طَلَبَ قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ فَوَ اللَّهِ لَقَدْ عُوجِلَ الْمَلْعُونُ يَزِيدُ وَ لَمْ يَتَمَتَّعْ بَعْدَ قَتْلِهِ بِمَا طَلَبَ- قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ وَ لَقَدْ أُخِذَ مناقصة [مُغَافَصَةً] بَاتَ سَكْرَانَ وَ أَصْبَحَ مَيِّتاً مُتَغَيِّراً كَأَنَّهُ مَطْلِيٌّ بِقَارٍ أُخِذَ عَلَى أَسَفٍ وَ مَا بَقِيَ أَحَدٌ مِمَّنْ تَابَعَهُ عَلَى قَتْلِهِ أَوْ كَانَ فِي مُحَارَبَتِهِ إِلَّا أَصَابَهُ جُنُونٌ أَوْ جُذَامٌ أَوْ بَرَصٌ وَ صَارَ ذَلِكَ وِرَاثَةً فِي نَسْلِهِمْ

8. Abul Ĥusain Aĥmad ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn ‘Ali Al-Nāqid narrated to me from Ja’far ibn Sulaymān, from his father, from ‘Abdil Raĥmān Al-Ghanawi, from Sulaymān, who said: Was there any angel left in the heavens that did not come down to the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) to console him with regards to his son, Ĥusain (a.s.), and to inform him of the reward of Ĥusain (a.s.) with Allāh?! And (was there any angel) who did not go to the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.), carrying some of the dust on which Ĥusain (a.s.) fell, was injured, slaughtered, killed, and on which he was abandoned?! The Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) used to say, “O Allāh! Abandon those who abandon Ĥusain, kill those who kill him, slaughter those who slaughter him, and do not fulfill their requests.” ‘Abdul Raĥmān (Al-Ghanawi) said: I swear to Allāh that the cursed Yazǐd was soon taken (by Allāh for punishment) and he did not enjoy any pleasure after killing Ĥusain (a.s.). He died suddenly with a crisis. He spent the night while he was drunk and he was found dead and deformed in the morning as if he was coated with tar. Anyone who followed the order of Yazǐd in killing Ĥusain (a.s.) or anyone who participated in fighting Ĥusain (a.s.) became insane or was afflicted with leprosy which became a hereditary disease in their progeny. May Allāh’s curse be upon all of them. The above Ĥadǐth has also been narrated to me through the following chain: ‘Ubaydullāh ibn Faďl, from Ja’far ibn Sulaymān, from his father, from ‘Abdil Rĥmān Al-Ghanawi, from Sulaymān.

9 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي نَصْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ بْنِ نَصْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنِ الْمُعَلَّى بْنِ خُنَيْسٍ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ (ص) أَصْبَحَ صَبَاحاً فَرَأَتْهُ فَاطِمَةُ بَاكِياً حَزِيناً فَقَالَتْ مَا لَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَأَبَى أَنْ يُخْبِرَهَا فَقَالَتْ لَا آكُلُ وَ لَا أَشْرَبُ حَتَّى تُخْبِرَنِي فَقَالَ إِنَّ جَبْرَئِيلَ (ع) أَتَانِي بِالتُّرْبَةِ الَّتِي يُقْتَلُ عَلَيْهَا غُلَامٌ لَمْ يُحْمَلْ بِهِ بَعْدُ وَ لَمْ تَكُنْ تَحْمِلُ بِالْحُسَيْنِ (ع) وَ هَذِهِ تُرْبَتُهُ حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمِيرَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَنْبَسَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَ ذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ مِثْلَ حَدِيثِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الزَّعْفَرَانِيِّ سَوَاءً حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْغَنَوِيِّ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ وَ ذَكَرَ مِثْلَ حَدِيثِ أَبِي الْحُسَيْنِ النَّاقِدِ سَوَاءً

9. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn Abǐ Našr, from ‘Abdil Karǐm ibn Našr, from ‘Abdil Karǐm ibn ‘Amr, from Mu’allā ibn Khunays, who said: One morning, Fāťimah (s.a.) saw the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) crying and grieved. So she asked him, “What is upsetting you, O Messenger of Allāh?” However, the Prophet (s.a.a.w.) refused to tell her the reason behind his grief. So Fāťimah (s.a.) said, “I will not eat or drink until you tell me.” Then the Prophet (s.a.a.w.) said, “Jabra`ǐl brought me some of the dust on which a son, who has not been conceived yet, will be killed.” The Prophet (s.a.a.w.) added, “She (Fāťimah (s.a.)) was not pregnant with Ĥusain (a.s.) yet, and this was the dust of Ĥusain (a.s.).”
