 أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَرْقِیِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَبْدُ الْعَظِیمِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَ کَانَ مَرِیضاً عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ عِیسَی بْنِ السَّرِیِّ الیسری قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَنْ مَاتَ لَا یَعْرِفُ إِمَامَهُ مَاتَ مِیتَهً جَاهِلِیَّهً قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع أَحْوَجُ مَا یَکُونُ إِلَی مَعْرِفَتِهِ إِذَا بَلَغَ نَفْسُهُ هَکَذَا وَ أَشَارَ بِیَدِهِ إِلَی صَدْرِهِ فَقَالَ لَقَدْ کُنْتُ عَلَی أَمْرٍ حَسَنٍ.

1. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to me by Sa’d b. Abdillah from Ahmad b. Abi Abdillah al-Barqi who said it was narrated to me by Abdul-Adheem b. Abdillah and was ill from Muhammad b. Umar from Hamad b. Uthman from Isa b. al-Sarri al-Yusra who said: “When the state reaches here you will need it (recognition of Imam) much. Your thinking is good regarding this.”

 وَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِی الْمِعْزَی عَنْ ذَرِیحٍ عَنْ أَبِی حَمْزَهَ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: مِنَّا الْإِمَامُ الْمَفْرُوضُ طَاعَتُهُ مَنْ جَحَدَهُ مَاتَ یَهُودِیّاً أَوْ نَصْرَانِیّاً وَ اللَّهِ مَا تُرِکَ الْأَرْضُ مُنْذُ قَبَضَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ آدَمَ ع إِلَّا وَ فِیهَا إِمَامٌ یُهْتَدَی بِهِ إِلَی اللَّهِ حُجَّهً عَلَی الْعِبَادِ مَنْ تَرَکَهُ هَلَکَ وَ مَنْ لَزِمَهُ نَجَا حَقّاً عَلَی اللَّهِ.

2. And from the previous chain from Ahmad b. Abi al-Mi’za from Dharih from Abi Hamzah from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “We are the Imams whose obedience is obligatory. One who denies us, will die as a Jew or a Christian. I swear by Allah, this earth is not deprived of a guiding Imam since the passing away of Prophet Adam (a.s.). They are proofs of Allah on His servants. Whoever kept away from them were destroyed and Allah guarantees salvation for those who obey them.”
