 أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ یَحْیَی عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ مُوسَی بْنِ عُمَیْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَبَلَهَ عَنْ حَنَانِ بْنِ سَدِیرٍ قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَی أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع وَ عَلَیَّ نَعْلٌ سَوْدَاءُ فَقَالَ مَا لَکَ وَ لُبْسَ نَعْلٍ سَوْدَاءَ أَ مَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَ فِیهَا ثَلَاثَ خِصَالٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ وَ مَا هِیَ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاکَ فَقَالَ تُضَعِّفُ الْبَصَرَ وَ تُرْخِی الذَّکَرَ وَ تُورِثُ الْهَمَّ وَ هِیَ مَعَ ذَلِکَ لِبَاسُ الْجَبَّارِینَ عَلَیْکَ بِلُبْسِ النَّعْلِ الصَّفْرَاءِ فَإِنَّ فِیهَا ثَلَاثَ خِصَالٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ وَ مَا هِیَ قَالَ تَحُدُّ الْبَصَرَ وَ تَشُدُّ الذَّکَرَ وَ تَنْفِی الْهَمَّ وَ هِیَ مَعَ ذَلِکَ لِبَاسُ الْأَنْبِیَاءِ.

1. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Yahya from Muhammad b. Ahmad from Musa b. ’Umayr from Abdillah b. Jabalah from Hanan b. Sadeer who said: “Why are you wearing black shoes? Do you know its bad consequences?” He asked, “What are its bad effects?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “It affects eyesight and male prowess and it is a cause of sadness and anger. Further, it is the sign of oppressors. Wear yellow shoes and enjoy its benefits.” He asked, “What are the benefits of wearing them?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “It improves eyesight and increases male prowess. It ends sadness and anger and it is a part of the dress of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.).”
