47 - الحسين بن محمد بن علي، الأزدي، أبو عبد الله. ثقة، من أصحابنا، كوفي. كان الغالب عليه علم السير والآداب والشعر. وله كتب: كتاب الوفود على النبي (صلى الله عليه وآله)، كتاب أخبار أبي محمد، سفيان ابن مصعب العبدي وشعره، كتاب أخبار ابن أبي عقب وشعره. أخبرنا أبو الحسن، أسد بن إبراهيم بن كليب السلمي، الحراني، ومحمد بن عثمان، قالا: حدثنا أبو بكر محمد بن الحسين بن صالح السبيعي، بحلب، قال: حدثنا المنذر بن محمد بن المنذر، قال: حدثنا الحسين بن محمد بن علي الأزدي، بكتبه. 

47 – al-Ḥusayn b. Muḥammad b. ʿAlī al-Azdī, Abū ʿAbdillāh.  Thiqa.  From our companions.  Kufan.  What was predominant with him was the knowledge of biography, literature, and poetry, and he has books: the book of the delegations upon the Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله , the book of the reports of Abū Muḥammad, Sufyān b. Muṣʿab al-ʿAbdī and his poetry, the book of the report of Ibn Abī ʿUqb and his poetry.  Abū al-Ḥasan Asad b. Ibrāhīm b. Kulayb al-Sullami and Muḥammad b. ʿUthmān reported to us, they said: Abū Bakr Muḥammad b. al-Ḥusayn b. Ṣāliḥ al-Sabīʿī narrated to us at Aleppo, he said: al-Mundhir b. Muḥammad b. al-Mundhir narrated to us, he said: al-Husan b. Muḥammad b. ʿAlī al-Azdī narrated his books to us.
